Best Buy Canada's teen tech grants

When students have access to the right technology, learning shifts from theory to discovery. Ideas become projects. Curiosity turns into confidence. That belief continues to guide Best Buy Canada’s community work, and it’s what drives this year’s Teen Tech for Tomorrow grants.

Congratulations to the 2025 recipients of Best Buy Canada’s Teen Tech for Tomorrow Grants and Teen Tech Teams initiatives. This year, $150,000 is being awarded to 18 secondary schools and robotics teams across Canada. From small and remote communities to major cities, these recipients reflect the diversity, resilience, and creativity of students and educators nationwide.

Turning access into opportunity

Technology plays a critical role in how students learn, collaborate, and prepare for the future. Through the Teen Tech Grants, selected secondary schools receive up to $10,000 to support students in Grades 8 to 12. Schools can use the funding to purchase tech to upgrade classroom technology, enhance STEM programs, libraries, and create more inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Best Buy Canada empowers Canadian youth through technology

Since 2008, Best Buy Canada has awarded more than $4 million in grants to over 300 public schools across the country, helping educators modernize classrooms and create meaningful learning experiences. The launch of Teen Tech for Tomorrow in 2024 further strengthened this commitment, with an increased focus on advancing tech equity for Canadian teens. Take a look at the 2024 Teen Tech winners.

“Giving back to our communities is at the heart of what we do,” says Karen Arsenault, Head of Social Impact and Sustainability for Best Buy Canada. “The Teen Tech for Tomorrow program means so much to us because it allows us to help level the playing field for Canadian teens, opening doors to new opportunities and helping to ensure every student has the chance to reach their full potential.”

Opportunities for secondary schools and robotics teams

All publicly funded secondary schools across Canada, primarily serving students in grades 8 to 12, can apply for Teen Tech Grants to bring the much-needed technology into classrooms. Robotics teams made up of students in grades 9 to 12 are also eligible through the Teen Tech Teams initiative, all supported by Best Buy Canada.

Although applications are now closed, schools and teams are encouraged to explore Best Buy Canada’s Teen Tech for Tomorrow programs to learn more about eligibility and future timelines. Plus, join our mailing list to stay informed and be ready when the next application window opens.
