On July 5, Bandai Namco Entertainment presented its anime-style video games at the 2024 Anime Expo. The presentation began with details of the latest updates for the current titles of its flagship franchises. Several of its fighting games are in a new season currently or coming soon. This includes NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM Connections and Dragon Ball: The Breakers, which is in its sixth season. I was waiting for announcements of the main titles planned for the upcoming year. That’s what I’ll talk to you about!
Bleach: Rebirth of Souls
Unveiled at the event, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls brings the series back to the forefront. Based on the manga and anime, the characters walk the line between good and evil in a universe where spirits coexist with humans.
In the game, players embody a warrior whose sword-fighting mechanics are central to the action. You can select your favourite hero from those in the franchise, perfect their moves, and enjoy each character’s iconic powers. Gain power as the opponent gains the upper hand, and then release a new form of your sword to turn the tide of battle and secure an unexpected victory! Sometimes, it only takes one well-timed strike to make a difference.
With no release date yet, little is known about the complete storyline. However, I liked the images we’ve seen. The more mature graphic style of the game seems perfectly suited to Bleach’s dark and violent storyline. Our protagonist is a Shinigami, after all—a soul reaper.
Bleach: Rebirth of Souls will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream
This cooperative action game brings together characters from the entire Sword Art Online and Gun Gale Online franchises in an alternative version of the story. Galaxia is a new system that allows players to relive past events, newly integrated into ALfheim Online. Uncontrollable, it starts to pull in players from different places and eras. To restore time and space, Kirito will need to team up with his long-lost friends, as well as his enemies.
More than twenty players can have fun online with an equal number of playable characters in one to five groups of four players. Each belongs to a unique combat class with its own attributes. Available in crossplay, players from different consoles can unite in online dungeon raids against countless creatures and larger-than-life bosses. Its unique combat system will allow players to easily switch from one teammate to another.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO
Anime Expo is an opportunity for fans present and online to see the creators of their favourite games on stage. For Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, they had a chance to see actor Chris Rager, who voices the character Mr. Satan. Plus, it was his birthday! We saw some footage focusing on the powers and abilities of this specific character.
If it’s possible, the fights will be more dynamic, colourful, and crazy than ever in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. The well-known heroes of the Budokai Tenkaichi series will once again face off in arenas with destructible environments. With larger-than-life powers, there’s no doubt that players will have a blast in this new adventure where characters can fuse for maximum carnage.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will be released on October 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Gundam Breaker 4
The Gundam fighting game is back. In Gundam Breaker 4, more than two hundred and fifty base kits will offer players the opportunity to build their ideal Gunpla. Customization is one of the game’s key elements. Your fighter will look exactly how you want it with paint, treatments, wear, and decals to make it unique. By putting your Gunpla to the test using the new dual-weapon combat system, you’ll be able to detach pieces from your enemies to add to your collection. A diorama mode will allow you to display your Gunpla with a background and special effects to create epic and dynamic scenes to share online!
Starting July 18, Bandai Namco will launch a testing phase to test the game’s multiplayer servers. It’s an opportunity to try Gundam Breaker 4 with friends and see how the game performs.

Bandai Namco announces its releases for the upcoming year
Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase 2024 provided news about their upcoming anime-style games. Given that the presentation was held at the 2024 Anime Expo, it makes sense to focus on these. Fans of colourful fighting games will have several games to sink their teeth into from Bandai Namco. Autumn, in particular, will be filled with action!
