Dreame H11 Max wet dry vacuum review

If you love the feeling of a sparkling clean floor but want something that’s easier and quicker to use than a regular mop, wet/dry vacuums are the household cleaner for you. Cordless models like this Dreame H11 Max Wet and Dry Vacuum offer the ease of a cordless upright vacuum, but deliver the incredible results of a mop, too.

What’s in the box of the Dreame H11 Max Wet and Dry vacuum?

In the box of the Dreame H11 Max Wet and Dry Vacuum, you’ll find that the vacuum ships with a separate handle. The handle is easy to click in, and if you ever need to remove it, you can pop its lock with a screwdriver.

Along with the vacuum comes a charging stand, power adapter, two filters, two roller brushes, a cleaning brush, and an accessory holder.

The H11 Max’s main features

The Dreame H11 Max features a runtime of up to 36 minutes with a 0.23 gallon clean water tank that can cover up to 2,152 square feet. It brushes the floor 560 times per minute, auto-adjusting its suction level to deep clean the spots that need it. This vacuum’s used water tank is larger than its clean one, but holds less with a max fill line of 0.13 gallons. This gives the used water tank plenty of space to take in water and filter out particulates.

Dreametech says its H11 and H11 Max are great for the bathroom, kitchen, and balcony, and I have to agree. The wet vacuuming technology is excellent for the whole house, but those areas (and the mudroom) is where it really shines. You can easily clean up spilled milk and cereal, dusty or muddy floors, and dirty bathwater with this vacuum.

Another great feature of the Dreame H11 Wet/Dry Vacuum is the vacuum’s brush roll design. It’s self-cleaning both after and during use. A built-in scraper scrubs the roller brush during use, which stops it from spreading any mess, and its auto-cleaning function in the charging stand makes the brush easy to pull out to air-dry and swap for your other one.

The Dreame H11 also features a smart voice assistant, which verbally echoes the reporting on the vacuum’s screen. It’ll notify you with alerts for things like low battery and water tank needs. A small button on the back of the vacuum allows you to turn these prompts on or off for quieter cleaning, or change the volume or language of the prompts.

Why choose a wet/dry vacuum?

Wet/dry vacuums are fantastic for cleaning up wet, sticky, or damp spills, as well as regular dry floor household maintenance. Models like this one can only be used on hard floors, much like a traditional mop, but they’re so easy to use. Unlike a construction-grade wet/dry shop vacuum, which sucks up wet and dry spills using a dry attachment, household wet/dry vacuums clean up both wet and dry areas using a wet roller head.

Cleaning your floors with a mop and bucket is an exhausting process. It takes a lot of water and rinsing, a ton of physical exertion, and depending on the size of your home, can take all day to complete. As such, many of us (or at least I) don’t mop as often as we’d like to—it’s just too much effort.

With wet and dry vacuums, however, cleaning is easy. The Dreame H11 Max leaves my floors sparkling, and each cleaning session takes mere minutes to complete. My floors dry quickly because wet/dry vacuums don’t leave a ton of water behind, and using them is so simple from start to finish that you can wash your floors on a daily basis if you’d like. Dust, dry crumbs, and wet spills can be cleaned up in under five minutes, no matter if they’re wet or dry.

To choose the wet and dry vacuum for you, let’s first discuss why some wet/dry vacuums available at Best Buy look so similar. Dreame is a Chinese home electronics brand. To explain the vastness of what that means, let’s start our next section with a question.

Dreame vs Lydsto vs Roborock: Why do we see brand overlap?

Have you ever heard the saying that “everything is bigger in Texas”? From houses to entrées, that tends to ring true. The same can be said for China and Chinese products: everything is bigger in China. China’s largest city, Shanghai, has a population of about 26 million people. Compare that Canada’s largest city, Toronto, which has a population of under three million people.

So, it makes a lot of sense that brand ecosystems are also larger in China.

In China’s larger market, associated competitors an afford to cooperate and still thrive—there are more than enough consumers to buy from each brand, even if they quietly share licensing or production facilities. We see a similar phenomenon on a smaller scale in the West. Fashion brands owned by the same parent company may offer a similar style at different price points (think The Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic), while beauty brands often develop a luxury product and then sell the same formula under their drugstore banner (think Kérastase, YSL, and L’Oréal Paris.)

This affects Dreame products because many of them are similar to others on the market. (You can even see Roborock, Lydsto, Xiaomi, and Dreame products next to each other in the Mi Home smartphone app.) The Dreame H11 Max is also very similar to the Tineco iFloor 3 that I recently reviewed, and to the Tineco Floor One S5 that I’ve also reviewed—despite being from different brands.

These wet/dry vacuums are all so similar, in fact, that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as a group. Choose any of these different models based on your home’s aesthetic, needs, and price point and I think you’ll enjoy an almost-indistinguishable user experience.

What I like best about the Dreame H11 Max

My favourite feature about this style of wet/dry vacuum is, as you might have guessed already, how easy it is to use. Despite its sleek, solid build, its parts are easy to install, remove, and clean. The sturdy size feels durable and dependable, and yet it seems to almost weigh nothing when in use.

The H11 Max’s roller generates its own rotation, so it pulls the vacuum along your floor. You don’t need to push it along; you just need to direct it. That means that using the vacuum is no more difficult than using a lightweight stick vacuum. Plus, with a cordless design and a self-scraping roller brush, the H11 Max never spreads messy spots or stains.

Why buy the Dreame H11 Max Wet/Dry Vacuum?

I loved using the Dreame H11 Max. It makes cleaning up floors so easy, and works so much faster than a traditional mop. It’s fairly quiet for what it is, and its design is super simple. There aren’t an overwhelming number of functions to choose from; just auto mode, water absorption mode, and self-cleaning mode. Each one does its job perfectly without any fuss.

To finish using this vacuum, all you need to do is pop it back on its stand (which prevents the damp roller from damaging your floor) and hit the self-cleaning button. It’ll rinse out its roller for you and spin it to damp-dry. Then, all you need to do is remove the roller so it can fully dry (or wash as needed), rinse out the used water compartment, and swap your used filter to your extra filter so it can dry, too. The whole process can be done in a small sink and needs no scrubbing.

If you’re looking for a high-quality wet/dry vacuum that just works, no questions asked, the Dreame H11 Max Wet and Dry Vacuum is one to try.
