Here’s a full breakdown of the biggest announcements from the June 2025 State of Play.
Silent Hill f launches September 25 with haunting PS5 gameplay
Konami confirmed during today’s State of Play that Silent Hill f will launch on September 25, 2025. A new gameplay trailer gave us the best look yet at this psychological horror spinoff, set in 1960s Japan. You play as Shimizu Hinako, a high school student whose town becomes consumed by fog and madness. As reality unravels around her, you’ll solve puzzles, make key choices, and fight to survive. Your decisions shape the outcome, whether Hinako holds on to beauty and control or descends into chaos.
Unlike the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f leans more into melee combat with an action-oriented approach. You’ll face eerie mannequin-like enemies in tense close-range encounters, using weapons like iron bars to fight back. The developers describe the theme as “beauty in terror.” That’s reflected in everything from the detailed 4K visuals and fog-covered townscapes to the grotesque creature designs by kera. The score, composed by Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage, builds on that mood with haunting melodies that blend tradition and unease.
Puzzles are inspired by Japanese cultural elements, like scarecrows, and tie into the emotional weight of the story. A special Enhanced Graphics Mode on PS5 Pro promises stable framerate without sacrificing visual quality. Silent Hill f looks like one of the more original PS5 releases coming this year.

Pragmata returns with new gameplay, launches on PS5 in 2026
Capcom shared a brand-new look at Pragmata during today’s State of Play, confirming that the sci-fi action game will now launch in 2026. The trailer offered the most detailed look yet at the long-awaited title, which had gone quiet since its original reveal. Set on the moon, Pragmata follows two protagonists, Hugh and Diana, who must work together to defeat a rogue lunar station AI. The new trailer highlighted their first contact and gave us a glimpse of their dynamic, with gameplay showing both characters in action.
Combat relies on controlling both Hugh and Diana at the same time. Each has their own set of abilities, and you’ll need to switch between them to solve puzzles and survive battles. The game blends action and strategy, with hacking as a key mechanic during combat. Capcom describes this dual-character system as a unique twist that sets Pragmata apart. While full gameplay details are still under wraps, the team promises more updates soon.
Pragmata is part of the upcoming PS5 lineup, bringing a sci-fi setting and a quiet, mysterious tone. It may be a longer wait, but the new footage shows a promising addition to the lineup of upcoming PS5 games.

Nioh 3 revealed for PS5 with new combat styles and a limited time demo
Team Ninja officially announced Nioh 3 during today’s State of Play. The dark samurai action RPG is confirmed for PlayStation 5. A limited-time demo is available now and runs through June 18. Set once again in the chaotic Sengoku era, Nioh 3 introduces a new protagonist on the path to becoming Shogun. This time, combat offers two distinct styles, Samurai and Ninja. You can freely switch between them based on the situation or stick with your preferred style throughout the game.
The Samurai style builds on previous entries, with new mechanics like Arts Proficiency to boost martial arts and Deflect for precise counters. The Ninja style is more agile, letting you dodge, leap, and launch hit-and-run attacks with techniques like Mist and Evade. These give you more freedom to reposition and strike from unexpected angles. Nioh 3 joins the growing list of upcoming PS5 games that are expanding how you explore and tackle challenges. You’ll face deadly yokai, investigate haunted villages, and enter cursed areas like The Crucible, where danger ramps up fast.
The demo includes early access to character creation and lets you test both combat styles from this lineup of upcoming PS5 games. Team Ninja encourages fans to share feedback through an official survey. Your input will help shape the full release, which the developers say will be the biggest Nioh title to date. If you’re into tough action RPGs, Nioh 3 looks like a solid pick with its new combat styles and open structure.

007 First Light Announced for PS5, a bold James Bond origin story
IO Interactive unveiled 007 First Light during today’s State of Play. It’s a new third-person action-adventure game reimagining the origin of James Bond. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026, with enhancements confirmed for PS5 Pro. Set before the days of tuxedos and martinis, 007 First Light introduces a younger Bond at just 26 years old. He begins his journey as a NAVY air crewman, where a brave act sets him on the path toward MI6. What follows is a rigorous training program and a transformation into the legendary agent.
This original standalone story was developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. It will feature a mix of stealth, action, driving, and spy gadgets, all built using IO Interactive’s Glacier engine. Locations will span snowy mountains, tropical beaches, and other globe-trotting hotspots. You’ll meet classic characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny, alongside new faces such as Greenway, Bond’s mentor in the story. You can approach missions through combat, stealth, or dialogue, depending on Bond’s instincts and your choices. These are shaped by Bond’s instincts and growing experience.
The game will support 60 FPS in Quality Mode on PlayStation 5 Pro. And, it will use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for visual performance. More gameplay and story details will be revealed later this year.
