Why buy a pre-built gaming PC?

The greatest benefit of pre-built computer is having a gaming PC that’s plug-and-play as soon as it’s out of the box. For people looking to build their own gaming PC, the thought of buying and assembling all of the hardware components on their own can be daunting. This is where Quoted Tech’s pre-built Frontier comes in handy. Quoted Tech handles all the heavy lifting of finding and installing the hardware, leaving you with a plug-and-play solution. You don’t have to worry about compatibility or delicate installation, this is all handled for you.

The Frontier is a beautiful custom gaming PC

Turning on the Frontier, the first thing that struck me was just how amazing it looked. The tower is entirely black with a single glass panel that shows you all of the hardware. I absolutely loved the RGB lights coming from every single case fan. It gives the PC a sleek, head turning aesthetic. I also appreciated Quoted Tech’s cable management, they made sure to hide any cables giving the PC a clean aesthetic.

Tech Frontier watercooler

A fast and modern CPU—Intel i9-13900KF

The Frontier’s Central Processing Unit (CPU) is an Intel i9-13900KF. This CPU is a 13th generation Core i9 Raptor Lake with 24 cores and a base frequency of 3.0GHz. Within the 24 cores there are 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores. The 16 E-Cores are used for handling background tasks like the streaming software, microphone, camera, and screen recording software. This frees up the more powerful 8 P-Cores to focus on high performance and intensive tasks such as gaming. The end result is the i9 design creates an overall smooth gaming experience.

Keeping the CPU cool with the EK Nucleus CR240

Quoted Tech opted to use the EK Nucleus AIO CR240 Lux D-RGB watercooler to keep the powerful i9 CPU cool. Watercoolers are fantastic for keeping high performance components cool, this is especially useful for gamers who like to overclock CPU’s like the Frontier’s i9-13900KF. During my testing the Frontier’s i9 processor remained an average of 60 degrees Celsius while playing games and recording gameplay.

Powerful GPU—the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

The GPU of the Frontier is a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti made by PNY. This GPU has 12GB of random access memory (RAM) and has a triple fan design. When it comes to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series, the 4070 Ti is a mid-tier model offering the best balance of performance, power consumption, and price. Some key benefits of the 4070 Ti are the NVIDIA DLSS 3, which uses AI to boost gaming performance, NVIDIA Encoder to enhance live streaming, and greater cooling with a larger heat sink and triple fans. The RTX 4070 Ti is a fantastic choice by Quoted Tech for the Frontier—it’s capable of playing any AAA game at high settings while also delivering a smooth high frame rate gameplay.

Connectivity options

Motherboard with plentiful connectivity—Gigabyte Z790 UD AX

The motherboard of the Frontier gaming PC is a Gigabyte Z790 UD AX. This is a good basic motherboard that provides a wide range of connectivity options. For storage, it has six SATA III and three M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs. For memory, there are four DDR5 slots that can support up to 128GB of RAM at a maximum speed of 7600MHz.

In terms of connectivity there are one USB 3.2 Gen 2, six USB 3.2 Gen 1, two USB-C, HDMI, Display Port, four PCIe expansion slots, and one keyboard/mouse combo port. Now if you have any Bluetooth accessories, this motherboard also comes with support for Bluetooth 5.3. For network connections, this motherboard has a 2.5GB Ethernet port for hardwire connections and for wireless connectivity, the Z790 supports Wi-Fi 6E and comes with a large magnetic antenna.

Overall, I found the Frontier’s motherboard to provide a good number of connectivity options. This is great for gamers that have multiple gaming accessories. I also liked the support for Wi-Fi 6E, this is an incredibly fast wireless standard making the need for hardwire network connections unnecessary.

PC Case

PC case that looks amazing and keeps hardware cool—Fractal PopAir

The Frontier PC uses a gorgeous case made by Fractal. This case is called the PopAir and is an ATX mid-sized tower. This is the perfect size for PC cases striking a balance between hardware space and desktop real estate. This is important for anyone who’s looking to upgrade or expand hardware components. As you can see in my video, the PopAir easily accommodates a large three-fan GPU with more space to spare. To keep the case looking simple and clean, the PopAir also has a bottom compartment. This compartment houses the Power Supply Unit (PSU) as well as two storage trays for 2.5” or 3.5” hard drives.

Glass side panel

For people who love to show off their PC hardware the PopAir comes with a glass panel that let’s you see all of the Frontier’s powerful components and RGB lighting. When it comes to cable management and a minimalistic design, Fractal has this down pat. There are multiple slots for easy cable management and multiple storage areas where you can hide your cables.

Superior airflow

The Fractal PopAir lives up to its name. This case was built with airflow in mind as the front and rear of the case are designed to maximize airflow. The case is designed so that cool air will enter from the front of the case, while hot air exits from the rear and top of the case. This is extremely effective for keeping all PC components cool, especially during processor intensive tasks.

Keeping this case clean is also incredibly easy. The top of the case has a magnetic mesh and bottom of the case has a pull out tray to make cleaning the air filters simple and easy.

Gaming performance for Quoted Tech’s Frontier

Gaming on the Frontier PC is nothing short of amazing thanks to all of the powerful hardware. In my testing I used a 34” gaming monitor with a resolution of 3440 x 1440p. The powerful hardware of the Frontier was able to handle any AAA game that I threw at it. At maximum graphics settings these games looked absolutely amazing. At these settings I’m clearly able to see details like strands of hair, wrinkles in clothing, and blades of grass.

To really see how powerful the Frontier is I attempted to push the hardware to its limits. For this test I played Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 and Tomb Raider at maximum graphics settings. At the same time I used NVIDIA’s GeForce experience software to record my gameplay at 1440p. During these tests the Frontier didn’t slow down or show any signs of strain. In fact, I was able to achieve an impressive 100 frames per second (FPS) in my games.

As for hardware temperature, the Fractal AirPop is the perfect selection for a gaming PC. During my testing I didn’t notice any throttling due to excessive heat build-up. During gameplay GPU and CPU temperatures averaged about 70 and 60 degrees Celsius.

Final thoughts on the Frontier custom gaming PC

I absolutely loved my time testing the Quoted Tech Frontier gaming PC. Games look incredible and run smoothly at maximum settings on my 1440p monitor. I like Quoted Tech’s choice of hardware, their attention to cable management, and the care that they took in assembling this PC. The hardware of the Frontier is extremely powerful and will be able to play any modern day games. If you’re in the market for a gaming PC I strongly suggest checking out the Frontier at Best Buy.
