Metal Gear Solid Konami

Following the various showcases during Summer Game Fest week, I’m excited to see what Konami has in store for us. Their upcoming video games sure look promising. During the half-hour presentation, big names such as Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f revealed new information about what they’ll have to offer. We also got confirmation of the remake of the very first Silent Hill, adapted for a new generation of players. Finally, fans of family games and anime are not left out. Here is our summary of the Konami Press Start event.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

We’ve known for a while that this remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is in development. The game is scheduled for release at the end of the summer. During Konami’s presentation, the team introduced the various game modes that players will enjoy. For example, Snake will be able to hunt small monkeys in the custom levels of Snake vs Monkey. Meanwhile, Snake vs Bomberman sends our soldier into a game inspired by the arcade game where he must blow up his opponents, one bomb at a time.

But what may be of interest to those who enjoy team play is Fox Hunt mode. Set in the same environments as the campaign, this online multiplayer mode will put your camouflage skills to the test as you try to avoid being spotted by the opposing team.

In Metal Gear Δ: Snake Eater, players will be able to rediscover the story of the famous Big Boss and how his legend was forged during Operation Snake Eater. The new damage system leaves scars on the main character as the game progresses. A new control and camera system also offers more intuitive controls for players accustomed to modern third-person action games.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will be released on August 28 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Darwin’s Paradox!

Announced a few months ago, Konami has released gameplay footage from Darwin’s Paradox, developed by French studio ZDT Studio. This platform game features an octopus trying to find its way back to the ocean. The environments are diverse, and it is thanks to the octopus’s unique abilities that we will be able to traverse them. The puzzles will combine swimming, camouflage, and thinking challenges.

In the peaceful vastness of the ocean, Darwin, a young octopus, explores the depths of the sea… until a strange ray of light pierces the abyss and draws him to the surface. Torn from his aquatic world, he wakes up disoriented in the middle of a gigantic scrap yard, next to a sinister-looking factory.

Darwin’s Paradox! is being developed for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Edens Zero

Manga Edens Zero has been adapted into an anime in Japan and the West. Now, this popular series is coming to video games in just one month! Konami has confirmed that a demo of the game is now available for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. What’s more, the save file from the demo will be transferable to the full game. Several publishers have adopted this practice, often for role-playing games, and I love it. Not only does it allow us to see if we like the title enough to buy it, but if we do, we can continue our adventure instead of having to start all over again.

Fans will relive memorable moments from the original Edens Zero story. Shiki lives in the kingdom of Granbell, surrounded by machines, when he meets the first visitors to the planet in 100 years: streamer Rebecca and her blue cat Happy. This new group of friends then embarks on an epic journey to find “Mother,” who is the size of a planet. They will have to defeat powerful enemies, make new friends, and explore the universe aboard the Edens Zero, a ship that belonged to the machine Ziggy, who had taken on the role of Shiki’s father and was also known as the “Demon King.”

Edens Zero will be released on July 15 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Silent Hill f

Silent Hill Konami

The Silent Hill series is known for blending Japanese and Western horror. However, Silent Hill f returns to the roots of Japanese horror. The game follows Shimizu Hinako, a teenager tormented by the weight of society’s expectations. Set in the 1960s, she travels through her hometown of Ebisugaoka, which is undergoing a disturbing transformation. Stylized, the title developed by NeoBards will feature the unique and distorted creatures familiar to the franchise, all presented in an unsettling atmosphere. While ensuring modern gameplay mechanics, the fog is still there, adding an oppressive atmosphere to the locations visited that fans know all too well.

Silent Hill f will be released on September 25 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
