Home theatre projector

I don’t know about you, but the impending arrival of summer has me excited to go outdoors and stay outdoors. And while sunny summer days get a lot of the glory, summer evenings are special too, bringing comfortably warm air, crickets chirping, and clear, star-filled skies. Why then, would you want to go indoors to watch television when you could be outside watching television? With the BenQ MH535A home theatre projector, this dream could be a reality.

New projector, classic entertainment

Next door to my childhood home lives a family with a tradition I particularly like: every summer the children’s birthday parties end with an outdoor movie. Gaggles of giddy, cake-fueled kids all gather together and hush their voices as they watch a film play across a white bed sheet. From across the street you can see the movie playing in the dim twilight, illuminating the little faces gazing at it. It’s a simple scene, but you can sense that precious memories are beginning to crystallize.

I love how it brought the past into today. There was a time when you would have to go to the drive-in or lug a cumbersome machine outside to make this happen. Now, with projectors you can make your yard like a drive-in theatre and create that connection and novelty that’s sometimes missing from the modern movie-watching experience.

With a projector like the BenQ MH535A, the set up is simple and the joy is instant. It has adjustable feet, so it could be placed on a backyard table without worrying about wobble.  It also has different viewing modes, including one for non-white walls, so if all you have is a pink sheet handy, well, that’ll work just fine.  And with 3600 lumens that improve colour vibrancy, your movie will look just as good under the stars as it does in your basement.

A BenQ MH535A projector brings modern magic to movie night

Imagine the romantic date night you could have or how much fun it would be to watch sports with friends from the comfort of your backyard. It has a 1080p resolution, 15,000:1 high native contrast, plus input options like a dual HDMI and VGA so you can connect most media players, PCs, and Macs. But don’t just take my word for it, have a read of Jacob McCourt’s review:

The possibilities are endless with the BenQ MH535A home theatre projector, and we’re giving you a chance to bring that nostalgia and entertainment home.

    Thank you

  3. I’m torn to pieces between Death Race 2000 and The Big Bus – I’m taking The Big Bus – it’s safer

  4. Top Gun would be the first movie that I would watch if I won this. I’ve seen it so many times and reminds me of my motorcycling days.

  5. Would love to binge watch The Fresh Prince of Bel-air on this projector. My favourite show of all time!

  6. The Lord of the Rings trilogy would be a great series to watch with this projector.

  7. For me it would have to be Knight Rider . I was a kid when I started watching and watch it to even this date. Amazing show so ahead of its time which really rooted my interest in cars and automotive technology.

  8. I’d have to say the original Star Wars trilogy. On VHS, before the ‘enhancements.’ It means the projectors high definition wouldn’t be taken advantage of, but it’d allow me to experience the movies on a simulation of the big screen, in all their original glory.

  9. I’m such a sucker for the original Saw movie, I would go back and watch that over and over again!

  10. I would love to watch the first iron man movie on the BenQ projector. I loved it my first time and it would be great to see it on the “big screen” again to cap off the saga.

  11. I saw someone else said A Christmas Story. That would be a fantastic movie to watch with the projector. I would also love to watch Christmas Vacation. Love my Christmas movies.

  12. I would love to watch some old sit-coms, like hogans heroes, MASH, All in the Family etc. So many to list.

  13. Have been looking for the perfect outdoor projector for a while now.
waking of Ned Devine would be my first to share with the kids and friends in the backyard. Such a good heartfelt story of friendship.

  14. I would love to watch Back to the Future Movies using this projector – movies that our whole family enjoys and would be great for watching with friends over on the big screen!

  15. If I win, the first thing I’m doing after hooking up my BenQ M535A projector is inviting the all my friends over for a marathon of the Star Wars movies, starting with the originals! Can’t get a better movie-watching experience than that!

  16. When you say nostalgic, I say Sandlot. Being able to have a party outside with fireworks like in the film remind me of this. Great opportunity to bring people together and have a great time! Cheers!

  17. First movie I’d watch would have to be the dark knight. One the greatest films of all time in my opinion

  18. When I think of a nostalgic movie, the ‘Back to the Future’ movies come to mind. The Doc makes the movies great, such a wise and eccentric character guiding Marty.
