Multi-core CPUs have been a mainstay in PCs (and mobile devices) for over a decade. The innovation of having multiple cores in a single processor —each able to run software in parallel— has led to significant performance boosts. Quad-Core used to be the high end in consumer PCs, but now Hexa-Core chips are making it into the mainstream through computers like HP’s new Pavilion x360 Convertible. Here’s why you might want a Hexa-Core processor in your next PC.

LCD, LED, HDTV, 3D, 4K, IPS. OMG, right? Ok, that was pretty cheesy, but it was meant to illustrate a point – TVs these days are much more complex than they were only 10 years ago. Not only do you have to understand what all those acronyms mean, you have to understand what constitutes good value. Sure, you could spend the equivalent of one month’s salary on a 60” LED Smart TV, but why would you when you could get much more for your money with the Panasonic 60” 1080p 120Hz IPS LED Smart TV (AS630).       Most Internet enabled devices come with WiFi these days, but not all do. Tablets are great devices for doing many things. They truly are the embodiment of multi-purpose technology. You can use a tablet to watch videos, play games, read books, surf the web, take photos, listen to music, participate in a video conference or write a report. But there is a huge range of options to choose from and despite the fact that they’re all “multi-purpose” devices, some tablets are better suited from some purposes than others. In this post, I single out tablets that have a reputation for being ideal for different activities.  

Let’s face it, laundry isn’t a whole lot of fun. It’s certainly not how I like to spend my evenings, I can tell you that much. I mean, there are just so many steps! You’ve got to sort your clothes, lug them to the machine, put them in, press a button, wait … take them out, put them in another machine, press another button, and then wait some more before you take them out and fold them. It’s excruciating. It’s also pretty sad that I’m not alone in my disdain for laundry, especially when you consider the fact that electric washers and dryers as we know them today, like those from consumer appliance giant Frigidaire, have only been around for about 100 years.

Loved by critics, Sleeping Dogs was very much Grand Theft Auto, but in the streets of Hong Kong. You know what Borderlands is all about, if you haven’t played it… well, I’m not sure what’s wrong with you. But you’ve at least  seen it, or heard about just how awesome it is (because it is) and why. Now picture that, but in low gravity on the surface of the moon, and Bob’s your Uncle. Sound Fun? Of course it does. It’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

I’m not going to lie – I have a love/hate relationship with the NBA, and have for the last 15 years. However, if there’s one thing consistently that falls into the “love” category, it’s the NBA 2K series. With the exception of a glitch that made me rage quit NBA 2K13, I’ve been a loyal series fan for years now, moreso since NBA 2K11 rocked our worlds and turned the series into the juggernaut it is now.  This year’s edition promises to be no different.
