Arlo security cameras can help make any home more secure, whether you are home or away from home. The peace of mind you get while you are sleeping is nothing compared to the calm you feel while on holidays, still able to see your home with the app on your phone or tablet. They are a versatile and reliable way to be aware of everything happening near your home. This is especially true of the Arlo camera bundles, like the Essential bundle we are giving away in this contest. Learn more about how this bundle is essential for travellers, then enter for a chance to win one.
Why prowlers don’t like Arlo cameras
Last week, a neighbour posted on our community Facebook page that he had a prowler on his property the previous night. His dog was “yapping like crazy” he said and he saw the back of a dark figure running down his driveway. He had no idea who it was and could not give much of a description. I’m sure this particular prowler didn’t like that this property had a dog. However, they would have really hated if it had Arlo cameras capturing a crystal clear picture on video that could be instantly shared with neighbours and with the police.
The Arlo Essential camera bundle we are giving away gives better security than a dog for many reasons. A dog might bark, which might potentially scare off an intruder (but not always since brazen thieves might not care if a dog is inside the house). However, when the camera suddenly illuminates the area, the natural first thing to do is to look into the light. At that instant the thief knows they have been captured on video, and that video has already been sent to the cloud. There is nothing they can do at that point. Another reason that this bundle is better than a dog is because it comes with four cameras, for equally strong security coverage at multiple sites in or around your home. Lastly, this security is equally strong even if you and your dog are not home. While you are on holidays, your dog may be with a friend or family member. Your cameras, however, are placed at essential locations around your home: they’re wireless so you will move them around as you please inside and outside your home. You can access the footage, and share clear HD video of nasty prowlers, no matter where you are in the world.
Rethink what is essential for your next trip so you don’t forget anything
Forgetting is normal, it’s human—but it’s also frustrating! Preparation is the key to a vacation with everything essential taken care of. Will you be travelling somewhere this spring or summer? Check out our travel buying guide well before you leave to help you prepare. Our intention was to make it broad enough so that it could help as many people as possible. That article has five sections to help you focus on the many things you might want to consider before your next trip. You’ll noticed, that the last section is about home security: often this is the last thing people think about. Hopefully one lasting impact you get from entering this contest, whether you win the Arlo Essential camera bundle prize or not, is that you take care of home security well before your next trip.

Win an Arlo Essential smart home camera bundle Rules and Regulations
Good Luck!
For me I would rather have the arlo camera system. it gives me 24/7 peace of mind and my cute cuddly dog can then take as many naps as it needs to without worrying about guarding the house 🙂
I think people would forget a water bottle which I think is essential and perhaps a fitness tracker which could be used for exploring a new area.
I would rather have an Arlo camera as a guard dog would be a continuing expense and he/she couldn’t take photos for evidence and/or could be hurt.
Arlo – so easy to maintain
People often forget spare batteries & power adapters
I would like to have both. The dog would act as a backup system if the camera loses power or network access.
I think the camera; the Arlo is quieter than a dog
I would love To have an Arlo camera. We are seniors and would love the security. Dogs need to be fed and cleaned up after.
Two things people forget are a travel power adapter and a backpack
I’d rather have an Arlo camera system because it is less maintenance
I would like both the Arlo camera system and a dog as our internet is not reliable where we live. A dog would be a back up and perhaps a deterrent,
Theft is at an all time high where I live, so I’d like the cameras in case of buglers.
I would like the Arlo security system as its nice to have more security when you are at home or away from home just so you can monitor the place.
2 things people tend to forget is the luggage scale and end up trying to rearrange their luggage at the airport. the 2nd is the travel adapter to charge your devices while flying or in airports.
I would pick the arlo as i can see for myself who or what is happening in my house when i am not around
Aldo Camara will be the perfect option since the Dog could be distracted by a juicy meal. Lol and I can see my porch in the phone from the Camara in my Job.
The 2 essential accessories & always bring when traveling is my camera & accessories. I love to enjoy the pictures when I get home to see the memories I have made. I have found that hotels, cruise ships etc. have WiFi & free use of computers so my lap top would just be extra weight when packing. I bring a cell phone, charger & adapter for emergencies though.
Being a single senior who doesn’t own a dog & couldn’t afford the food & vet bills anyway, I would lover the Arlo camera system. It would certainly help me feel safe in my own home.
I’d like an Arlo smart camera. I won’t need to find dog sitters when we’re gone.
ARLO, AS I’M NOT HOME A LOT.
ARLO – EASY TO MAINTAIN
Only the Arlo camera over dog as I like to travel a lot
People forget to bring a travel adapter and a tripod for amazing photos of a travel group.
I would rather have an Arlo security system so that I have constant coverage with multiple views of my house when I am away from my home.
I prefer an arlo camera system, dogs are bad at providing a description.
I would rather have the Arlo security camera system cuz you have proof when someone’s trying to break in or doing whatever else and you don’t have to walk it twice a day.
I think most people probably forget to bring a water bottle and power bank.
I would like both. The camera is great for capturing anything, but the dog will alert you in advance.
Two things people forget when travelling are a water bottle and a travel voltage adapter.
Two things for travel forgotten are a power bank and tablet.
just a camera now, have had two great dogs in my life
A camera security system but a dog guard supplement might give 110% coverage and keep people far away from cameras
Both, I miss my Doberman ( who was a lapdog) but intimidated strangers though a camera system would be great.
Essential security – the Arlo is quieter than a dog
I would rather have an camera Dogs hate me so dont want a snarling dog!
Two essential things mentioned in the buying guide that most people tend to forget before going on a trip:
(1) Luggage size is important; and,
(2) Power banks ensure that devices get charged.
We have a dog which we are keeping. But we don’t have a camera system. So we would like both the guard dog and an arlo camera system.
Luggage organizers and power banks are 2 things people forget when travelling.
I would rather have an Arlo than a dog. Dogs bark too much.
I would rather have an Arlo camera system over a dog because of all of it’s great security features. A dog barks but this camera system really has my back!
a guard dog, an arlo camera I would love-I already have 2 great dogs now so need the camera and power bank and adapter and ear plugs are the most forgotten items!
Luggage orangizers and travel accessories. two essential things mentioned in the buying guide that you think most people tend to forget before going on a trip.
arlo camera system! Without answering the door, we can see who’s there before first. Lately our neighborhood has had one person ring the doorbell and when someone answers, there’s a group of people waiting to rob them. It’s scary!
Having a unlocked cell phone to buy sim card there. Keeping your home safe with cameras or smart lights for faking “house activities”.
Only the arlo camera cause I’m allergic to dogs!
I wouldn’t have ever thought to bring an unlocked phone on a trip let alone a power adapter and power bank.
I have two dogs, but people know they are in the house, so our porch and sheds are fair game. I would prefer to have both, but with my husband still laid off, not an option right now.
Two things I think people might forget to take when travelling would be a travel power adapter and a power bank.
I would like to have a guard dog and an Arlington camera system. By having both you would cover your bases should someone attempt to break into or rob your home. The dog would keep most people away and if they got past the cameras would record the person and their activity.
I hear nothing but good things about Arlo cameras. I would love to win one but if not, I am definitely going to consider buying one. These days we all need security cameras.
