What should you look for when buying a dash cam like the many offered by Nextbase? Perhaps you want some protection for you and your family while driving at the lowest price. What are you looking for in a dash cam?

I personally don’t own a dash cam. It’s not that I don’t care about the advantages they offer, I just haven’t got around to buying one yet. But if I was, I would want something in the middle of the Nextbase series: probably a 322GW or 422GW. Perhaps it’s that the review done by Dave Neufeld was extremely persuasive? Or somehow it resonated with me in a way the other Nextbase articles have not. After all, I think all the writers did a great job examining the different models and clearly explaining what they liked and did not like about each: pros and cons. I think what is more likely is that I just like the 422GW most because I feel it’s right for me in a way that I can’t quite explain.

Nextbase keeps raising the bar on what a dash cam can do

Not that I am averse to perfection. I have not seen the new model that was just announced today, the 622GW; nor have I sent it for review—Nextbase haven’t sent me samples yet. But judging from the specifications and features, it is a step above the rest. The features include an impressively clear 4K image at 30 fps, image stabilization, and Amazon Alexa built in. I love that if you are involved in an accident, this dash cam will register the most recent footage as high priority and not let it get recorded over.

  19. 622GW is my favorite, we travel a lot up North and some of the drivers are scary on those northern roads, having rear recording would be great when a speedy driver is tailgating you.

    (1) Front as well as rear recording
    (2) Night vision
    (3) Superior image quality

    The Nextbase 622W definitely checks off all of these boxes. Therefore, I would say that it is my favourite model.

  22. I absolutely need, first of all, the image quality to be crystal clear. As well, I require the video recorded to be nice and steady, not all shaky. In addition, I need the ability to record while dark out, for driving at night. Therefore, the Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam is my favourite, as it has all of the features I just described and more.   26. The 622GW 4K Dash Cam is my favourite because I absolutely need the Extreme Weather Mode. It helps to provide a clearer image when driving visibility is low, such as when it’s misty outside.

  27. If I have to choose, I definitely would buy the 622GW 4K because of it’s ability to have ultra clear pictures, and image stabilization and even senses and works in the cold- which here in my town the temperature goes below -40C, so that’s a big draw for me.

  32. You can also record in 1440p HD at 60fps, or 1080p at 120fps for capturing footage in super slow motion This is really benefical to me and the number one feature for me.

  43. 622GW due to the magnetic Click and Go mount that keeps the car wire clutter free. I highly dislike wires.
    And the rear cam too.

  48. The Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam Model would be PERFECT because when I drive at night the Night Vision Mode for capturing clear pictures & license plate numbers in low light conditions would be very important features for me.
