More big news is emerging from the Nintendo camp today. The October 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini focuses on cloud gaming for Nintendo Switch, as well as new details on a swath of games coming to the console. Take a look at some of today’s tantalizing announcements!
Cloud gaming on Nintendo Switch
The biggest news from the October 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini for many is undoubtedly the addition of two new games coming to the Switch via cloud streaming. The first up is Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version.
Releasing in 2019, Control is the winner of numerous “Game of the Year” awards. It’s even the pick of our own Matthew Rondina. This one is available to play right now!
We also now know that Agent 47’s next adventure will be playable via cloud streaming on Nintendo Switch as well. We will see Hitman 3 – Cloud Version on the console somewhere down the line, although there is currently no firm release date.
Bravely Default II is coming in February 2021
Fans of the Bravely Default series have been keeping a close eye on the “2020” release date posted on Nintendo’s site with eager anticipation. As of today we no longer have to wonder. The October 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini confirms that Bravely Default II will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on February 26th, 2021.
Nintendo will also be releasing another video regarding the upcoming JRPG soon. This will provide more in-depth detail on how the developer is incorporating feedback from the current demo, available in the Nintendo eShop. They are committing to rework the game’s difficulty, control scheme, and more—all thanks to player input.
Play the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity demo right now
Finally, the October 2020 Nintendo Direct Mini takes a closer look at Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. This Zelda adventure is one of the biggest titles still to release this year. Switch owners will be able to return to Hyrule on in just a few short weeks. The official release date is November 20th, 2020.
Of course if you would like a taste of the action, the wait is already up. A demo version of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available via the Nintendo Switch eShop right now! Gamers can play through the entire first chapter of the game. Best of all, progress will carry over to the final release.

I was so excited to see Immortals Fenyx Rising in this Direct Mini. It is definitely my most anticipated Fall 2020 title! The graphics looked good in the trailer too, I would guess that Nintendo would have wanted them to use Switch footage for the trailer so I’m happy with how it looks on Switch so far.
Thanks Dave! I look forward to checking out Best Buy’s reviews of many of these games!
Thanks Ian, I have to admit Immortals Fenyx Rising wasn’t on my radar before the direct (I’ll admit it—mostly because what a terrible name!), but after seeing the trailer I’m definitely more curious now.
