How to enter our Play at Best Buy contest

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways:

  1. From May 20th to June 30th, in a comment below this article, tell us what gaming gear that is available at Best Buy you would like to get, and how it would improve your gaming experience; you must include the link to that product from the Best Buy website in your comment. 
  2. From June 3rd to June 30th, Best Buy will hide a coin (like the one you see here) somewhere on the Play at Best Buy event page;  click on that coin to reveal a secret code located somewhere on the next page. Once you have the code, email it to bestbuyblog@bestbuycanada.ca with “Play at Best Buy Contest” in the subject. Do not post the code in a comment on the blog. Each Friday during June (for a total of four Fridays) the Best Buy team will place the coin in a new location on the Play at Best Buy event page and clicking on it will lead you to a new secret code that you can then email to the blog team for an additional contest entry. That means you can enter four times by emailing those four unique codes. Make sure to come back to this contest and send each week’s unique code to our email address for the best chance to win! 

What you can win

At the end of this contest we will randomly draw 8 winners from all eligible entries posted on the blog (in English and French) and sent via email; each will receive one of the prize packages listed here: Xbox Series S package, Nintendo Switch OLED package, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition package, Samsung Smart TV, Meta Quest 2, Razer package, HyperX package, and Corsair package.

  31. I would like to get a controller that can be used with Windows 10. It would improve my gaming experience since I currently only use a mouse and keyboard to play games, and it would be better with a controller for games that support using a controller. The Xbox Wireless Controller (2020) with USB-C Cable – Carbon Black (https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/xbox-wireless-controller-2020-with-usb-c-cable-carbon-black/14998604) is the one I would get, since it is not only wireless, but can be used wired.

  35. I’m a lifelong Nintendo fan. The one time I deviated was during a bit of a Wii drought, and I bought an Xbox 360 (in retrospect, should have gone for the PS3).

    So, with that in mind… the backwards compatibility (with improvements even!) of the modern Xbox series is mighty impressive. Would love to revisit some of my old library in higher fidelity.

    But for current-generation games, I think I’d rather have a PS5 than the Xbox.

    The PS5 library would be a great way to supplement my Switch – if only it was easy to get ahold of. (and I could play PS4 games on it too, a great bonus)

  50. I am an old school gamer however the graphics and performance of the Xbox series s does sound amazing. If I won one I would definitely put away my N64 for a while lol
