Thinkware dash cam contest at Best buyThinkware dash cams make driving safer for everyone. For most of us, driving is the riskiest thing we do every day. There are few things we can do to protect our loved ones who must take to the roads, for short or long drives, commuting, or even just shopping. Properly maintained vehicles is a basic necessity. Thinkware dash cams provide “next level” protection. Enter this contest and you might win either a Thinkware Q1000 or Thinkware X800 dash cam.

Should all cars come standard with a Thinkware dash cam

Seatbelts were legislated in Canada all the way back in the 1970s. Wearing a seatbelt is so commonplace, many of us can’t imagine driving without using one. Similarly, back up cameras are found in most vehicles now and not having one seems, well, just wrong. Both seatbelts and backup cameras met with resistance upon their introduction. Many people just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt. Similarly, some people felt that a back up camera was simply a crutch, ensuring that drivers didn’t learn proper technique when backing up. Yet here we are, in a better place with both technologies in use for the betterment of drivers everywhere. Driving is safer with seatbelt and backup camera tech.

I contend that dash cams are another tech that drivers and cars are safer with rather than without. And Thinkware dash cams come with a host of features to protect drivers and car owners. Once you have one, you don’t want to be without one again.

Thinkware dash cams do much more than just record the road ahead

In the movie “Next,” Nic Cage is able to protect people in danger with his gift to see a couple minutes into the future. A Thinkware dash cam is kind of doing that by capturing where your car will be in the near future. When things go wrong on the road, having that footage can make a huge difference in your life. It shows how other people reacted to a novel situation. Our memories are fallible; in moments of excitement our brains can mix up timelines, and even “remember” incorrectly. Dash cam evidence presented to the police or even to a judge (if a dispute gets that far) is indisputable.

There is a lot of information coming from a Thinkware dash cam and you can track it all in the app. This includes remote viewing of the cameras, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked, and more. Imagine if your spouse is commuting to work … you can follow their progress and know if they get stopped for some reason. I was recently at a concert and my truck was broken into … I wish I had a dash cam to alert me!

  1. I don’t have a dash cam. i think the recording feature would be a safety feature and might possibly help police in accidents that you weren’t involved in

  2. I drive 550 KM a week for my commute, I’ve had to have a windshield replaced after a bin truck tossed metal debris onto the road which hit my car. The guy driving the truck lied to the insurance company and said he was hauling dirt and I had to pay a full deductible to get my glass replaced. Having a dash cam would be fantastic to avoid this happening again.

  3. I don’t currently have a dash cam in my vehicle. I think the recording feature makes them an important tool for drivers and car owners because if you have an accident you can see who is at fault.

  4. I don’t but believe it keeps people honest in accidents, incidents and thefts and you may catch something that can help someone as well.

  5. I do not have a dash cam. Their ability to record in hi-def under all weather conditions is what makes them an important tool in protecting yourself in case of a dispute

  6. I don’t have one, I think they are a great tool for your safety and others on the road. I think everyone needs to take a defensive driving course yearly so that people don’t pick up bad habits and then train others.

  7. I could use this! There are too many not-so-safe drivers on the road plus with winter weather conditions, this will give me peace of mind when driving. Safety comes first!

  8. I do not currently have one but think its a cool idea. For me considering one an important feature would be the video recording to provide evidence if I were to be in an accident and need supporting evidence!

  9. I currently have an older dashcam but need to upgrade to one like this. The information that a dashcam records is invaluable especially if you’re in an accident as most bad drivers lie, whether intentionally or because they are such bad drivers that they think they are good!

  10. I don’t have a dashcam right now. I have been looking though and the most important features to me are a small, discreet form factor and high quality video.

  11. I don’t have a dash cam in my vehicle, that is why I am entering to win one. I think an important aspect of a dashcam would be the ability to turn it on or off on the dash interface or button on the wheel, or voice activation.

  12. Bonjour/Hi !, happy holidays. Nope dont have a dash cam in my car. I would really like those features in my car, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked. Cant really ask for morte. Well i think some have a back up camera !!!.

  13. Installing a Q1000 dash cam in my car and getting features like collision detection, 360 degree departure, collision warnings, Night Vision 3.0 and other Advanced Driver Assistance features would assist me in safer driving.

  14. I believe impact detection while parked would be important tool for car owners like me especially when I park my car outside, it would be useful to get notification when it happens.

  15. I don’t have a dash cam installed yet, but I think they are great to back you up if you get into incidents on the road (collisions and insurance scams)

  16. I don’t have a dashcam but as I work for myself as a contractor, it would be a great safety feature to add to my truck

  17. I don’t have a cam yet but wow, the remote view feature would come in very handy when I’m shopping in a sketchy part of the city (ha… being a small town guy, it’s all sketchy).

  18. I don’t have a dash cam in my vehicle yet and I think crash detection makes them an important tool for drivers and car owners.

  19. No dashcam as of now, but an important feature to have is the ability to reliably retrieve all data whenever necessary.

  20. I don’t have a dash cam. Recording feature in case of an accident is an important tool for drivers and car owners.

  21. I don’t have a daschcam for my car but it would be great to have one for peace of mind in case of an accident.

  22. I don’t have a dash cam . . . and, even if I win, I personally still won’t have a dash cam. I’d give it to my son! With all the time he spends on the highway due to his work and coming to see me (8 hours away), it would be nice for him to have one.
