A smaller body doesn’t have to come with too many compromises. That’s the Sony RX100 VI, a camera engineered to produce professional-level quality through the best components and optics. The new lens system achieves maximum resolution and clarity across the zoom range. Shooting in telephoto brings out remarkable detail, while day or night shots don’t have to be difficult to perfect.
The broader zoom range is matched by faster auto-focusing. A larger image sensor takes in more light for improved low-light photography. An advanced image processing engine works to bring out the detail and keep away the noise. Capture fast-moving subjects and beautiful portraits with a helping hand from the tracking features in the RX100 VI. Take your handheld photo and video skills to the next level.
READY TO SHOOT
Featuring a new high magnification 24-200mm F2.8 – F4.5 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens, the RX100 VI is like having two lenses in one small body. You get the equivalent of both a 24-70mm and 70-200mm lens all at once.
The unique advanced aspherical glass and lens elements work together with precision to deliver impressive sharpness and image quality at all focal lengths. A wider aperture throughout the zoom range provides a nice blurred background, while the Optical SteadyShot image stabilization reduces any blur on the subject.
Inside is a 1-inch (1.0-type) 20.1MP Exmor RS stacked CMOS image sensor with DRAM chip and an upgraded BIONZ X image processing system with a front-end LSI. Those are hefty specs for a camera small enough to fit in your pocket.
Autofocus is as quick as it gets with the RX100 VI. Equipped with the world’s fastest hybrid autofocus system, you get to lock onto a subject in as little as 0.03 seconds. The system combines the best of a focal-plane phase detection autofocus and contrast detection autofocus to keep you focused in the instant you need to get the right shot.
You get broad coverage to work with. Up to 315 phase detection autofocus points are available, covering 65% of the image area of the sensor. That gives you all the speed you need to stay with your intended subject, even if they’re moving fast.
The High-Density Tracking AF technology concentrates autofocus points to stay locked in. Even for portraits, the Eye AF system actively looks for a subject’s eyes to produce better images. The 3-inch display doubles as a Touch Focus touch pad to help you pinpoint where you want your focal point to be.
TRACKING IT ALL
With higher speed, you get better continuous shooting. The AF tracking on the RX100 VI allows you to shoot at 24fps with at the full 20.1-megapixel resolution. Plus, you can do it in 4K or in super slow-motion HFR (High Frame Rate) up to 960fps.
Capture footage using Clip 4K for short clips of up to 5 minutes at 3840 x 2160 resolution. Fire away knowing that you have the power of the 1-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor, higher shutter speeds (up to 1/32000) and wide sensitivity (ISO 80-12,800).
The RX100 VI supports the XAVC S format for high bitrate shooting up to 100Mbps for that professional quality. The camera’s autofocus technology works to maintain tracking, even with the intense focusing requirements necessary for 4K video shooting. Make focusing adjustments on the fly and feel confident that the best shot is right at your fingertips.
