Versatile, go anywhere portable speakers are made for summer. I’ve had a bunch sitting at my desk waiting for summer to arrive so that I could give them away. And now is the best time since Best Buy has just started their “Sounds of Summer” event! This event is a great way to learn which speaker, indoor or outdoor, and which headphones—wired, wireless, or True wireless—is right for you. At the same time, enter our contests. In the first of several contests for audio technology that we’ll be running during this event we are giving away a great selection of portable speakers that were reviewed on the blog. So, enter now, and return regularly to discover new audio related contests all summer long.

Portable speakers are a great place to start for music in the summertime

Music does many things for me: sometimes it’s relaxing, sometimes it’s energizing. But always it’s welcome! I use a variety of speaker types around my home. In my garden, though, it’s a portable speaker from Sony, I’ve had it for a couple years; it keeps me entertained and singing outside. Like most portable speakers, it connects to my smartphone via Bluetooth, and I can easily control the volume from the speaker or from my phone. It holds a charge for hours and I move it around as I need to so my music goes wherever I go. There are new, more powerful speakers available now from Sony and I might be looking to upgrade soon.

What to do with all of these speaker samples

Many of the speakers carried at Best Buy arrive at my desk for me to send for reviews … so I have tried a lot of different kinds. When they return from the bloggers, I am often asked to give them away in a contest. That’s the situation with all of these. Great speakers that have only come out of the box for a short test and now are in need of a good home where they’ll be used and appreciated. There are 3 pairs of awesome Marshall speakers, 3 pairs of awesome Sony speakers, and one fantastic Ultimate Ears Hyperboom party speaker. Think about where you would use a new portable speaker and enter this contest.

  1. Wow – I would love to win the MARSHALL TUFTON SPEAKER – looks like an awesome product – that can give me a rich powerful sound – just what this senior needs (so I don’t need to use my hearing aide!!) Also I read that it can give me a 30 foot range as well – how sweet is that feature too. Thanks for sharing these prizes with us.

  2. Hi there! Thanks for the chance! I’m most interested in the Jabra Elite Sport In-Ear Truly Wireless Headphones. There is a lot going on in my home, so a high quality, in-ear device is the best solution for me. Thanks!

  3. My favourite is the Ultimate Ears BOOM 3 Waterproof Bluetooth Wireless Speaker that comes with POWER UP Charging Dock that makes it easy to recharge as needed, with up to 15 hours of listening music. The 360-degree sound means you can have a backyard party & entertain everyone. Being compact & waterproof in case of a downpour is a BIG bonus too. Thank you

  4. The very cool JBL PartyBox 100 Bluetooth Wireless Speaker will get the party going in the entire backyard streaming my family’s playlists & also have my guests take it over by connecting their smartphones via Bluetooth. The 12-hour battery life means it can run all night and even has cool RGB LED light patterns that sync with the music to give off the perfect party vibe. So much fun !!
