Garmin Fenix Pro

What better way is there to show someone you care than to give them a health and fitness tech gift? Nowadays, just about everyone is looking to achieve a specific health goal. It might be to lose weight, tone muscles, de-stress, get more sleep, eat better, or even practice better personal hygiene. Maybe they’re looking to do a bit of all the above. There are some great gift ideas to consider in this space, including ones you might not even have thought about.

A smartwatch is the perfect gift

A smartwatch or fitness tracker is the perfect health and fitness tech. So many of the latest ones focus on many aspects of health. This includes not just activity and sports but everything from heart rate to stress, blood oxygen to sleep, and more. Garmin is one of the top brands in this space, and we recently reviewed a few models that would make good choices as a step-up for someone special. The Garmin Fenix 7 Pro, for example, focuses mainly on fitness and exercise, and it’s especially great for runners. In his review, Ted Kritsonis says it’s a great option for someone who wants to dig deeper into fitness or be encouraged to exercise more. With solar charging as well, it’ll last for weeks.

Garmin Venu 2 Plus

For something that looks less rugged and more like a stylish timepiece on your wrist, and that’s more affordable, you can go with the Garmin Venu 2 Plus. Kritsonis says in his review that he loves the ability to make calls from a connected phone, right from the watch thanks to the built-in speaker and on-board mic.

Personally, I sport an Apple Watch and love how it helps me along my fitness journey. For top-notch sleep tracking as a priority, I’d recommend a Fitbit device like the Fitbit Charge 6.

A unique smart scale

Zibrio scale with smartphone

I have a smart scale at home and I try to weigh in at least once a week. A scale like the Zibrio balance scale provides something entirely different to complement weight and even other stats like body mass index (BMI), muscle, and fat percentage: it gives you a balance score, which can help you determine how likely you are to experience a fall. For someone elderly or with mobility or vision issues, this could be a game-changer.

In her review, Rachel Sturn loved how she could see how factors like her sleep and stress levels impacted her balance. It’s a neat addition to the bathroom that provides details no traditional smart scale does. Combined with the app, you can also follow along with various balance exercise programs to help improve and minimize your risk of falls.

For a more traditional smart scale, I would recommend the Withings Body+ Wi-Fi smart scale, which provides details about weight along with BMI, water percentage, and more. It not only syncs with a companion app but can also integrate data with devices like an Apple Watch and other smart wearable devices.

Practice good oral hygiene

Oral B iO Series 10 electric smart toothbrush

Years ago, giving someone a toothbrush as a present might have seemed odd. They might wonder if you’re trying to tell them something. Are their teeth yellow or does their breath smell? That isn’t the implication anymore with so many really cool, high-tech toothbrushes like the Oral-B iO Series 10.

For someone who takes great care of their oral hygiene, they will love this rechargeable electric toothbrush that has seven settings for everything from regular, everyday cleaning to dealing with sensitive teeth or working on whitening. There’s even live coaching to guide you along and make sure you don’t miss any spots, aren’t pressing too hard, and brush for the appropriate amount of time for maximum sparkle. In his review of this toothbrush, Stephane Vaillancourt loves the magnetic stand that holds the toothbrush when not in use and how the battery lasts for more than a week per charge. He also appreciates how easy it is to set up and how much detail you get with the brushing reports in the app.
