Not all TVs are created equal. If you’re looking for a new television, one of the first things you will need to consider is the display type you would like to get. For example, while OLED TVs are notorious for producing the deepest black, Mini-LED TVs can’t be outshined in bright rooms.

Some things that might be helpful to keep in mind as you’re looking at your options are: where you will place the television, what type of content you will watch, and how big you would like the display to be. Depending on your answers, you might find that one display type stands out and is better suited for your home theatre than others. 

Should you get an 8K television? 

Another key consideration when shopping for a new television is resolution. Resolution refers to the number of pixels that make up the image. In recent years, 4K TVs have become increasingly popular but the next generation of TVs is already here. 8K TVs such as the Samsung Neo QLED TV we are giving away in this contest boast a resolution of 7680 x 4320 and use four times as many pixels as 4K TVs. On-screen, those numbers translate to even sharper and more detailed images.

However, there’s a but … for now, at least. While 8K TVs are available, most content on streaming platforms is currently either 1080p or 4K, which means that you won’t be able to watch 8K content on your 8K screen. Is it worth getting an 8K TV then? Maybe! An 8K display comes with benefits that may make the scales tip in its favour. For one, 8K TVs can upscale the content you watch to make it as close to 8K as possible so you can enjoy the best image quality possible. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry.   6. I would love to have the Samsung 65′ 8K UHD QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65QN900BFXZC) in stainless steel for my home. I love that the frame of the TV is so thin that it looks like there will be no visible border around the screen. Of course 8k quality and immersive sound are great and all… BUT HAVE YOU SEEN THE FACT THAT IT’S VOICE CONTROLLED?! Never again would I have to stress over a lost remote! Seriously, I considered epoxy gluing a TILE onto my remote at one point so I can find it easier. That’s a great feature!
