Projectors serve a variety of purposes in both your personal and professional life. Whether delivering a presentation, having friends over to watch a basketball game, or simply playing an old Charlie Chaplin movie against the backdrop of a summer evening shindig, these BenQ projectors will help you communicate your message effectively, create a true home theatre for group enjoyment, or set the perfect ambiance for your soirees and get-togethers. Technologically advanced and functionally versatile, keeping a projector on hand will prove to be one of the best tech acquisition decisions you’ve made. But don’t take my word for it. Read on, see for yourself, and enter this contest for a chance to win your own BenQ HT1070A Home Cinema Projector or MW526AE Digital Projector.

Modern BenQ projectors for the home or workplace

You remember those old bulky, noisy, projectors from the past. The kind your 3rd grade teacher would use to show your class the pyramids for a history lesson. Perhaps your boring Aunt Betty used one to display countless albums and home movies of the yearly vacation to who-knows-where. Yeah, you remember those projectors. They were big and clunky, project with poor image quality, and your teacher or aunt always seemed to experience technical difficulties with them while you waited for the tedious session to end. Much like the rest of tech we now enjoy, from smartphones to televisions, projectors have evolved. They are now compact and impressively powerful.

We sent two models in the BenQ line of projectors to a Canadian blogger for honest reviews. The BenQ HT1070A Home Cinema Projector is designed for the home, while the BenQ MW526AE Digital Projector was made for professional use, but the two can be used interchangeably, and will not disappoint in either domain.

Read Darren Blakeborough’s separate reviews of each unit. Darren found that the HT1070A Home Cinema Projector showcases a crisp, clear 1080p HD image, a massive screen size, and awesome colour reproduction thanks to CinematicColor technology.

As for the MW526 Digital Projector, the reviewer was impressed with how lightweight and compact the unit was, the solid 15000:1 contrast ratio, and how vivid text appears on-screen.

Both projectors offer the freedom to customize your screen size anywhere from 60″ to 300″, and feature an array of inputs and outputs, including HDMI. Show off the content you love: connect a streaming device, television signal, computer, and more. Use the built-in speakers or connect to your home theatre system for a full audio experience. Project on a white wall (a light background of almost any kind will do nicely), or add your own projection screen to really enhance the experience.

  6. I would love to start my theatre with the HT1070A! we plan on purchasing some of the theatre seating too, maybe the Valencia. (not sure which version yet).
Of course a grey projection screen is first on the list as well.

  7. What I’d really need for this is the eGALAXY® POTABLE UNIVERSAL PROJECTOR TRIPOD STAND: PM104, as I would want to be able to display movies or even still pictures, to all my friends anywhere.

  8. what else you’d want so you could personalize and optimize your projector experience and why. = good set of portable speakers so could maximize the drive theatre experience down by the dock for summer outdoor movies

  9. I would want to get a home theatre system, like the Onkyo HT-S7800 5.1.2 Channel Dolby Atmos Home Theatre System, to combine with my new projector for an awesome home movie theatre setup – great big picture and great sound.

  10. I would want an audio system with a volume limiter lock in case the kids start playing with the remotes 🙂

  11. I want a screen. It would need to be a portable one though, because I want to make a ‘drive-in’ for the grandkids to watch a movie in the backyard. Make little cars out of cardboard boxes and have popcorn and treats…. they’d love it.

  12. I really need a new audio receiver for sound and a comfy recliner would be great as well.

  13. I would like some in-ceiling speakers for finishing my basement to go with the projector. The Polk Audio In-Ceiling Speaker (SC60) would be great for completing my Dolby Atmos setup.

  14. The Valencia Tuscany Top Grain Nappa Leather Power Reclining, Power Lumbar, Power Headrest Home Theater Seating Row of 2-Seat would make a perfect addition to my man cave

  20. I would need to get a recliner, all the hours I would spend watching movies, playing games, yaking on Skype and drooling over all my fav, IG posts would be exhausting!

  21. I’ve kind of wanted a recliner for a while, but it’s not in the budget. That being said, if it was in the budget I would go for the Saturn 2-Seat Leather Gel Power Recliner Home Theatre Seating – Black – Online Only because it is currently on sale for $899.99 ($650 off the normal price). With the link here: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/saturn-2-seat-leather-gel-power-recliner-home-theatre-seating-black/b0008433.aspx?

I like the portable idea so I could take it to a friends or family place and even outside if needed. Awesome options.

  24. Never heard of these before but a portable outdoor movie screen would definitely personalize and optimize my projector experience. Almost like a drive-in movie experience from times past, but within walking distance!

  25. I would get a recliner like the Furniture of America Enrique Chenille Recliner in Gray to
replace mine as it is 35 years old and no longer comfortable
