Virtual Reality Headset

VR is the gift that opens up entire new realms of possibility. With a Virtual Reality Headset you can explore the depths of the ocean, soar through the clouds, or even discover other worlds beyond imagination. Deliver the incredible sensation of total immersion that lets you become a part of the game with these VR Headsets.

Here are a few excellent options for bringing home a fantastic virtual reality experience this holiday season!

Virtual Reality HeadsetOculus Quest 2

If you are seeking the freedom of an amazing Virtual Reality Headset that doesn’t require an expensive PC to use, look no further than the Oculus Quest 2. This all-in-one VR solution operates entirely on its own, right out of the box. That means you can play the latest VR games and experiences completely free of cables, tethers, and pricey PCs/consoles.

The Oculus Quest 2 features a stunning display with 50% more pixels than the original Quest. It also has its own built-in speakers that deliver cinematic 3-D positional audio. Setup is a breeze via the Oculus App on your smartphone or tablet.

The Oculus Quest 2 truly is everything you need for amazing VR in a single unit. You’ll build an expansive library of Quest content by downloading games and apps directly to the headset itself. Choose between either 64GB or 256GB of internal storage.

However, owners may also access a broader library of Oculus Rift and other compatible PC VR content. This is possible via the Oculus Link Cable, which connects the headset directly to your PC. Connecting the Oculus Quest 2 to a compatible VR-ready PC opens the door for even more incredible virtual reality experiences.

Virtual Reality HeadsetOculus Rift S VR Headset

For a wired headset designed to take advantage of the full power of your VR-ready PC, check out the Oculus Rift S. The Oculus Rift S features next-generation optics for incredible visuals. A native refresh rate of 80Hz means the potential for more frames-per-second, creating a smooth picture for ultimate realism.

Much like the Oculus Quest 2, the Oculus Rift S relies on its own internal cameras. This means that there are no external sensors to set up. Instead, players get hands-on interaction with Oculus Touch Controllers right out of the box, and the freedom to move about their entire play space without fear of tracking or losing sensor range.

The Oculus Rift S is also built with comfort in mind. The lightweight headset offers soft cushioning to ensure players can enter into lengthy play sessions without experiencing fatigue or discomfort over time. Furthermore, its Facebook integration makes it easy to connect with friends and family in VR.

Virtual Reality HeadsetHTC VIVE Cosmos VR Headset

Another powerhouse headset for use with a VR-ready PC or laptop is the HTC VIVE Cosmos. It relies on accurate inside-tracking via 6 built-in cameras that eliminate the need for base station sensors. These offer expansive movement coverage with a wide tracking field-of-view.

In combination, the lenses of the HTC VIVE Cosmos have an impressive 2880 x 1700 resolution. Pair this with a very substantial 90Hz refresh rate, and you have the potential for some incredibly smooth and gorgeous visuals—not to mention an adjustable inter-pupillary distance (IPD) dial that further improves visual comfort and quality.

This Virtual Reality Headset also makes it simple to bounce back and forth between VR and the real world. Its flip-up design snaps back with a simple push of the display and headphones, so you can check in on your surroundings. It also incorporates a lightweight design for all-day comfort while using your favourite games, apps, and more.

Virtual Reality HeadsetPlayStation VR

Owners of a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console have their own Virtual Reality Headset option with PlayStation VR. Compatible exclusively with the PlayStation ecosystem, PlayStation VR is engineered for optimal balance and comfort. It features a six-axis motion-sensing system with a 100 degree field of view for responsive, captivating gameplay.

One of the best benefits of PlayStation VR is its vast, growing library of over 200 games. Many titles are published by Sony and developed by first party studios, meaning that they are exclusive to the PSVR platform. Huge games like Astro Bot: Rescue MissionFirewall: Zero Hour, and Marvel’s Iron Man VR are only playable with PlayStation VR.

PSVR is easy to set up and takes the complexity and expense of running a VR-ready PC or laptop out of the equation. For those who are already most comfortable in the PlayStation environment, it’s far and away the logical choice for making the leap to virtual reality.

NOON VR Pro Headset

Some VR Headsets can take advantage of technology that’s probably already sitting in your pocket. One perfect example is the NOON VR Pro Headset. The NOON VR Pro works in conjunction with select iOS and Android smart phones to transport users to a 360 degree virtual world.

The great thing about the NOON VR Pro is that it leverages the expensive technology you already own, making it a much more economical VR option. It works with most of the latest iOS and Android smartphones with a 4.7″ to 6″ display. With your phone providing the processing power, the headset can render video of up to 11K resolution.

On top of this, its large-diameter lenses offer a 101 degree wide viewing angle, while anti-blue light lenses relieve visual fatigue and deliver a better viewing experience. Lastly, built-in stereo headphones with 118db/mW sensitivity deliver cinema quality sound.

  1. If the last year taught me anything, it’s that a bucket list can be put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. A virtual reality headset would afford me the opportunity to experience and visit some of the places I’ve always hoped to.

  2. If my 10 year old self could see the world we are living in right now, my mind would have been blown away. I’m almost jealous of the younger generation, the audio equipment, gaming systems, tv’s, networking and smart home tech that’s available today is the ‘norm’ and in 30 years the stuff that is blowing my mind now will be the nostalgic old school tech haha.

Anywho, a Quest 2 was gifted to me on release and I can whole heartedly recommend it. With the latest update, it even now supports a 90Hz refresh, so to me it’s the best VR headset on the market. Hard to believe with the Vive and Index grabbing the PC VR market, but it’s true IMO. The display is near 4K (no screen door effect), the 90Hz display is snapppppppy, and with Oculus Link I can confirm PC VR (i.e. yes I’m talking about Half Life Alyx) works remarkably well as well. The portability and power of the Quest 2 make games like Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Saints and Sinners, FitVR, etc etc make VR anywhere possible, you can exercise where you want, bring it to a friends house and blow their mind, or connect it to your PC whenever you are looking for the PC only games or a fidelity bump. I’m rambling, but the Quest 2 is really that good. I’ve since repurchased my PSVR games on it and my Oculus store purchases were surprisingly cross-buy so I can can run the PC VR version via link, or load the Quest 2 version for on the go.
