Madden NFL 26 uses a new AI-driven system trained on nearly a decade of real NFL data. EA calls it “Built from Sundays,” and it powers many of this year’s biggest changes. Coaching staff also matter more this year. Coordinators and assistants have their own goals and skill trees, and helping them grow can improve your team’s performance.
Your coach’s job security depends on more than wins and losses. Approval ratings and in-game decisions shape your relationships and determine how long you keep your role. You can also prep with extra Playsheets and plan counters based on the traits of opposing players and coaches.
Franchise Mode also benefits from faster load times this year, one of the most requested fixes after Madden NFL 25. You’ll also notice the game looks and sounds more like real football. Scott Hanson now hosts the halftime show with updates during your season, and custom broadcast packages give prime-time games a distinct feel. From team entrances to stadium chants, the atmosphere is a lot closer to what you see on Sundays.
Superstar and Madden Ultimate Team return with new ways to play
Superstar mode brings back the journey of building your custom athlete, with some help from College Football 26. You can import your college player or start fresh with a new avatar, working your way up to a 99 overall rating. Weekly storylines, live events, and the new Sphere of Influence system shape how your career unfolds. You’ll also need to manage wear and tear across the season to stay in top form.
Madden Ultimate Team is also getting a shake-up. MUT Events bring in dynamic objectives and limited-time challenges. There’s a new 50-player leaderboard campaign, plus a revamped NFL Team Pass that gives you team-specific rewards across different online modes. It’s all designed to keep things feeling fresh as new programs roll out over the year.
