You may think that one computer monitor is much like any other but you would be wrong. Monitors come in different sizes, different styles with different abilities and uses. Enter this contest and you may discover just how great a monitor can be: the prize is a BenQ Zowie Gaming Monitor that is very light, and is designed to handle the faced paced demands of today’s video games. It’s perfect for the student heading back to school, or any home where the computer does more than just spreadsheets.

What makes a monitor great

We are long past the days where the computer monitor occupied a major portion of your computer desk, and was a pain to move because of its weight and awkwardness. Monitors in 2017 keep getting thinner, lighter and brighter so you can work and play without getting eye strain, move them without getting a hernia, and place them on almost any table or desk and they don’t get in the way.

The prize for this contest is a great example of what I’m talking about. The BenQ monitor has the features that anyone would covet in a monitor. The bonus comes if you are into video games, and especially eSports, since this monitor is designed to refresh very quickly so that your focus remains on the game, not on the flickering screen.

BenQ Zowie Console Gaming Monitor Features

We recently sent this monitor to independent blogger Chris Loblaw for an unbiased review. Read the full review yourself, but here are some features that he called out as especially useful:

  • easy setup: great for everyone who upgrades their monitor
  • light and portable: great for taking to eSports turnaments
  • fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions
  • black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with dulling the whole scene
  • low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
  • flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain
  • non-reflective frame: another feature meant to enhance the gaming experience

Right now you may be thinking, “how can I get one of these?” There are two ways: you can just go online and purchase one from Best Buy (that’s the easiest way); you can also enter this contest. Even you don’t need a new monitor yourself, you probably know a student who’ll be going back to school in the fall who would love to get a BenQ gaming monitor.

  1. Réglage eQualizer noir: vous permet d’améliorer les noirs avec la scène entière -> idéal pour les gamers et les autre fonction sont top 😉

  2. My favourite feature of the BenQ gaming monitor mentioned above would definitely be the low blue light to reduce eye strain. I have the feature on my Asus Zenfone 3 that I got at BestBuy and I can tell a huge difference and I love it!

  3. Anything that reduces eye strain is a good thing so the low blue light level works for me

  4. I’m going to have to go with the low blue light even though my girlfriends going to hate the extra hours I spend playing haha.

  5. The feature : low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain will be a must for a night of gaming!

  6. low blue light/flicker free – I catch myself staring at my monitor (basically parked in front of my desktop and sometimes using my tablet & smart phone at the same time LOL) without blinking and have to remind myself
to blink and sometimes close my eyes for a count of 5 – massaging my eyeballs through the eyelids too.

So anything to help reduce eye strain is super important.

Black eQualizer would be nice for some of the Netflix/Prime vids where you don’t even know what you’re [not] seeing without cranking up the brightness to make out what’s on the screen

P.S. correction needed: with or without?
black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with[OUT] dulling the whole scene

  7. BenQ Zowie Gaming Monitor Is the best because of speed and resolution. Perfect for gaming.

  8. Looks amazing. I would love to win that. I would say that the fast refresh rate of 1ms, which is faster than most televisions, is my favourite feature.

  9. Love all the features, but my favourite is probably the “fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions”. And wow, what an awesome contest, Best Buy Canada! This would be a fantastic prize to win……..and just in time, too if I won….as I have a medical trip coming up and being able to take something like this with me to be able to watch my movies or do my gaming on while I’m resting or recovering before and after my appointments would be amazing! (so much better than having to strain at the laptop screen, that’s for sure! Thanks for chance….and good luck to all!

  10. flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain

I can get motion sickness from watching video games but I love watching – this would make it so much better for me and anyone else who suffers from anything similar.

  11. Two reasons for me: low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
    flicker free reduces eye-strain also

  12. My favourite feature is the low level of blue light which drastically reduces eye-strain because I don’t like using technology that makes me feel tired and stressed out.

  13. Two Words: LAN Party.

Having a monitor that is portable and easy to move is always key and beneficial when attending a LAN party once a month. The low blue light is another key feature as sometimes these parties last up to 15hrs (I know right? Sounds like a lot of fun, and believe me they are! Nothing like kicking it old school and being in the same room with friends/family and playing all the classics: Generals, SC, D2, Rise of Nations, Worms, Age of Empires and of course all the new age content!)

    Awesome monitor!
    Cheers.
