Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Xbox delivered one of its most loaded events in recent memory during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. From long-awaited sequels and brand-new titles to surprise launches you can play today, the event showed what’s next for Xbox fans across Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Cloud Gaming and beyond.

Game Pass continues to be a major focus, with both first-party and third-party titles confirmed as day-one releases. A few high-profile games even dropped during the show itself, including Final Fantasy XVI Complete Edition and a playable demo for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. On the hardware side, Xbox revealed the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds, expanding where and how you can access your games.

With a mix of exclusives, third-party surprises, and indie standouts, here’s everything revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.

New first-party game and franchise reveals

The showcase gave us our first proper look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, set in the year 2035. It follows the events of Black Ops 2 and 6, with a new co-op campaign, signature multiplayer, and round-based Zombies in the Dark Aether universe. The game launches on all major platforms and arrives on day one with Game Pass. A full reveal is planned for later this summer.

Upcoming Xbox Series X Games

High On Life 2 brought back the twisted humour and talking weapons of the original, with even more bizarre alien worlds to explore. The reveal teased expanded movement options, bigger boss fights, and more chaotic missions. It’s coming to Xbox and Game Pass in 2025. Team Ninja is back with Ninja Gaiden 4, the first new entry in over a decade. The trailer showed Ryu Hayabusa back in action with fast swordplay, tight parries, and brutal combos. It’s launching on Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass in 2026.

Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds 2 returned with a new trailer and a fresh look at its offbeat tone and upgraded visuals. It’s still coming exclusively to Xbox platforms with Game Pass. The new footage teased expanded exploration and more dramatic story choices. Grounded 2 is officially in development and coming to Game Preview on July 29. Obsidian is expanding the world and story, with more biomes, deeper crafting, and full campaign co-op. A teaser trailer showed giant new environments and returning characters.

Gears of War: Reloaded also made a strong showing with a new trailer and confirmed launch date of August 26, 2025. This remastered edition brings the iconic original back with upgraded 4K textures, 60 FPS campaign, and 120 FPS multiplayer. It supports cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. You can play it day one with Game Pass, or try it early during a two-weekend Multiplayer Beta starting June 13. Access is available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC members, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition owners, and anyone who preorders Reloaded.

New Xbox worlds and expanding universes

Clockwork Revolution also reappeared with an in-depth look at its time-shifting combat and branching choices. The steampunk aesthetic is intact, and the demo showed off combat upgrades and dialogue systems that react to your past actions. Cronos: The New Dawn made its debut as a narrative-focused action game set in a shattered timeline. The reveal trailer hinted at memory manipulation, shifting allegiances, and morally grey choices. It stood out for its minimalist UI and emotional tone. It launches later this year in the fall.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is also finally coming to Xbox this winter. Announced during the showcase, this marks another major addition for the platform as Xbox continues to expand support for the Final Fantasy series. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy brings together the stories of A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem into a new chapter that blends stealth, puzzle-solving, and emotional beats. It launches in 2026 and continues Amicia’s journey in a darker, more volatile world.

Day one Game Pass titles

A large part of the showcase focused on upcoming Xbox Series X games launching day one with Game Pass. Persona 4 Revival stood out with its updated look and Game Pass support across Xbox consoles and PC. Atlus is promising a faithful reimagining of the original RPG. Xbox confirmed that more details on the remake’s updated features and changes will be shared in the coming months.

Beast of Reincarnation from Game Freak also joins the list. Set in post-apocalyptic Japan, this action-adventure follows Emma the Sealer and her dog companion Koo as they battle to save humanity. It’s coming in 2026 and will be available day one with Game Pass. DON’T NOD’s Aphelion is another day-one release, bringing an emotional sci-fi journey developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency. You’ll explore the mysterious planet Persephone while navigating survival, stealth, and gravity-defying events.

Upcoming Xbox Series X Games

Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive also joins Game Pass on day one, expanding the hit franchise into an action-heavy RPG. The trailer showed fast-paced combat, signature finishing moves, and a new story arc created specifically for the game. Lastly, Keeper is a dark action-RPG about an outcast surviving in a cursed land. The trailer showed fluid combat, grim environments, and a mysterious shapeshifting power. It also launches day one with Game Pass.

New indies and smaller titles

The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 also gave space to a fresh batch of indie and smaller-scale upcoming Xbox Series X Games, each bringing something different to the table.

Aniimo blends action and collection mechanics with stylish flair, teasing fast-paced battles and evolution systems in its debut trailer. At Fate’s End offered a cinematic look at a moody action-adventure built around fluid melee combat and a mysterious masked lead. Mudang: Two Hearts stood out with its colourful art style and dual-protagonist setup, blending Korean folklore and fast-paced spellcasting with spiritual themes.

Invincible VS is a stylish 2.5D fighting game based on the popular comic and show. You’ll fight through familiar locations using bold comic-style visuals and over-the-top special moves. The debut trailer teased characters like Invincible, Atom Eve, and Omni-Man. Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf builds on the original’s emotional puzzle-platforming with a new companion and deeper lore.

Over-the-top platforming is returning in Super Meat Boy 3D. It’s set to launch in early 2026 and is now in full 3D with chaotic new traps and meat-fueled mayhem. Finally, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand leaned into psychological mystery with its eerie hotel setting and slow-burn narrative structure. The game follows a woman returning to an abandoned resort where reality seems to shift with each step. Dialogue appears central to the experience, with subtle choices shaping how the story unfolds. The visuals stood out for their surreal lighting and dreamlike imagery, while the slower pace gave it a more reflective, almost haunting feel compared to the rest of the showcase.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a new dark fantasy RPG from Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Entertainment. You play as Coen, a young man caught between his humanity and the powers of a Dawnwalker, half-man, half-vampire. The story centers on whether you’ll resist or embrace the curse to save your family. It’s coming in 2026 to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC.

ROG Xbox Ally expands where you can play

The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 didn’t just spotlight games, it also introduced two new handhelds: the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X. These portable devices are built for Xbox Play Anywhere, letting you jump between console, PC, and handheld with full support for Game Pass, cross-saves, and cross-entitlement. You’ll be able to access your entire library, including games from Xbox, Windows PC storefronts, Battle.net, and other third-party platforms. The Ally X includes a larger battery, expanded storage, and better ergonomics. Both models are scheduled to launch later this year and come pre-installed with Xbox software for quick access to Game Pass and your existing titles.

The standard ROG Xbox Ally offers a strong entry point, while the Ally X is designed for those who want extra performance. They both boot into a new Xbox full screen experience, making it easy to browse your collection and play right away. You can game natively, through the cloud, or by connecting to your Xbox console remotely. You can tweak performance, switch apps, and customize controls directly on the device using Game Bar and Armoury Crate. Roblox will be fully supported and optimized for handheld play when the device launches. First-time buyers can start with Game Pass at no extra cost, and Xbox is developing a new program to identify games built specifically with handhelds in mind.

The Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X are set to launch later this year. More details are coming soon, including pricing, accessories and pre-order information.
