If your favourite TV has always been LG, you’re going to be excited for the new lineup of TVs they’ve just announced at CES 2022. They’ve got new LG OLED TVs in larger-than-life sizes, the world’s smallest OLED TV, and two lifestyle TVs that go well beyond hanging on a wall.
LG announces two new lifestyle TVs
LG announced two lifestyle TVs with a unique style and features that make them perfect for every living room. They are more than just TVs – they are a way to turn your home into your own home office, art gallery, or gym.
LG Objet TV
To say the LG Objet TV has a minimalist design is doing it a disservice. Whether you mount it or just lean it against your wall, it looks like an art canvas. With a touch of a button on the remote, your TV can raise or lower the fabric cover, and the interchangeable cover will display the full screen when you’re watching TV or movies. When you aren’t watching you can partially cover the display to access all of the lifestyle functions.
Some of the main features on this TV include an LG OLED evo panel for amazing picture quality and a built-in 80 watt, 4.2 channel surround sound system for fantastic audio. The covers come in three colours including Kvadrat Beige, Kvadrat Redwood, Kvadrat Green to match any home interior.
LG StanbyME TV
The LG StanbyME TV is an all-in-one, rollable entertainment center. It has a wireless TV screen with built-in battery and moveable stand. The stand has concealed wheels to make it easy to move around from room to room.
The built-in battery is attached to the stand, and you’ll get three hours of viewing wherever you’d like to watch. The screen is only 27 inches, but that’s the perfect size to double as a computer monitor in your home office or for online school, and the screen can be tilted, swivelled, or rotated as you need.
When you’re not watching the TV, the LG StanbyME will display artwork, your own photos, or a calendar with a clock. I can imagine the possibilities having a TV like this would offer, and I’m really excited for this one to hit shelves this year.
LG OLED TV’s announced at CES 2022
LG OLEDs have always been a favourite for gamers and home theatre fans, and the LG C1 OLED has been at the top of the list for a long time. With the release of the latest LG OLED TVs, it’s going to be hard to choose among all the OLED displays.
LG G2 OLED TV
The LG G2 OLED TV is the boldest, brightest 4K OLED TV ever released by the brand. It’s now available on a positively gigantic 97″ screen, and it has advanced AI-based processing performance and a brightness increase of 20% over some of the LG C2 models.
You can also choose the new LG G2 83″ OLED TV if you’d like a slightly smaller big screen, and LG is also offering the LG G2 in a 42 inch size for the first time ever. The 42 inch size makes this TV the world’s smallest OLED.
The LG G2 features an ultra-thin bezel, the evo OLED panel, and the new (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor. Brightness Booster technology is on board to deliver a brighter display, and it has new heat dissipation technology as well.
The LG G2 83-inch 4K OLED TV won the CES 2022 Innovation Honoree award, so if you want to bring home a big TV with crystal clear picture quality, be on the lookout for this model at some point this year.
LG C2 OLED TV
The LG C2 OLED is the next generation of the very popular LG C1. It’s a true gamer TV with evo OELD display, rapid response time, and amazing colour and contrast. It comes in a variety of sizes. The LG 42″ C2 OLED TV, LG 48″ C2 OLED TV and the LG 83″ C2 OLED TV won the CES 2022 Innovation Honoree award.
These new TVs are certified flick free and glare-free, and the latest LG OLED TVs have game-specific features like the new Dark Room Mode. It adjusts screen brightness for a better gaming experience when your lights are off. There are also settings for variable refresh rate and a new sports mode for blistering fast FPS games.
LG QNED Mini LED TV
LG might be known for OLED, but they also unveiled a Quantum Dot Mini LED TV – the LG QNED Mini LED TV utilizes LG Quantum Dot Nanocell technology, has fantastic colour reproduction with 100 percent colour volume, and is able to deliver the darkest blacks possible on non-OLED TV thanks to LG’s Precision Dimming.
LG α 9 Gen 5 processor
Most of the TVs announced at CES 2022 will be running the new LG α 9 Gen 5 processor. It offers enhanced upscaling and expands LG’s AI Sound Pro so the TV’s speakers can produce 7.1.2 surround sound.
New LG TV services
LG wants to make at-home viewing the best it possibly can be, and they’ve released a few new services to reflect that. LG LIVENow offers you access to online live concerts and sports events, giving you that virtual feeling of being there even if you’re sitting on your couch.
The LG 1M HomeDance app teaches you how to dance like your favourite K-Pop stars, and you can perfect your moves, check out your form with Camera mode, or dance along with professional choreographers.
LG Fitness is LG’s own health platform, and it will help you get healthier at home with HIIT programs, guided meditations, and app-based fitness tracking.
There’s also LG Independa, a way for you to take care of family members remotely or assist a senior in your life. It’s a tele-healthcare service that’s intuitive and easy to use. You can start a video chat, tap into professional services, and receive alerts if someone is calling, all from your webOS screen.
LG ThinQ AI gets an upgrade
LG ThinQ AI will become even more of a smart home hub in 2022. Devices with LG ThinQ AI can be easily voice-controlled and connected together. There is now support for Matter to let you use your LG TV as a controller for all of your connected devices.
