How to enter our Play at Best Buy contest

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways:

  1. From May 20th to June 30th, in a comment below this article, tell us what gaming gear that is available at Best Buy you would like to get, and how it would improve your gaming experience; you must include the link to that product from the Best Buy website in your comment. 
  2. From June 3rd to June 30th, Best Buy will hide a coin (like the one you see here) somewhere on the Play at Best Buy event page;  click on that coin to reveal a secret code located somewhere on the next page. Once you have the code, email it to bestbuyblog@bestbuycanada.ca with “Play at Best Buy Contest” in the subject. Do not post the code in a comment on the blog. Each Friday during June (for a total of four Fridays) the Best Buy team will place the coin in a new location on the Play at Best Buy event page and clicking on it will lead you to a new secret code that you can then email to the blog team for an additional contest entry. That means you can enter four times by emailing those four unique codes. Make sure to come back to this contest and send each week’s unique code to our email address for the best chance to win! 

What you can win

At the end of this contest we will randomly draw 8 winners from all eligible entries posted on the blog (in English and French) and sent via email; each will receive one of the prize packages listed here: Xbox Series S package, Nintendo Switch OLED package, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition package, Samsung Smart TV, Meta Quest 2, Razer package, HyperX package, and Corsair package.

    Finally, one thing I have yet to add to my collection of consoles is the Playstation 5 https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/playstation-5-digital-edition-console/15689335 One of the only consoles I haven’t had the money to consider buying. However, some of the exclusives are starting to change my mind!

    One thing I wish we could buy from Bestbuy is the Shure recording microphones. I think honestly it would be a huge addition to the company to add Shure microphones into retail stores and online. Don’t get me wrong, Yeti’s are great entry-level microphones, but we really need to see BestBuy tap into the market of streaming. The foot is already halfway into the door.

  19. I’m entering here for the switch OLED model. I have a wii that we bought about nine years ago, and although it has its charm my eyes can’t help but wander to the bright red packaging of the switch as we buy printer toner at BestBuy. Its a little awkward playing a mario kart game from a decade ago with my friends when they can just go home to play the new one. Anyway, thanks for your time and hosting this contest!

  38. 100% a PS5. It’s the one console that I’m missing from generation and would love to have sitting next to my Series X. Also, an OLED Switch would be awesome!

  40. A PS5 with a couple of controllers and a few games would be great as I am still using a PS3!
