The French photographer Louis Daguerre, inventor of the first publicly announced photography process, sat for more than one of his “daguerreotypes”, making them the very first selfies.   Nowadays you don’t need to polish sheets of copper or treat them with mercury vapour, you just need to point your camera or your smartphone at yourself. It’s a great way to include yourself in your memories as you share them with others, so here are five tips for better selfies!
