You may think that one computer monitor is much like any other but you would be wrong. Monitors come in different sizes, different styles with different abilities and uses. Enter this contest and you may discover just how great a monitor can be: the prize is a BenQ Zowie Gaming Monitor that is very light, and is designed to handle the faced paced demands of today’s video games. It’s perfect for the student heading back to school, or any home where the computer does more than just spreadsheets.
What makes a monitor great
We are long past the days where the computer monitor occupied a major portion of your computer desk, and was a pain to move because of its weight and awkwardness. Monitors in 2017 keep getting thinner, lighter and brighter so you can work and play without getting eye strain, move them without getting a hernia, and place them on almost any table or desk and they don’t get in the way.
The prize for this contest is a great example of what I’m talking about. The BenQ monitor has the features that anyone would covet in a monitor. The bonus comes if you are into video games, and especially eSports, since this monitor is designed to refresh very quickly so that your focus remains on the game, not on the flickering screen.
BenQ Zowie Console Gaming Monitor Features
We recently sent this monitor to independent blogger Chris Loblaw for an unbiased review. Read the full review yourself, but here are some features that he called out as especially useful:
- easy setup: great for everyone who upgrades their monitor
- light and portable: great for taking to eSports turnaments
- fast refresh rate of 1ms is faster than most televisions
- black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with dulling the whole scene
- low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
- flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain
- non-reflective frame: another feature meant to enhance the gaming experience
Right now you may be thinking, “how can I get one of these?” There are two ways: you can just go online and purchase one from Best Buy (that’s the easiest way); you can also enter this contest. Even you don’t need a new monitor yourself, you probably know a student who’ll be going back to school in the fall who would love to get a BenQ gaming monitor.

I love the feature fast refresh rate of 1ms which is way faster than most televisions
I love the low blue light feature so I don’t have to worry too much about eye strain as I spend a lot of time on the computer!
I like the low blue light that drastically reduces eye-strain so I can play longer.
I spend a lot of time on my computer. I love the low blue light. It should drastically reduces eye-strain.
Flicker free – because flickering flicks me off.
flicker free: flicker too can cause eye-strain. Very important for me as I spend a lot of time at the computer
Low blue light setting is an amazing feature to have, especially for a game like myself who plays games after work hours without any lights turned on. It drastically reduced eye strain and allows for a good night’s sleep after a serious gaming session.
I love the flicker free and the low blue light. Will save a lot of eye strain!
I would have to say the best in class feature is the refresh rate. It’s great to not worry about the screen slowing down and staining your eyes just because the monitor can’t keep up.
The fast refresh rate of 1ms
Non-reflective frame because I am a gamer and this would help give a better gaming experience.
I really like the low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain function! So important not to strain your eyes!
1 ms refresh rate
Great feature: low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
My favorite feature is the fact that it’s light and portable, so I can move it easily to any place I want and share the joy !
black eQualizer setting : Adjusting the blacks without impacting the clarity of details and other scene colors. I believe this outline this monitor from the rest of the market!
My favourite feature is the no flicker
I like the non-reflective frame because it create less distractions
black eQualizer setting: allows you to enhance the blacks with dulling the whole scene
Flicker free is the best feature in my opinion. As a programmer and gamer, it puts less strain on my eyes during long duration of use.
My favorite feature is the low blue light which reduces that strain on my eyes.
low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain. As a VFX supervisor i spend every day staring at Monitors, TV’s and Projected images. having a image that is low strain is very important.
I spend a large amount of time on my PC, so the best feature in my opinion would be the low blue light feature, as staring at my monitor for a large period of time doesnt do anyting good for my eyes.
The adjustable height to line up with another monitor
My fave feature of the BenQ gaming monitor is the low blue light – I’m into my gaming but not at the expense of my eyes!
Hi Mike, I would have to say all features are very appealing to me as I am right now using an older lcd 22″ television as my monitor. It doesn’t have the great refresh rate, turning the black up on it darkens everything and I don’t think I am the gamer I could be if I had a proper monitor. This would be a major upgrade and I could possibly hold my head high and truly call myself a gamer in the near future!.
1 ms GTG, that’s 5 times faster than my current monitor!
My favourite feature is low blue light: drastically reduces eye-strain
I would have to say the stand out feature is the refresh rate. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been playing a game like gears of war only to have my screen slow down and find myself on the ground bloodied and calling for help. This would remdy that and I could get back into the game and actually chainsaw gun my way to a win.
Easy set up!! Without that I am dependent on getting help.
Low blue light for less strain on the eyes.
My favourite feature is low blue light which reduces eyestrain which is important as when playing games it can be hours at a time.
I like the BenQ gaming monitor’s low blue light feature. My 3 boys are gaming fanatics, and I worry about them staring at the screen for so long.
Easy set up is the most important feature to me. Anything to save time and frustration!!!
Fast refresh rate since I like to play FPS games.
The low blue light is kick ass as I am blinking too much while playing games at night. It probably would help if I had a light on but nah.
East set up and the 1ms is crazy!
I like the easy setup as I’m not that tech handy.
I like the feature of the low blue light to drastically reduces eye-strain
I do like how light and portable the monitor is. Is very good for gaming
I really like how easy the setup and hook up is!
How light and portable it is!
Easy set up!! Without that I am dependent on getting help (and hate to have to ask!)
The refresh rate is amazing – great for fast action!
Favorite feature – Flicker Free – would greatly reduce eyestrain for my 15 year old gamer son!!!!
My favourite feature is low blue light which reduces eyestrain which is important as when playing games it can be hours at a time.
