The LG G6 4K OLED TV is one of the most exciting premium OLED TVs for 2026. It brings together deep black levels, a major boost in brightness and colour, and a host of smart TV features. In this review, I tested the 55-inch model across different forms of media, from movies and sports to streaming and gaming, to see how it performs in real-world use. With brighter OLED performance, rich colour, deep contrast, and advanced smart TV features, the LG G6 OLED offers a lot to love and even enhances what I watched and played.
But how does it all come together in everyday viewing? Let’s take a closer look with my full review.
LG G6 OLED offers a bright, detailed picture
Picture quality is the biggest standout with the LG G6 OLED, and it is stunning. OLED technology has always excelled in dark rooms, but this model is designed to perform better in brighter spaces, too. The LG G6 keeps the deep blacks and pixel-level contrast that OLED tech is famous for, while adding more brightness and even stronger HDR range.
Impressive range with high contrast content

High-contrast films that rely on HDR look excellent. Bright highlights such as sunlight, sparks, headlights, neon signs, reflections, and glowing effects stand out beautifully against deep black backgrounds. Dark scenes also keep their depth without the grey haze or blooming you can sometimes see on non-OLED TVs.
My family especially enjoyed watching animated movies like Toy Story, which look especially vibrant. Nature documentaries like Lonely Planet were a joy to watch, offering rich colour and texture, and cinematic games like Saros and 007 First Light, really benefit from the added depth.
Reflection Free Premium helps maintain a rich picture
Reflection handling is another major strength for the LG G6 series. LG’s Reflection Free Premium technology helps reduce glare in most rooms with large windows or bright lighting. Direct sunlight or a bright lamp facing the screen can still be noticeable, but the LG G6 OLED handles reflections better than many OLED TVs I have used. That makes it more practical for daytime sports, family viewing, and bright living rooms.
LG G6 features a powerful new processor
The new Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 helps the LG G6 OLED with upscaling, tone mapping, motion, and overall picture refinement. This matters because not everything you watch will be native 4K and optimized for Dolby Vision. Plus, streaming quality can vary, cable broadcasts can look soft, and older content often needs help on a modern 4K screen.
The LG G6 OLED does an excellent job cleaning up lower-resolution content without making the image look overly processed. Older movies still retain texture, while 4K content looks sharp and detailed. Motion is also excellent thanks to OLED’s fast pixel response.

Excellent gaming performance
Gaming is one of the LG G6’s biggest strengths, and it’s an absolute joy to revisit some of my favourite titles. The panel supports 4K gaming at up to 120Hz on consoles and up to 4K at 165Hz on compatible gaming PCs. It also includes VRR, ALLM, NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium, HGiG, Dolby Vision Gaming, and LG’s Game Optimizer dashboard.
For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the LG G6 checks all the right boxes. Games feel fast, responsive, and smooth. Games on the PlayStation 5, like Saros, which has received praise for its HDR design, look even better on the LG G6 than on my LED TV. The low input lag and quick OLED response time make racing games, shooters, action games, and sports titles feel excellent. On PC, the 165Hz support makes the LG G6 feel like a giant premium gaming monitor.
HDR gaming shines on the LG G6

HDR gaming is also fantastic. Racing games like Forza Horizon 6 show off bright skies, reflective cars, sunsets, headlights, and fast motion. Cinematic action games benefit from the deep black levels, while colourful Nintendo games look bold and clean. The Game Optimizer menu is also very helpful because it lets you quickly check frame rate, VRR status, black levels, and latency settings without digging through multiple menus, which is a big plus in my book.
LG G6 OLED offers a premium design
The LG G6 looks sleek and modern right out of the box. Its slim profile, clean edges, and near-borderless screen help it blend beautifully into just about any space. This model includes a supplied wall mount and is designed to be displayed as part of the room rather than just placed on furniture. I decided to mount it on the included stand because it fit my space best and looked great in my entertainment space.

Aside from the TV, stand, and instructions in the box, there is another big highlight: the newly redesigned LG Magic Remote Control. I found it to be far more streamlined than previous iterations, with fewer buttons and a slimmer design. LG’s pointer-style navigation continues to be one of my favourite ways to move through menus, search apps, and adjust settings quickly. Overall, I really like the changes to the remote; it feels better and easier to use with a cleaner interface.
LG G6 OLED connectivity
When it comes to ports, the LG G6 OLED is fully loaded with everything you’ll need for modern AV and video game consoles. It includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, which is exactly what I want from a premium TV. This gives you room for a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, a gaming PC, and a sound bar or AV receiver without constantly having to move cables. eARC support also makes it easy to connect a Dolby Atmos soundbar or home theatre system.
Updated webOS interface

LG’s webOS platform returns, faster and more customizable than its previous iteration. Apps like Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV+, and LG Channels are simple to access. Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay 2 also make it easy to send content from my iPhone and laptop to the G6.
LG has added more AI features this year, including smarter recommendations and voice controls. I found them useful, but still preferred to set things up on my own. The interface is quick and simple, letting you jump into your favourite content without much friction.
If you’re looking for another OLED option, consider LG’s C6H model. It’s one of the most impressive big-screen OLED TVs in LG’s 2026 lineup. Read my comparison of LG G6 vs LG C6 OLED TVs.
