One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  2. I love my Kobo Aura. This is my second Kobo and each one is better than the last one. I carry it with me in y purse as it is small enough to carry with me everywhere. I love reading and do so if I waiting for an appointment ,or when I am relaxing in the yard. Wow it is very amazing to me that I have a Lot of books in such a small space. The fonts are great,the lighting is great and the most important is the battery last a really lone time. It charges very fast also . I love my KOBO.

  3. I love that I can have all my books stored on my kobo…I used to have 2000 books that I read, and I just had to stop buying bookcases. I was so happy when the kobo e-reader came out…
    It’s so much easier to carry a ereader on a trip, and very convenient in so many ways..

  20. 4yrs ago I got bell’s palsy and unfortunately it didn’t go away…..it cleared up but it affected my eye…..at one time I would read 1 to 2 books a week…..now I could only read a few pages and with the small print in the books instant headaches…my kids got me a KOBO !!!! …..the best thing ever !!!! I could bump up the letters and read again ……unfortunately it has no backlight …would really love a new one with the backlight as it would make it even more easier for me to read …………….thanks for the chance to win a new one…..

  22. I’ve had my Kobo Too for several years now and love it. I can go weeks without charging it which is great for trips. It also holds so many books.

  24. I love to read and I love the fact that with the kobo you can literally take a wide selection of books with you. Where as if you stick to booms you have to carry some that can be very heavy. 🙂

  30. I would love to win a kobo because I love the fact that you can have so many reading options in just one place. For someone who travels and uses transit systems so much convenience is a very useful tool and with a kobo I’d have so many options

  38. I love that Kobo Readers are technology on the go, from home to Starbucks, the library, the park and beyond. It’s always there for me to use and enrich my life. I have a mental illness called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which onset a little over 10 years ago. With this illness and injury, I lost part of my capacity to read and remember literature that require the brain to keep track of a story in-order to progress through a book. In the beginning of my illness, I would read one or two words and they would just disappear like smoke in the air. I have been getting better over time and currently I can keep track of a storyline, focusing for approximately 10 pages at a time. I currently own the Kobo Arc. I would love to upgrade to the Kobo Clara HD because it has no distractions that come with having a reader that has maximum internet compacity or the excessive color that come with other Kobo Reader models. This reader is simple; black and white words on a page that demands attention. Whether I win this contest or not, I am going to upgrade my Kobo Reader sometime soon.     am not tech savvy. I felt like a young child again sneak reading under the covers till early morning, totally undetected!
