Video games and music go hand in hand
During a game, music can tug at your heart or it can get you going in the direction that the game designer wants you to. On the other hand, music in a game can let the player know that they are losing health or just gained a power up. Finally, a game’s soundtrack can help brand it—and leave a lasting impression while creating many favourable memories.
As a direct result, video game concerts have become popular all over the world with gamers. Many concerts travel the globe to sold out crowds. Not only is it a great way to connect with other gamers in the community but it also is an incredible experience that you won’t soon forget. Let me tell you about my experience with a recent video game concert that I went to not too long ago and the impact it had on me.
Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World of Tres World Tour
To help celebrate the launch of Kingdom Hearts III earlier in the year, the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concert series went on tour all over the world with a brand-new program—Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World of Tres. Luckily one of the stops was here in Toronto and I had the esteemed pleasure of attending.
The orchestra and choir were composed of more than 100 musicians who put on a stunning performance. The live orchestra included woodwinds, brass, piano, percussion and other instruments. The concert started with spectacular renditions of iconic music from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. To add even more impact, behind the orchestra and choir was a large screen. It showed gameplay footage in perfect harmony with the music.
However, the highlight of the concert was when the orchestra played music from Kingdom Hearts III. They went chapter by chapter through out the game. You could hear many people in the audience humming along, and were cheering and clapping at the end of every piece. Not only did several of the songs send chills down my spine but they also brought back fond memories and times when I was playing the game. It’s like the moments were frozen in time and by listening to the music I could replay them as many times as I wanted.

Red Dead Redemption 2
It’s not just game..it’s an experience of sound and style. (wind blowing and rain )
This is a difficult question to answer as there are so many great soundtracks these days. I think No Man’s Sky is probably the best since it is chill and immersive and prrcedurally generated. The only downside is that it doesn’t play enough during the game. I’m sure I’ll burn out my PSVR when Beyond comes out on the 14th!
Super Mario – upbeat and catchy!
NHL 2K9
Bad Religion, NOFX, The Offspring and Lupe Fiasco…
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Final fantasy 3
Battletoads has the best soundtrack. 8-bit at it’s finest!
Final fantasy 3 (or to be more accurate… 6) by far.
The fact they were able to push the SNES that far and stir up emotion and intensity with such limited hardware is STILL impressive.
Donkey Kong Country (SNES) has the best soundtrack – for its time it still stands up quality wise.
NBA 2K19, the soundtrack is crispy and got a beat into it while playing and like handpicked for the game.
Q1: What video game has the best soundtrack?
A1: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Q2: Why you think the soundtrack is the best?
A2: The soundtrack was created in a dark synth-wave style that fits the dark 80s theme of the game perfectly. Entire soundtrack was created by the Synth-wave Duo called POWERGLOVE. How awesome is that group name! Also during the mission “Summon the Plague” the song playing was used in the movie “HOBO with a SHOTGUN” which was shot in my hometown. I worked in a video game store in my hometown with the then-aspiring director of that movie, and we let a customer play games with us all the time, he was quite unstable but super entertaining and he became the inspiration for the full feature HOBO with a SHOTGUN movie.
I can’t make this up 4Scarrs !
PERSONA 5
I can name more but right now this is what i am listening too.
LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME
but tooooo many others to name
Final Fantasy X, every song is just so good for the moment and I even listen to the soundtrack outside of the game that’s how much i have loved it.
Skyrim. The deep chants hype you up every time.
Nothing will ever beat the soundtrack of Skyrim, the orchestra behind it was simply amazing. Every battle scene was amplified with the music they produced. With out a doubt the best soundtrack out of a game.
Halo need I say more and the first splinter cell. To this day I still hum them.
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I played that game decades ago but still hum every melody with joy.
NieR:Automata – the music is somehow perfectly suited to that game and more importantly I never get tired of listening to it.
Final Fantasy 7
The best soundtrack I’ve heard in a game recently is Nier Automata. It is haunting.
I would have to go with The Legend Of Zelda: Oracina of Time. All the melodies are extremely recognizable and give me instant nostalgia. What a great game!
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past for sure.
The best video game music for me is Lego Jurassic World. John Williams is a master composer that no one compares. Every time I hear the theme in the game it just excites me. I play this game for hours on end.
Final Fantasy 6 is the most iconic soundtrack. Kefka’s music alone makes it so.
Diablo
To me, the best soundtrack has always been the one from The Legend of Zelda franchise. I grew up with it and I recall so many memories each time I play a new title. It stays in you and makes you feel part of Hyrule.
The Bolero of Fire and Zelda’s lullaby from Ocarina of Time will stay in my mind forever.
Halo. The guitar solo gets to me every time. The sound track lives in my car as driving music.
Has to be the original Out Run racing game by Sega. Still hum that every so often
Super Mario
NBA Live 18 tracks are so motivating and really pump you up
The Halo series by far. Can still sing those notes great in my shower every morning… or so I think.
Kingdom Hearts has the best as it is the most memorable for making my friend cry =)
