Emerging Technology
A technology nut at heart, I'm always interested in what makes our lives easier and helps us tick day to day. Whether Home Automation, toys, games (board and video) or everything in between, I'm always looking around the corner to see what drives us in today's day and age.

A few toy lines out there have kept the same basics for the last half century. LEGO’s one of them, and LEGO has been encouraging people of all ages (especially kids) to build whatever they could imagine creating. With new lines like Elves and Friends, the characters may look different, but the stories and the fun are still all yours.

Review: Mario Party 10 brings new twists and turns to an old favourite

0
If you’ve followed Mario Party since the first one some-16 years ago, you know just how much has changed. You’re no longer competing head to head on the game boards. You’re not collecting coins, and you’re not racing each other to buy stars anymore. Still, Mario Party 10 shows us that growth isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and changing our traditions, while subtle, can still make a fun game.  Let’s take a look.

Review: Code Name S.T.E.A.M. is unique, but is it good?

Take the Golden Era of comic books, mix it with XCOM and a little taste of Fire Emblem. Then give it a steampunk influence, a cast of fictional and non-fiction historical characters and top it off with a good sense of humour. This is Code Name S.T.E.A.M. for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s a wacky turn based strategy game from the folks that brought Warioware and Fire Emblem. It’s a departure from the usual titles from Nintendo, which begs the question: Is it good?  Let’s take a look.

1
If you’re a Sony speaker enthusiast, you may look to the left and think that design looks familiar.  That’s the Sony SRS-X55, which looks exactly similar to last year’s SRS-X5. However, just like a new car, looks can be deceiving.  The extra year has given Sony the chance to re-evaluate last year’s successful design and make it even better.  The results include better sound quality and a longer battery life.  Keep reading on to find out more!

The Belkin WeMo Crock Pot is your traditional slow cooker with a 21st century twist.  You can keep track of your meal while it cooks using the handy app, and even set and reset timers. Come take a look!

Getting my Party on with Mario and Friends in Vancouver

The latest Mario Party for the Nintendo Wii U has just hit shelves, and to celebrate, Nintendo has had a few nationwide demo events for Mario Party 10!  I had the chance to attend one of the West Coast events, and check out my initial thoughts of the game, along with a look at the new amiibo!

PC Gaming that delivers more power and performance than you can imagine

PC Gaming is arguably the most popular it’s been in almost 2 decades. Boasting features you can’t get on consoles (including more powerful components) has there been a better time to make your next gaming choice a PC?

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is a next gen re-release of the 2011 PSP title. A fairly violent title that takes place in the Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries, Type-0 HD tweaks a couple of things from the original and sets course on a long story mode and fun side missions. Come take a look!

Review: Flying through the sky with the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus

0
With winter almost officially over, it’s time to think about those spring and summertime activities, and might I recommend flying a drone?  They’re portable, compact and can turn a few heads.  In fact, I drew a crowd one afternoon while I doing nothing but minding my own business and flying the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus for this review.  Let’s take a look at it.
