Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference

Ubisoft never fails to impress with their yearly E3 press conferences. This year, Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference was no different! The Assassin’s Creed Symphony, composed of an 80-piece orchestra along with a choir, kicked off the event by playing iconic themes from the Assassin’s Creed games. From there on, it was all business!
Let’s take a look at the highlights from Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference from earlier today.

Watch Dogs: Legion

The rumoured and often talked about next installment in the Watch Dog series was finally unveiled today at Ubisoft’s press conference. The game takes place in London, in the not too distant future. Its people are oppressed and held captive by an all-seeing corrupt private military that controls the streets and preys on the most vulnerable. Your mission is to build a resistance to fight back and take control of the city.

Watch Dogs: Legion is billed as gamers having the complete freedom to play as anyone. And from what was shown, it’s true. The almost 20 minutes of gameplay shown started out with Ian, a member of the resistance. Out and about in the city, he is out on a scouting mission looking to recruit a new member who can deal with the ever-growing threat of drones in the city.

After a short walk, and scanning a handful of people, Ian comes across Jimmy Shaw—a drone expert. However, Jimmy is in trouble with one of the state’s troops. In the process of trying to save Jimmy, Ian is killed. This is where we learn that death is permanent and there is no coming back.

What really impressed me is that each and every character is unique. They all have their own back story and specialties. And, you can level them up to unlock new abilities and upgrades. Not only does the game look fantastic, the sheer size of the game appears to be massive.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

The next installment in the Rainbow Six series, Rainbow Six Quarantine is coming from Ubisoft Montreal. The game takes place several years in the future of the Rainbow Six universe. You face off against a highly lethal new breed of mutated alien parasite infecting human hosts and their surroundings.

What really got my attention and interested in the game is when Lead Game Designer Bio Jade Adam-Granger came out on stage and explained that quarantine is radically re-designed and is aiming to be one of this generation’s best shooters.

Rainbow Six Quarantine is currently slated to be released in early 2020. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the game and more gameplay footage.

The ultimate party game is back Just Dance 2020

A Ubisoft press conference wouldn’t be complete with out a brand-new Just Dance game. Celebrating 10 years of Just Dance, dancers made their way to stage to put on a show for the audience. Just Dance 2020 brings the party to players with 40 new songs, a digital collection of iconic stickers, and the return of co-op mode.

If you are a fan of the Just Dance series, Just Dance 2020 sounds like it very well could be the best in the series yet.

Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference thoughts

Ubisoft’s press conference hit a home run with virtually everyone in attendance and rightfully so. In addition to the games mentioned above, they announced new DLC for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a new year 3 season 2 event in For Honor, a Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta, and a subscription-based service called Uplay +.

Furthermore, Ubisoft is backing Stadia in a big way with virtually every new game coming to the system, including Uplay +.

  1. That Watch Dogs trailer looked pretty cool. It could have a really interesting story. I’m definitely keeping it on my radar. I was surprised that Ubisoft didn’t announce a new game in their partnership with Nintendo. When the conference opened with Assassin’s Creed orchestral music I kind of thought they would announce Assassin’s Creed: Hyrule.

That teaser for Gods & Monsters looked amazing. I love games in a cartoony art style. I really hope the game makes it over to Switch, I feel like that would be a good fit for it!
