Intel consistently improves computer performance year over year for everyone, from students to artists, business people to gamers. Not surprisingly, Intel is also critical to your success at the most intensely demanding activity for any computer: PC Gaming. Enter for a chance to win a high performance, Intel powered, gaming computer from Intel and Best Buy.
All gamers are welcome
What kind of gamer are you? It’s been said that variety is the spice of life and there are many kinds of PC gamer. Some people stick exclusively to simple PC games that work on any machine; others prefer highly demanding PC games they play on custom built water-cooled machines with the fastest Intel processor available. A recent study concluded that there are six distinct types of PC gamers:
- Alpha: Highly enthusiastic, cross-platform, social, influential, and competitive gamer; high knowledge of PC components especially as it affects gaming.
- Purist: PC-centric, preferring stationary, immersive gaming; likely to customize PC hardware.
- Enthusiast: passionate about the latest gaming trend, loves PC Gaming but also mobile/smartphone gaming; moderate hardware knowledge
- Pragmatist: hobbyist preferring stationary/solitary gaming; knowledgeable about hardware but pragmatic about which computer works for their needs
- On-the-go: gaming on the go is most important; satisfied with easy to use PC products
- Casual: gaming is a quick escape and usually a stationary activity; not very knowledgeable about PC hardware
Think about where you fit into this framework, and what kind of games you most like to play.

Win an Intel powered gaming computer Contest Rules and Regulations
Hello,
I have considered myself a casual gamer and always have since I was a kid. Playing MMO’s and other online games have provided me with an opportunity to meet great people all across the world and provide an escape into alternative realms after a day of work.
I’ve always preferred be able to move from one place to another so a laptop would be beneficial to that of a desktop, particularly the Alienware m15. Thank you for considering me!
I’m more of an enthusiast! I have been playing on Consoles, PC, and even mobile when I commute. I have been dreaming about the HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (the one with an i9 and a RTX2080Ti) of home gaming and the Asus Zephyrus S 15.6″ for on the go. It would be awesome to get one of those!
Always will be a purist! I have gamed across different plantforms but always end up revolving around a PC.
Idea laptop would be the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin
I was a purist but since I’m moving a lot and sometimes I don’t have the time and space to set up my stationary gaming PC so I’ve become on-the-go gamer. I’ve always wanted a spec’s out desktop but now I dream about having a powerful gaming laptop that I can just bring and start playing right away. That is why my dream system is HP OMEN 15.6″ Gaming Laptop – Shadow Black (Intel Core i7-9750H/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2060) .
I am a mix between Alpha and Enthusiast, and my dream laptop would be the Alienware m15.
I consider myself a casual gamer as I usually only have a few hours a week for gaming – but reading your descriptions, I definitely fit better in the *pragmatist* category. I built my entry-level gaming PC and upgrade it from time to time to keep up with the latest games.
The *Dell G5 Gaming PC* would be perfect for my needs as it is fast and powerful, but most of all, easily upgradable.
I’ve always just been a casual gamer. Recently branched into PC gaming so I’m slowly getting the ropes of it all. I’ve been primarily on console up until last year. So far so good!
I am a casual gamer & would love the Acer Predator Orion 3000 Gaming PC
Hi. I am a Purist.
My dream gear is
Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 9700/1TB HDD/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080)
Thanks
Purist for sure, gaming has always been a passion of mine and Alienware PC’s have always been in my stable of on the go gaming when I’m away on work. That alienware m15 would be fantastic and it’s something I’ve had my eye on for the last couple months, and with the current climate would be great to win one as its currently been postponed. Stay safe everyone and good luck!
I have been gaming for many years now, I enjoy single player games and multiplayer games. I would like to say that I am an Enthusiast when it comes to gaming I love Intel products. I build my own computers as well for my friends. I currently own a i7 6700k with a gigabyte extreme motherboard(6th gen) and gigabyte gtx 1080. I would like to say its keeping up very well with the current meta so far. As for a laptop i do not own one but would like to win one if possible.
All the best of luck guys.
I am a pragmatist for sure. I know what I need to run what I would like! My dream gear is the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop. I desperately need a new machine! Thanks!
I’m an enthusiast, I game on pretty much every platform.
If I had to choose my PC I would go guns blazing with a powerful HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti).
Gaming in 4k 60-120fps with Ray tracing would be sweet.
Purist here. The HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti) would certainly be the machine of my dreams.
I am a Purist. Or use to be when my computer could run the latest games. Now I am stuck playing older games and would one day love to get back to newest games with the Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti)
I think I am a pragmatist since I know a little about the hardware in computers and focus more on gaming.
My Ideal PC would be the Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 9700/1TB HDD/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080).
I am a purist. My dream PC would be Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti)
Alpha, extremely competitive in League of Legends so when my fps drops to below 20, I get pissed off at my laptop. This also caused me to be very knowledgeable about laptop and pc parts as it made me research for a better laptop. The one I want right now is the ASUS Zephyrus Laptop.
Alpha here, had my start with of gaming and Cs:source so I’ve been around the block. And an Alienware gaming desktop with an i7 would definitely be sexy
Purist ! PC master race
I would love to have this laptop to LAN with m’y friends.
Thanks !

I’m a purist.
Had the current laptop I have for over 10 years now so it’s pretty outdated. I normally play on my desktop setup, but winning this would allow me to play on the go. (Albeit being stuck in the house due to corona weather lol).
I would say I am a Pragmatist. If I have more time and budget, I would be more enthusiast
Ideal laptop:
ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060)
I would say that I’m a casual gamer. I’m not highly competitive at games and just play for fun.
The ASUS Zephyrus S thin 15.6” would be ideal for me
Pragmatist.
I’m normally pretty conservative on my components, so dream build would probably be an Alienware R9 desktop or M17 laptop. A Zephyrus S does sound awesome though.
I think I’m more of a pragmatist, but the Alienware Area 51m is what I hope for
Enthusiast:. Love new tech about computer. Saw the review on The ASUS Zephyrus S on YouTube by Dave le, love it. From look and spec it handle anything. The thing that is different is the customization light. Very cool
Casual.
Dont know much but the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060) looks pretty damn good.
I’m an Enthusiast
I started out as a purist, but over the years and as travel became a part of like I changed to be more of an enthusiast gamer. I am passionate about latest trends and I can be often found watching streams of the top gamers. I love good hardware but due to busy life I have found myself resorting and enjoying mobile gaming! I’m an Asus fan boy, my motherboards, graphics cards and a laptop have all been Asus. ASUS Zephyrus for the win.
I’ve always been a purist! I’ve tried gaming all other ways but always go back to PC.
My dream PC would be HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti) for some serious gaming horsepower.
I am a purist. I love playing new games and customizing my pc, but also find my way back to the classics I grew up with. Half life 2 and day of the tentacle anyone? A white Alienware Aurora Gaming PC with an Intel Core i7 9700 and a GeForce RTX 2080? I could play anything with that!
I would consider myself a On-the-Go gamer. I have never been able to afford a Gaming PC or Laptop. I used to game A TONNE back when I was in school and really really miss it! Nothing beats a gaming laptop now that I’m stuck using my phone for most gaming now.
However, in all honesty, after after looking at the different models, Alienware has always drawn my eye. I really love the specs and look of the Alienware m15 15.6″ Laptop (Intel Core i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GTX 1660 Ti).
Thank you!
I am an alpha, I’ve build many different computers over the years and I enjoy PC hardware. My laptop of choice would be the Asus Zephyrus. I would love to have such a slim laptop with lots of power!
I am a Purist
My dream machine is the Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 RTX 2080).
Purist for sure! My dream machine would undoubtedly be the Asus Scar III 15.6in. I’ve been looking forward to investing in a beast like this one that could not only allow me to do my daily resource intensive school work, but also get back home and optimize it to be a stationary gaming powerhouse. 🙂
I’d say I’m a Pragmatist. I love gaming, but I’m also a travel and sports photographer on top of being a climber so I need a good overall laptop that I can carry around with me easily. The ASUS Zephyrus S Thin would be pretty ideal because it’s not too big and has loads of RAM for editing (on top of being a gaming beast). Although right now I’m looking into a budget gaming laptop (I ain’t made of money), I wouldn’t mind winning an insane laptop as the Zephyrus or Alienware!
Purist here.
I’d want a laptop since I build my own desktops.
The Alienware m17, if I had to choose. New design isn’t as “gamer”; not as ostentatious to use outside . Larger screen to minimize hunchback and neck craning!
I’m a pragmatist! Grew up on console and PC gaming but now it’s become a weekend hobby as I tackle my FT job as a teacher. Choosing any hardware now requires research and value judgments! That ASUS Zephyrus S laptop would be incredible!
I am a pragmatist, but if I had the time would be more enthusiast
The ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060) in this contest would be perfect!
I used to be a Purest, but after getting married and having children, I’m a Pragmatist at best. My dream machine is the Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 RTX 2080). All that power in such a pretty little box!
Purist
Id go for a custom built, not that u guys do it or know how to properly make one.
Geek squad more like weak squad
Doing it for the contest
Purist over here. Working with tight budgets seems to hold me back from getting high-end specs. It leaves me customizing a build based on value vs overall FPS.
But, the HP Omen Obelisk Gaming PC (Intel Core i9-9900K/512GB SSD/2TB HDD/32GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080Ti) would be the dream machine that wouldn’t hold me back!
Alpha: Highly enthusiastic, cross-platform, social, influential, and competitive gamer; high knowledge of PC components especially as it affects gaming.
Enthusiast, ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop.
Purist
PC master race
ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060)
Enthusiast extremely into the PC vr gaming right now I built my PC with best buy components the graphics cards a bit soft for what I need it for.
The ASUS Zephyrus S would rock socks if I won this competition
I would say I’m casual gamer in this stage of life. This looks neat: ASUS Zephyrus S Thin Gaming Laptop
I’d be classified as an Alpha; love editing video as well.
The bestbuy desktop below is an insane machine, definitely a dream machine:
Cybertron BLU-Print Workstation (Intel Core-i9 9980XE, 128GB DDR4 3200MHz, Dual Quadro RTX 6000 24GB, 5TB Samsung SSD)
Alpha / Purist and dream system would actually be the ASUS Zephyrus S Thin because it is portable and that’s what I’ve been looking for as of recent
I’m a pragmatist! ASUS Zephyrus S Thin 15.6″ Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-9750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 2060)
I would love a new laptop! Mine has been having many issues so I was looking around for a new one and the ASUS Zephyrus S thin was one that I was keeping in mind.
I am definitely an enthusiast and the ASUS Zephyrus would be the laptop of my dreams
A purist through and through. Have been building computers since the mid 90s and am always looking for the next upgrade. My gaming PC is typically a Frankenstein’s monster of parts with a rebirth cycle of about 5 years. My dream computer would be the CLX Set Ryzen 9 machine with the 2080 super in it. Certainly out of financial reach, though.
I’m a casual gamer. I would go with a Cybertron BLU-Print Workstation (Intel Core-i9 9980XE, 128GB DDR4 3200MHz, Dual Quadro RTX 6000 24GB, 5TB Samsung SSD) because it’s ridiculously over the top and not designed strictly for gaming. A computer doesn’t need to be all about one task.
I am a pragmatist and really like the Alienware m17 laptop!
Definitely a pragmatist. I have some knowledge of computer specs and hardware, but it is a hobby that is geared towards gaming.
Ideal PC:
Alienware Aurora Gaming PC – White (Intel Core i7 9700/1TB HDD/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/GeForce RTX 2080)
I’m a purist
