xmas2016-drones

Remote controlled planes and helicopters have been around for many years but they never caused the frenzy that we have seen with drones. They have invaded our psyche and become a part of our culture. This is the year that drones have emerged as a cultural phenomenon. You can quickly become the envy of your friends if you win one of the 3 incredible drones that Best Buy is awarding as prizes in this contest.

I am currently reading Dickens’ Bleak House, an amazing story that includes many references to 19th century culture. For example, on page 344 Dickens includes in his descriptions of the Smallweed family, a family that is basically born adult, presumably skipping childhood and childish things, numerous childish games and toys that were popular in his day:

“… her twin brother couldn’t wind up a top for his life. He knows no more of Jack the Giant Killer or of Sinbad the Sailor than he knows of the people in the stars. He could as soon play at leap-frog or at cricket as change into a cricket or a frog himself.”

I am sure that if Dickens was writing in 2016 he would include references to flying a drone. They are here to stay as more and more people are using them for more and more things.  Here are the incredible drones we are offering as prizes in this contest and some of their key features:

  2. For me , the Best drone is the Maverick. It’s so easy to control and take pictures or video like a real professional

  3. The compact Mavic with all it’s features has me sold. As an avid outdoor person , the active track feature as well as the gesture for automatic pics is amazing. I need one of these!

  4. My favorite feature of the DJI Mavic Pro would have to be the Tripod Mode, which allows me to use the Mavic indoors and capture family photos that used to always have me missing in them!

I also love how I could use the Tripod Mode on the Mavic to be creative by producing slow panos around the city. I think its amazing by letting me capture really dynamics stills using this feature of the Mavic.

  5. obstacle avoidance sensing system is like having an insurance policy. Protects against harm while traveling!

  6. I love the 4K video – simply amazing quality video that you are able to take from even more amazing angles!

  7. This is a great give away. All the drones and cool but having them do 4k video is sweet. Imagine the views. Epic

  8. The obstacle avoidance and tracking feature on the DJI Phantom 4. I have read it is better than some of the pro series.

  9. my favourite feature is the DJI Phantom 4 4K’s obstacle avoidance system. It would be foolish to count on me to handle that .

  10. As a drone newbie, I like that the Phantom 3 is “easy to fly” which hopefully means I’ll have early success and a lower likelihood of crashing it!

  11. The Mavic sounds great — the foldable feature so as to be compact and lightweight to carry easily (really? the size of a water bottle?!), plus the fact it still has a 4K camera built in; that’s what drew my attention.

  12. DJI MAVIC Foldable Quadcopter Drone with 4K UHD Camera & Controller: Foldable, lightweight, travels up to 65km/h, easy to fly front obstacle avoidance, 4K video and photos
This would be the best feature I can see as the photos and videos produced are likely amazing. I love taking photos in different locations with all the kids in the family and this would be an awesome prize.
