I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.
I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.
Do your research and plan for your next TV
Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.
These are all premium prizes, so you must do a bit of work before you enter to win one of them. Since each of these brands provided a prize for this contest, you’ll be allowed to enter once per brand. Read the directions below carefully.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can enter once for each brand that provided a prize to this contest for a total of three unique entries: one entry about Sony, one about Samsung, and one about LG. For each entry, in a comment below, tell us
a) which new technology by that brand has you most excited about their Premium TVs this year. You can go to these articles for information about the new technology from each brand.
b) which model by that brand on the Best Buy website is your favourite (you must be precise: saying something like “any model” is not a valid response).

At the end of the contest, we will randomly select three winners from all eligible entries to receive one of the three televisions shown above.
This contest runs from June 1st to June 15th.

Samsung The Frame 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65LS03TAFXZC) – Charcoal Black
I’m interested in the gaming option with no screen tear goes with DOT technology
Samsung – the Adaptive Picture feature, would be a huge benefit. I think the fact that it adjusts to room conditions would reduce eye strain.
From the website the Samsung 98″ 8K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV would be amazingly vibrant in a home theater setting.
LG:
a) I really like the feature known as Dolby Vision IQ of LG that adjusts the best hdr for whatever use you are doing on the tv.
b) the model i would like the most would is the 65″ CX OLED tv (OLED65CXPUA)
Sony:
a) for me the sony tvs even though it has great features for image (hdr with dolby vision and imax enhanced) I really enjoy it’s smart features as well since its compatible with google home since its the system i use in my house.
b) The model 65 inch series 950 ( XBR65X950H) which is a a model I really like but i would definetly love even more their XBR65A8G which is an oled tv.
LG:

a) for me its there are 2 things that I really like about samsung tvs 1. gaming features due hdmi 2.1 that will be compatible with next gen consoles and limit screen tearing and improve fluidity of the image 2. is the frame feature which makes the tv very useful if you just want to put on artwork for decoration.
b) the model for samsung is the frame but i really enjoyed the 65 inch QN65L which would be perfect for my home theater i am trying to build.
SAMSUNG:

A: LG’s NanoCell technology for better colour! They use nanoparticles that filter out dull colours to enhance the purity of the colour spectrum. I would love to enjoy stunning visuals for an incredible viewing experience, even at wide viewing angles, with pure colours it let you watch movies the way they were intended.
B: LG 65″ 4K UHD HDR OLED webOS Smart TV (OLED65CXPUA) A little out of my price range, but looks like it would be worth it for the full theatrical experience!!

A)I think I really like the idea of the Direct Full Array 16X with concentrated LED zones. Being able to actually see anything during dark scenes has been quite difficult and takes away from the movie watching experience.
B) Even though I don’t think I would ever need the Samsung 98″ 8K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV, it definitely has my attention with how big it is. This would be perfect for a home theatre.
Ps I had my A’s and B’s reversed in first 2 entries!
For LG
A) The LG OLED tv looks like my top pick for new LG TVs this year!
B) We are a gaming family, but, our tv is old and therefore does nothing to give us quality picture when gaming or watching movies. I’m thinking that because this tv has I-powered video, that our gaming would be taken to a whole new level!
