CES is often a show that sees media capturing content all the time, especially when it comes to the tools of the trade unveiled there. The devices falling under this category vary widely, from drones to gimbals and on to unique cameras that can do things in ways others can’t.
Without further ado, here are some of the devices that stood out on the show floor.
Antigravity A1

This drone caused a stir at its booth during the show for the simple fact it has more than one way to fly it. Its main purpose is the ability to record 360-degree aerial footage in 8K, basically seeing everything all around it instead of only in one direction. That does make it a purely 360 camera, as there’s no way to switch to 180-degree shots but there are ways to reframe footage later when editing in post-production. Weighing roughly 249 grams, you don’t need to register it to fly in Canada, though rules still apply.

The A1 also enables a more immersive approach to piloting, pairing it with dedicated Vision goggles and a motion-based Grip controller that replaces traditional joysticks with gesture-driven control. This way, you can view a live 360-degree feed while flying, making it a fascinating first-person where you can see the drone’s view all around while it hovers in place. Combined with automated flight modes, safety systems like return-to-home, and streamlined editing tools for reframing and exporting footage, the A1 is aimed squarely at creators looking to push aerial video beyond conventional drone cinematography.
HoverAir AQUA

From the air to the sea, the HoverAir AQUA feels ambitious in what it’s attempting to do but I’m not aware of a drone that does it quite like this. While you can’t submerge this waterproof drone underwater and search for lost treasure, you can pilot it on the surface to capture watersports or point the camera down 90-degrees and see everything below—kind of like snorkeling. It can float, take off, and land directly on water, making it versatile enough for kayakers, paddleboarders, surfers, or anyone with an adventurous streak.

Weighing under 249 grams keeps it clear of most flight regulations, it can record 4K video up to 100 frames per second in wet and dry conditions. There are also 15 autonomous flight modes, including follow, orbit, snorkel, and mount options for hands-free filming. You control it through a Lighthouse accessory on your wrist, which functions as both a remote and a tracking beacon, enabling “follow-me” filming and simple one-tap commands for takeoff, landing, and mode switching without needing a phone.
Insta360 GO Ultra

While not entirely brand new, the GO Ultra action camera is easy to like when you first see it because it feels so adaptable. My personal favourite is the way it mounts through clothing via a lanyard and pendant you wear underneath, while a strong magnet attaches the camera to keep it in place. It comes with mount to do that, since the lanyard/pendant is a separate accessory but there are various ways to deploy this. Being a magnet, you can also pretty much attach it to any magnetic surface.

Add the optional Action Pod accessory and its 2.5-inch flip touchscreen, and you can remotely control it or get a live view of what it sees. It records in 4K at 60fps with a very wide 156-degree field of view, advanced stabilization, and AI-driven noise reduction. It also supports microSD cards up to 2TB. IPX8 waterproofing also enables it to capture footage underwater, making it a versatile little camera to take on any trip.
ShiftCam ProRig

ShiftCam’s ProRig can turn a smartphone into a more capable filmmaking rig by adding physical control and mounting options around the device. Designed to work best with the iPhone 15 through iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max models, it is adaptable to other Android phones as well, so long as they fit snugly. It includes multiple cold shoes, tripod mounts, and a slide-lock design that exposes USB-C ports, while also keeping the phone’s back open to attach MagSafe accessories.

There’s a detachable Bluetooth shutter remote that clips off on either side or works independently for some freedom in placement. ProRig supports ShiftCam’s own S-mount lenses and lets you integrate external microphones, lights, and other accessories to put together the best setup for you. For extra storage, you can also check out ShiftCam’s Planck SSD drives that are great for recording in Apple ProRes RAW.
Hohem MT3 and SSD-01

The Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro and SSD-01 mark two key devices in a broader creator-focused ecosystem. The MT3 Pro is a camera gimbal with top-end stabilization, while the SSD-01 provides high-speed storage for phones when recording video. The MT3 Series gimbals offer advanced AI tracking, smoother motion control, and support for heavier camera gear, with the Pro variant standing out more because of the detachable touchscreen remote. Clip it off and you have a live monitor and remote control all in one.

The ultra-compact SSD-01 delivers fast transfer speeds up to 2,000 MB/s read and 1,800 MB/s write, with capacities of 1TB and 2TB available. It supports Apple ProRes RAW and Open Gate recording from iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max, though works perfectly fine on iOS, Android, macOS and Windows. It even functions as a multi-port hub with mic receiver and fast-charging capabilities when you need both stabilization and storage.
XbotGo Falcon

The XbotGo Falcon is a hands-free AI sports camera that aims to give parents, coaches, and fans broadcast-style game footage without manual filming or subscriptions. Using computer vision and sport-specific AI models, it automatically pans, tilts, zooms, and tracks gameplay across more than 10 sports, with options to follow overall action or lock onto individual players by jersey number. Compact and tripod-mounted, it relies on a wide-angle lens with digital zoom, dual “AI Eyes,” and up to three hours of battery life, focusing entirely on video rather than still photos.
The idea is simple: set it up, hit record, and let the AI act as a virtual cameraman. You can store footage locally via microSD or in the cloud, and even livestream games on YouTube and Facebook. It can do all this with hockey, basketball, football, rugby—especially any sport with lateral play. Baseball is toughter, though XbotGo says it has a solution for that. Post-game, the AI tools can identify highlights and assist with editing, though full automation currently works best for basketball.
Wacom MovinkPad

Wacom’s MovinkPads are a new line of standalone creative tablets aimed at digital artists and creators who want a portable, all-in-one drawing experience without needing a computer. The most accessible is the MovinkPad 11, an Android-based tablet with an 11.45-inch display and Wacom’s Pro Pen 3, designed to let users sketch, paint, and work on ideas with very little setup. It includes sketching tools like Wacom Canvas and Clip Studio Paint DEBUT, and its textured glass surface and responsive pen aim to deliver a natural, paper-like feel that feels a little more real.
The MovinkPad Pro 14 expands the concept into a larger space with a 14-inch OLED display, rich colour coverage, and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. Features like Quick Drawing for instant capture and Instant Pen Display mode(in beta)—let the tablet function as a wireless or wired pen display for a PC or Mac.
Shure MV88

Shure’s MV88 USB-C Stereo Microphone is a compact, plug-and-play microphone you can pretty much use anywhere to capture high-quality sound straight from a phone, tablet, or laptop. The original MV88 had a Lightning connector, but this USB-C version natively supports Android, iOS, and other USB-C devices without adapters, letting you plug in and record right away without pairing or charging hassles. The microphone itself is a stereo condenser with four selectable polar patterns: adjustable stereo, mono cardioid, mono bi-directional, and raw mid-side.
I’ve used it on the show floor and it’s been great. I also like that it tilts to aim directly at sound sources and includes features like Auto Level Mode and Real-time Denoiser to help maintain clear, balanced audio in varied environments. Shures MOTIV app also lets you customize controls for microphone gain, five-band EQ, compression, limiter, and a high-pass filter to fine-tune what you want to hear.
Lexar Portable SSDs

Lexar’s latest portable SSDs include the Air Portable SSD and SL500 drives, which will come in limited edition versions co-branded with the Argentina National Football Team and display team colours, including the name and number of legend, Lionel Messi. These special editions bring the same portability and performance as the base models but with a collector’s twist for football fans and creators alike. They’ll come in capacities of 512GB, 2TB, and 4TB.
