Throughout June, Capcom has been on a roll, offering a steady stream of exciting announcements across some of its most iconic and anticipated franchises. The publisher concluded its impressive month with a focused Capcom Spotlight event, delivering new information and first looks at upcoming titles, including Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, Street Fighter 6 Year 3, Monster Hunter Wilds, and more. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter, a brass-knuckled warrior, or ready to uncover sci-fi secrets in space, Capcom offered something compelling across multiple genres. Let’s take a look at the biggest pieces of information shared during the spotlight.

A new look at Pragmata during Capcom Spotlight
Capcom kicked off the presentation with a deeper look at Pragmata’s gameplay. The title is a mysterious new sci-fi IP with some very interesting-looking mechanics. Now confirmed for a 2026 launch, we are getting more tidbits about the title. The game centers around Hugh Williams, a stranded survivor on a lunar station, and Diana, an android companion who aides him. Together, they must unravel the truth behind a communication blackout, escape the facility and make it back to Earth. Diana literally piggybacks on Hugh, helping him navigate the obstacles within and the enemies within.

Intense puzzle-combat hybrid gameplay in Pragmata
The gameplay showcased during the Spotlight featured a creative blend of puzzle-solving and third-person action. Players will alternate between hacking mechanics where Diana disables enemy armour, and fast-paced shooting sequences as Hugh exploits those exposed weaknesses. It’s a refreshingly cerebral take on action, with a focus on collaboration between the two leads to overcome obstacles and environmental hazards. Based on the short look we got, it looks a little complicated, but I’ll have to reserve final judgement on the mechanic until I get to go hands-on myself.

The unique combat system can already be previewed in a “Hacking Minigame” on the official Pragmata website. Capcom shared that the title will be playable at Gamescom 2025, so expect even more impressions at the end of the summer. It’s one of the most intriguing titles in Capcom’s pipeline, and we’ll have more information on how to pre-order your copy on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S coming soon.

Street Fighter 6 Year 3 kicks off with Sagat
The king of Muay Thai is back! Sagat officially joins the Year 3 roster in Street Fighter 6 starting August 5th, complete with his iconic stage set in the mountains of Thailand. He’ll also serve as a new Master in World Tour mode, offering new abilities and story content.
Alongside Sagat’s arrival, Capcom revealed a beach-ready Outfit 4 lineup for seven characters, including Cammy, Chun-Li, and Luke. The aptly titled “Sagat Arrives” Fighting Pass, packed with themed content and bonuses like new EX colours for Ryu and Ken, kicks off July 4th, 2025.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Brings Spiritual Action to Switch 2
Capcom also celebrated the success of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on its one-year anniversary, with new content. The game was recently released alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 as part of its launch lineup. You can now enjoy its elegant swordplay and strategic gameplay on the go, with the Switch 2 version.
A free update titled “Otherworldly Venture” adds a new endless mode, randomized upgrades, and retro-themed 8-bit soundtrack remixes. It’s the perfect time to revisit (or dive into) this unique gem with more content than ever before.

Resident Evil Requiem Brings “Addictive Fear” for Survival Horror
We also got an unexpected (but exciting!) update on Resident Evil Requiem. I was shocked to see the game again so soon, as it was just revealed at Summer Game Fest. Requiem is the next major installment in the legendary survival horror franchise, launching February 27th, 2026. During the latest look, it was officially confirmed by developers that the game is set 30 years after the Raccoon City incident.

The development team also discussed the protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, even further. She is an introverted yet sharp FBI analyst who must battle her own fears to survive.
The dev team emphasized a return to survival horror “roots.” In this vein, players have the option to experience the game in either first- or third-person. The spotlight also revealed new gameplay mechanics and an incredible level of realism.

From Grace’s nuanced facial expressions to her painstakingly animated hair physics, the graphics look incredible. As part of the series’ upcoming 30th anniversary, Requiem aims to be both a terrifying eulogy and a bold new chapter for the Resident Evil saga.

Monster Hunter Wilds Update 2
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its second free title update on June 30th, and it’s packed with exciting content. In the new update, the long-requested monster Lagiacrus makes its triumphant return, now featuring underwater elements in battle. Joining it is Seregios, the brutal aerial wyvern, updated for intense high-speed encounters.
Also included in the update are new Tempered versions of both monsters, Arch-tempered Uth Duna. There are also layered weapon designs for your favourite endgame gear. Hunters will be able to choose their support team, add photogenic flair with new camera filters, and enjoy seasonal festivities during the Festival of Accord: Flamefete starting July 23rd, 2025.

One exciting (and unexpected) collaboration has me really excited: a limited-edition Fender guitar will make its in-game debut. The Fender-made Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster, will appear in Wilds as a gesture starting August 27th. Two legendary brands are togethcoming in order to create something truly special and fun.
Final Thoughts on Capcom Spotlight for June 2025
Capcom’s latest Spotlight was a great showing, offering exciting updates to some of its biggest titles. From bone-chilling horror to complex sci-fi storytelling and monster-hunting epics, Capcom’s portfolio looks extremely strong. With Pragmata shaping up as a compelling new IP, Street Fighter 6 bringing fan-favourites into the ring, and Resident Evil Requiem bringing the franchise back to its roots, Capcom’s momentum going forward is looking incredibly strong.
