You may think that one computer monitor is much like any other but you would be wrong. Monitors come in different sizes, different styles with different abilities and uses. Enter this contest and you may discover just how great a monitor can be: the prize is a BenQ Zowie Gaming Monitor that is very light, and is designed to handle the faced paced demands of today’s video games. It’s perfect for the student heading back to school, or any home where the computer does more than just spreadsheets.

What makes a monitor great

We are long past the days where the computer monitor occupied a major portion of your computer desk, and was a pain to move because of its weight and awkwardness. Monitors in 2017 keep getting thinner, lighter and brighter so you can work and play without getting eye strain, move them without getting a hernia, and place them on almost any table or desk and they don’t get in the way.

The prize for this contest is a great example of what I’m talking about. The BenQ monitor has the features that anyone would covet in a monitor. The bonus comes if you are into video games, and especially eSports, since this monitor is designed to refresh very quickly so that your focus remains on the game, not on the flickering screen.

BenQ Zowie Console Gaming Monitor Features

We recently sent this monitor to independent blogger Chris Loblaw for an unbiased review. Read the full review yourself, but here are some features that he called out as especially useful:

  • easy setup: great for everyone who upgrades their monitor
  • light and portable: great for taking to eSports turnaments
  • fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions
  • black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with dulling the whole scene
  • low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
  • flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain
  • non-reflective frame: another feature meant to enhance the gaming experience

Right now you may be thinking, “how can I get one of these?” There are two ways: you can just go online and purchase one from Best Buy (that’s the easiest way); you can also enter this contest. Even you don’t need a new monitor yourself, you probably know a student who’ll be going back to school in the fall who would love to get a BenQ gaming monitor.

  4. I love that it has the super fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions. With this speed I’ll never miss a shot even when I blink!

  5. I have many systems. This is perfect for all of them. Compatible with PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii, and Wii U, so you can game on multiple platforms

  6. The combination of low blue light and being flicker free are huge bonus features because both my husband and son are epileptic so this would be perfect for them to play too

  7. I like that the frame is non-reflective, my computer is in a room that gets a lot of natural light so that would help a lot.

  8. My son and husband are in school and they always strain their eyes. The fact that the low blue light will drastically reduce eye-strain is phenomenal and not to mention the Flicker free effect would hopefully help both of them with headaches and straining. Good luck to everyone!!

  9. To be totally honest I know nothing about this stuff. I am hoping to win for my son for Christmas. I can only say which ever one is the best, Thank you for the chance.

  10. Being partially blind the low blue light, which reduces eye strain is amazing. It also makes it easier for me to rest at night.

  11. Low blue light could help me cause I stare at my other computer screen when playing world of Warcraft game and then which causes headaches cause the screen is so bright and having this would help me a lot. I game a lot even it’s not good but having this gaming computer would be my first gaming setup.

  12. I would say the “fast refresh rate of 1ms” because, in gaming, nothing is more annoying than a slow refresh rate. We need to know where at the moment, not where he is now and few ms ago.

  13. I’d have to say both low blue light & flicker free because I tend to stare at my monitor while gaming for hours on end and generally would help minimize straining my eyes.

  14. The eye-saving features sound fantastic — blacker blacks, less mealtonin interference with the blue light reduction, superior frame-rate!
