Every now and then, something really unique comes out—something that launches and makes you wonder if it’s going to set the new standard. They launch quietly, but as soon as you try them for yourself, you’re left wondering if they’re going to change the market entirely. The Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum & mop is one of those products. It’s a robot vacuum cleaner with a twist: It has a retractable, fully functional robotic arm worked into its design.
“Wait,” you’re asking yourself. “Did I read that right? Does that vacuum have an arm??!”
Yes. Yes it does. This vacuum not only vacuums, self-empties, and mops, but it also has an arm. (An arm!) It’s an arm that works a lot like an arcade game’s claw arm, but this is better than a claw machine. It’s a robot cleaner, and it’s here to do your chores for you—even the finicky ones like picking up your socks and cleaning up your dog’s toys.
What’s in the box of the Roborock Saros Z70 Robot Vacuum & Mop?

In the box of the Roborock Saros Z70, you’ll find the vacuum body, charging stand, and drip plate. Its charging stand includes a disposible vacuum bag (bottom compartment), a clean water jug (upper right compartment), and a dirty water jug (upper left compartment). The stand comes with a plug, a raised tray for washing and drying the Saros Z70’s mop heads, and a care guide. The vacuum body already comes with an edge brush and brush roll installed.
The Saros also comes with a storage bin, warranty/instruction papers, and a quick start guide. Roborock’s quick start guides are excellent, so make sure to read yours if you purchase a Z70!

What makes the Saros Z70 so unique?

There is a lot going on with Roborock’s Saros Z70 vacuum. It’s not just a robot vacuum; it’s also a robot mop. And it’s not just a robot mop; it’s a self-cleaning one. On top of that, it’s also a robotic tidier, an AI-powered customizable machine, and a robot with a self-lifting chassis.
The feature that makes the Roborock Z70 robot vacuum truly one-of-a-kind is its OmniGrip mechanical arm. It’s a five-axis mechanical arm that stores flat within the vacuum itself and comes out for tidying tasks. It’s designed to move obstacles, sort household detritus, and clean up small items in your wake. Not only does the Z70 vacuum and mop better than most robot vacuums, but it’s currently unique in its sorting and tidying up capabilities.
The OmniGrip arm is equipped with dual cameras, LED lighting, and precision sensors. It’s something that I’ve never seen in a vacuum before—or in any other household appliance. It has built-in sensors to not only locate objects but also to make sure that the arm is squeezing them gently, and it can handle small items of up to 300 grams.
Standout mopping features of the Roborock Z70
This vacuum’s mechanical arm is nothing short of amazing, but honestly, it’s a fantastic robot cleaner even without the arm. It’s an excellent mop, a great vacuum, and it maps and cleans spaces efficiently and thoroughly.
The mopping feature that stood out to me in the Z70 is this cleaner’s edge-to-edge floor coverage. It uses its mechanical arm to tidy areas and re-clean underneath the removed objects later, but it also has better corner coverage than any vacuum or mop I’ve seen before. The Z70’s FlexiArm Riser Side Brush and Mop reaches the vacuum’s dense mop pads out to the side of its body—as in, this vacuum can stick its mop pads out from below its body for an even tighter, deeper clean. This function lets the Z70 clean right along the edges of a room. It even lets the robot mop underneath the edges of furniture and cupboards for a full, seamless clean.
Before, after, and (for longer or dirtier cleaning sessions) during a clean, this Roborock vacuum and mop will wash and freshen up its plush mop pads in 80ËšC hot water. It can auto-dispense detergent, smart re-wash and re-mop areas, and it dries out its mopping pads with gentle, warm air at the end of each mopping session. The mop pads are dried at 50ËšC, which prevents them from smelling funky.
Do other robot vacuums tidy up?
No. At the time of this publication (June 2025), Roborock has the only robot cleaner on the market with a “tidying up” function. Some other robot vacuums can identify items using AI and cameras, but the Roborock Saros Z70 is the only product that can clean up around the house for you.
Why choose a robot vacuum and mop over a vacuum?

If you live in a home with hard floors, buying a robot cleaner with mopping funcationality takes your cleaning routine to the next level. These alternatives typically have a larger charging base than their vacuum-only counterparts, but the body size of the robot remains the same.
Robot vacuums are a great way to vacuum up hair, crumbs, and dust from your home. They help you stay on top of allergens like dust and dander and reduce your chore time significantly. Robot vacuum-and-mop combos take that up a notch by quite literally scrubbing your floors clean once they’ve been swept: They deliver a smooth, sparkling finish that feels great under your feet. They’re a particularly excellent choice in climates like Canada because they can mop your boot room or entryway throughout the day, keeping your home looking tidy even during muddy and snowy weather.
The best part about a vacuum-and-mop combo? You never have to lift a finger. They can vacuum high-traffic areas like your front entry and kitchen a few times a week (or a few times a day) and you don’t have to worry about a thing.
My experience with the Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum and mop
The Saros is a robot vacuum and mop that’s unlike any other that I’ve tried before—and I’ve reviewed a lot of robot vacuums. It is definitely one of the sleekest and most aesthetically-pleasing robot vacuums out there, and its tidying arm is something that no other vacuum can offer.
One thing that I love about Roborock (which is, admittedly, my personal favourite robot vacuum brand) is that their products are different every year. You’re never just buying this year’s version of the same thing. When you upgrade to a new Roborock, your new model will be substantially different from the last one.
The Saros is similar to my current robot vacuum and mop, but even though mine is just two years old, the Saros Z70 is a noticeable jump forward in both design and technology. The Z70 is sleeker than my S7 Max Ultra. It cleans noticeably better around edges and furniture, and its camera quality is substantially better than that of the S7 Max Ultra. Its movements are smoother, and its lifting chassis is another totally new concept to me. Even the way this vacuum works with the Roborock app is somehow more seamless than before. (And that’s saying something, because I already thought Roborock had the best app integration in the vacuum space!)
So… how’s the arm?

I’d like to see more development of the Roborock Saros’ OmniGrip arm, but I think it’s a very cool feature to have. It is definitely still in its infancy; this vacuum only sometimes manages to clean up items like socks and toys, and when it does, the process is quite slow. However, Roborock is continuing to update and develop their AI features, and the Saros Z70 will continue to recieve updates to improve its object recognition and tidying capabilities.
The arm works about half the time for me, picking up small items on the floor and sorting them into the correct area of my home without any intervention. It’s a nice-to-have, but with its current speed and efficacy rate, it isn’t quite a total game changer–yet.
In conclusion
The Roborock Saros Z70 Robot Vacuum & Mop is an excellent, well-built robot vacuum and mop. It’s perfect for streamlining your household chores and does a great job of keeping floors smooth and tidy. It comes with excellent smart scheduling capabilities, top-of-the-line build quiality, and a fantastic app. For now, the Saros’ robot arm is more of a concept than a big help around the house, but I hope to see Roborock improve its functionality as time passes.
