From the early Game and Watch to the insanely popular Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo keep innovating with new tech and new games that keep resonating for decades to come. Read on to learn how to enter for a chance to win the latest chapter in the history of gaming, a Nintendo Switch Lite.

Mario and Monster Hunter live on with the Nintendo Switch Lite

I find it amazing that Mario is still a stalwart companion for all Nintendo gamers. Everyone loves him. In fact, there are many articles and social threads where people argue about who is more popular: Mario or Mickey! Nintendo has a bevy of familiar characters that have a long history—and, that have become part of our own personal histories.

Monster Hunter Rise game for Nintendo Switch

I have many wonderful memories of my children playing Mario Kart with their grandparents for hours and hours. It was almost impossible to get a turn for myself!

And Nintendo keeps producing games to join the ranks of our favourites. The newest one will launch near the end of this month: Monster Hunter Rise. This action role playing game (RPG) will bring on those feelings of familiarity for veterans of the Monster Hunter series, but offer exciting new characters and surprises to thrill everyone. Note: as with all popular new releases, you should pre-order it since they all tend to sell out by launch day or soon thereafter.

How will Monster Hunter Rise rank in your personal Nintendo library

Okay, so I know you can’t answer that question until you play the game, and you can’t play the game until you have it, and at the time this contest launched Monster Hunter Rise was still only available for pre-order. But humour me and think about it and speculate: do you think Monster Hunter Rise will become your new favourite Nintendo game. Then, enter this contest for a chance to win this great prize. The Best Buy Canada marketing team used this Nintendo Switch Lite in a display for a couple weeks a while back. They then asked me if I wanted to give it away to a blog reader. So, now you have a chance to win it!

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in two different ways

  1. Leave a comment below and tell us what is your favourite Nintendo game of all time. (I wonder how many people will change their mind after playing Monster Hunter Rise.)
  2. Send an email to me at (email removed: entries are closed for this contest) with an answer to this question: tell us three (3) games located on the Nintendo Switch games page you would love to play on the Nintendo Switch Lite if you win this contest.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly select one winner from all eligible entries to receive the Nintendo Switch Lite (Turquoise) that I have at my desk.

This contest runs from March 19th until April 4th.

Remember you can enter this contest once in a comment below and once in an email. However, you likely know many other people who absolutely love to play Nintendo games and would not want to miss out on a chance to win a Nintendo Switch Lite.

If I win, I’d go for Mario cart, animal crossing and Mario party! Cheers

  7. My favourite Nintendo game of all time is Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The satisfaction of finding heart containers, the cuccos attack… so many good memories 🙂

  8. My favourite Nintendo game of all time is Super Mario World for SNES which was groundbreaking for its time. Despite it being a 2D platformer, it still holds up today as a shining example of videogame design.

  9. My favorite game was Super Mario Galaxy, it was not only my first real 3d Mario game that I absolutely fell in love with. I just love the idea of space and exploring galaxies. The music was absolutely beautiful, the cool little ideas that the game blast at you with so many ideas and gimmicks that get expanded every single level that you play, 3d in 2d, the luma stars, and the gravity physics that are just so cool
I always look back at that game with complete happiness and nostalgia. Seeing it upscaled and widescreen looking just as good as remember it. Puts a tear in my eye.

  10. Based on the last year, it would have to be Animal Crossing because it has really kept me sane!

  11. Goldeneye 007
My friends hated playing against me, somehow i wouldn’t die if the shot me with the golden gun, I would just graze me and I kept running.

  12. Thanks for the chance to win. My favourite Nintendo game of all time is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but the Mario Kart series as a whole takes the cake!

  13. My favorite Nintendo game of all time will definately have to be the Pokemon video games series in particular Pokemon Emerald!

  14. My favourite Nintendo game of all time is probably Pokemon Snap. I don’t think I’ve had such a unique gaming experience since then. Looking forward to the new Switch version, although I don’t have a Switch at the moment lol…

  15. When it comes to my favourite Nintendo game of all time, I would have to say the fan favourite Super Smash Bros Melee. I would also like to see a couple of games make their triumphant return on the Nintendo Switch. I want to see the next instalment of the Mario Strikers series and myself and many other fans have long awaited a sequel to Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. If only Nintendo, Next Level Games (or whichever developer owns the Striker series), and Genius Sonority/Game Freak would give the fans what they want.

  16. I cannot imagine going through life without having played Ocarina of Time, so many memories! Please Nintendo, please make it happen on the Switch!

  17. My favourite game on a Nintendo system is Final Fantasy VI (III) without a doubt. As for games made by Nintendo, it’s gotta be Ocarina of Time. I’ve actually been wanting to replay it. Hopefully both of these games make their way to Switch at some point.

  18. Old school, I loved that first game and console I ever bought, the Nintendo Game & Watch Multi Screen Mario Bros 1983. They worked on different screens to load crates with bottles they onto the truck, when you loaded 10 crates, the truck would leave and the game then sped up. Helped passed many hours.

  19. Favorite game of all time that I want to play as I don’t have a Nintendo switch is legend of Zelda breath of the wild!!! Im alittle behind on games but I want to win to try it out. Then again any game including monster hunter rise will be amazing in the palm of my hands.

  20. My favourite Nintendo game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the gameboy. The Switch remake was a lot of fun too, but to me nothing can beat the original. Thanks for the contest Martin!

  21. Fave Nintendo Game of all time was Super Mario 3 – seeing the secret level in The Wizard was something I think about often
