Great toys hold a special place in our hearts. They create great experiences at the time we play with them. They also leave a treasured memory that we can look back on and smile as we get older. The coolest toys do something a little extra. Really cool toys unite a generation, and sometimes multiple generations. Many of the hottest toys these days are tech toys: robots, drones etc. Which tech toy of 2016 do you think will make the biggest impression in a child’s life, or in your life? Every year new toys are released that have the potential to become a child’s special treasure. Best Buy carries many of these. Best Buy also has the greatest selection of tech toys. Last year I fell in love with the Sphero BB-8 App-enabled Droid. It’s the kind of toy that will resonate in a person’s memories for decades.

You may find it difficult to decide what the coolest toy is this year. It’s not always easy to predict what will be the best toy in a given year, but really there are no wrong answers. For example, I asked my wife which tech toy she remembers as having been really cool when she was young and her answer, the Fisher Price parking garage (shown below), really surprised me! Note that Best Buy carries a Melissa & Doug version of this parking garage. I too had one of those vintage Fisher Price garages when I was young and played with it incessantly. I hadn’t thought about that toy in many years, but just the mention of it brought back a ton of great memories.
Kids nowadays may not view a parking garage as a tech toy given the options that exist. The prizes in this contest contain many of the best tech toys available in 2016. We have divided the more than $12000 in prizes into 6 toys bundles:

I think the coolest tech toy Available at Best Buy 2016 is the Ultimate Drone- Yunneec Typhoon 4K. I think it’s amazing and the ultimate toy for anyone even has a camera.

The Wowee Coder Mip is the neatest toy this year. My two boys would love this!
I think the V-Tech Learn and Discover Cube and the Melissa and Doug Turtle ball pits are awesome and my son would love these!
Coolest tech toy by far are the drones. They are the ultimate remote control toy. My first tech toy was light bright I think. You would take these little colorful plastic pieces and stick them in holes on a board to make whatever design you wanted. I wish I had some of the old school toys now.

When I was a kid there really weren’t tech toys. But I loved my Easy baKe oven!
I would have to say the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K Quadcopter Drone is the coolest tech toy for 2016. I would love to have one and take some awesome videos and shots of my kids and us on family adventures. The capability of capturing those special moments and great shots are pushing boundaries and next level.

Coolest tech toy from when I was a kid was three-wheeled four remote control stunt car toy.
My sons are 10 & 11 and they are after me for a go pro and a drone, so they think that these are the coolest toys of 2016 although I’m sure they would love any of the awesome toys in the package. The coolest tech thing out family relieved as a gift when I was young was a Nintendo for the family. Of course my brothers played it much more than my sister and I.
Th coolest tech toy I received as a kid would have to be my first rc car I liked them concept of moving there car without having to physically push it.

I think the coolest toy is the BB8! Come on with all the features why wouldn’t anyone not want to have a robot following them around?! Plus it would be a great entertainer for my pup and I during the holidays as we recently lost our partner.
The coolest gadget I got as a child was the original Nintendo, I think I still even have it. I absolutely loooved Duck Hunt, where when you would get frustrated, put the gun control to the TV, shoot and in hopes not to miss!! We all remember those days. Fondest memory.

One of the coolest gifts I received as a child was a gaming system. ColecoVision was one of the newest gaming systems with DonkyKong and Jumpman. It really couldn’t compete with Atari sales though..
ColecoVision was only around for a few years.

I gave my kids that electronic game were you repeat the color pattern that the game gives you. The pace speeds up as you advance. I forget the name of it but I loved playing with it as much as the kids.

I think the Osmo is an amazing gift for my sons. They love their IPads and always like to try new things with them. The Nano Pets was the coolest technology gift I ever got. Loved it!

As a kid, I loved our Fisher Price cash Register. You could put coins in and press the handle and you got change. It was the coolest thing. We played store for hours!

My coolest and favourite tech toy when I was a kid was Simon. I was surprised to see that it is still around and how much it has changed over the years.
The coolest tech toy is sphero. My son loves robotics and would absolutely love a tech toy that he code and program. He has worked on the EV3 Lego robot and has competed in the Lego robotics competition with his elementary school. He would love to learn more about programming and coding and what better way than with his own programmable robot.
