Have someone on your holiday shopping list who uses a desktop PC? There are tons of gifts you could give that will make their computer better, more fun to use and even add years of life to it. I’ve put together a list of suggestions to help them to get the most from their desktop PC this holiday season.

Linksys wireless routers: smart and built for performance

0
Linksys was founded in the 1980s, previously owned by networking giant Cisco and is now under the ownership of Belkin. It’s probably best known for producing the top-selling router of all time, the blue and black Linksys WRT54G series. I’ve reviewed several Linksys wireless routers this year, including the WRT54G’s successor —the WRT1900AC— and always come away impressed. This is a brand that consumers and small business owners can count on for being at the centre of their high performance Wi-Fi network.

Smartphone operating systems compared

1
When it comes to choosing a new smartphone, hardware features are important —the display size, CPU and camera image sensor are always something to consider. The operating system is arguably an even more important choice. Right now there are four main mobile operating systems: iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry. Not sure which one should be on your next smartphone? I’m here to help you choose.

Panasonic Connect links smartphone and home phone

If you’re like most typical Canadian homes, you probably still have a landline plus several cell phones. The Panasonic Connect series include the Panasonic KXPRD262 and Panasonic KX-PRW120c that provides a bridge between your landline and smartphone.

Unique Home Theatre Gifts for the Gadget Guru in your Life

0
I like gifts that I typically wouldn’t buy for myself even though they are so cool or useful that I would love to have them. Gifts that I want but just can’t seem to justify buying for myself. Well, here are some unique home theatre gadgets that easily fall into that category. They are cool because they are very useful, but might not be something you would think to give even though your gadget guru will likely really like them.

What the Heck is Wearable Tech? Part 2: Wearables are not...

Hi Gang, Debra here! There comes a point when you just want to scream “WHAT IS A NORMAL WAY TO GET HEALTHY?” Now, the rational part of my brain knows that the best way to get healthy is to simply eat less and move more. (WHO KNEW?!)  But how much do I need to move and not eat? I’m not a doctor—I just like wearing lab coats. I’m a regular human trying to be healthier. SO! My peeps at Best Buy hooked me up with some more of their Wearable Tech. This week I got to try out the new FitBit Charge.  This has changed everything.

Want to stop slouching? Lumo Lift will help you stand straight...

2
You know how your mom would always tell you to stop slouching? Or she’d casually mention that your spine would permanently curve if you didn’t sit up straight? You might have straightened up when she was looking but the second her back was turned, you went right back to slouching. Slouching and poor posture really does make back pain worse, yet I can’t say I’ve ever really focused that much on improving my posture until the Lumo Lift, a small fitness activity tracker that coaches you to have better posture, arrived at my door.

Gifts that will get everyone excited on Christmas morning

1
I don’t know about you, but for me, one of the best things about the holidays is selecting gifts for my family that I know will bring a smile to their faces on Christmas morning. But being the daughter-aunt-sister-sister-in-law that always picks the perfect gifts is getting increasingly difficult as the years go by. My parents don’t need anything, and when they want something they just go and buy it. My nieces and nephews are at the age where anything “cool” on their list is likely something Auntie hasn’t heard of. And my brother and sister-in-law, well all they want is to take their four kids to Disneyland, and that’s entirely out of the question. So after a considerable amount of thought, here’s what I chose for them this year – five fantastic gifts that are sure to get anyone excited on Christmas morning.
