Video games and music go hand in hand
During a game, music can tug at your heart or it can get you going in the direction that the game designer wants you to. On the other hand, music in a game can let the player know that they are losing health or just gained a power up. Finally, a game’s soundtrack can help brand it—and leave a lasting impression while creating many favourable memories.
As a direct result, video game concerts have become popular all over the world with gamers. Many concerts travel the globe to sold out crowds. Not only is it a great way to connect with other gamers in the community but it also is an incredible experience that you won’t soon forget. Let me tell you about my experience with a recent video game concert that I went to not too long ago and the impact it had on me.
Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World of Tres World Tour
To help celebrate the launch of Kingdom Hearts III earlier in the year, the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concert series went on tour all over the world with a brand-new program—Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World of Tres. Luckily one of the stops was here in Toronto and I had the esteemed pleasure of attending.
The orchestra and choir were composed of more than 100 musicians who put on a stunning performance. The live orchestra included woodwinds, brass, piano, percussion and other instruments. The concert started with spectacular renditions of iconic music from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. To add even more impact, behind the orchestra and choir was a large screen. It showed gameplay footage in perfect harmony with the music.
However, the highlight of the concert was when the orchestra played music from Kingdom Hearts III. They went chapter by chapter through out the game. You could hear many people in the audience humming along, and were cheering and clapping at the end of every piece. Not only did several of the songs send chills down my spine but they also brought back fond memories and times when I was playing the game. It’s like the moments were frozen in time and by listening to the music I could replay them as many times as I wanted.

I would say Hellblade….the music/sound design are a huge part of the game. It evokes so many different emotions…at times it is almost overwhelming (in a good way).
According to my son Earthbound because its his favourite game right now.
Absolutely any of the Final Fantasy games! The softer slow music I play at night to help me relax and sleep and other times I play the faster upbeat music when driving.
Thanks for the chance to win! I could really use a PDP LVL50 Wireless Gaming Headset with Microphone for Xbox One!
Super Mario for me, the memories that come flooding back and yet so current as I play the game. Also, so much fun is anticipated each time I hear the music for the game.

🙂 thinking outside the box !
I love Grand Theft Auto the soundtrack is amazing!
Destiny 2 has the best soundtrack. it’s atmospheric and you can get it on vinyl.
I think Cadence of Hyrule is one of the best video game soundtracks ever made! The game does a really good job taking classic legend of Zelda songs and giving them a modern twist.
The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword adds to the classics sounds making it more dynamic.
Metal Gear Solid 3 has the best soundtrack because it does such a good job creating and utilizing the 1960’s sounds and music since the game itself takes place in that era
BioShock, hands down. It set the tone for the time, and only served to make the creepy parts of the game seem more eerie.
Persona 5 has the best soundtrack. Acid Jazz, super catchy tunes. Emotional when it needs to be, and then powerful songs like Ark and Rivers in the Desert. Persona games are known for their music, but P5 goes plus ultra.
Metal Gear Solid 3. That theme song!
God of War (2018) soundtrack is the best. Why? Because it sets the atmosphere perfectly for every scene in the game. It makes you “feel” the game in a way. I love it!
I cannot answer this as I usually turn game music way down, first thing. I prefer to hear other things when gaming.
Red Dead Redemption 2 because of Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas!
God of War, Bear McCreary the music is so other wordly and yet old at the same time it just takes me away
