Sphero, Anki, and Oculus make learning magical

There is a huge range of STEM and robotics toys available these days, and the best part is, they’re so much fun to use that kids will enjoy learning.

Sphero creates toys like the BOLT robotic ball to teach kids coding through a block-based visual language. (My personal favourites were Fizzgig from Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal and Pegasus from Disney’s Hercules). On of the hottest toys this year are the Fingerlings Hugs by WowWee. He is obsessed with motorcycles and he thinks when he is an adult I (his mother) will let him have one…but I don’t think that will happen ever! He has such a love of everything science and how things are made, and spends most of his days outdoors. I think he would insist on making his own video as opposed to watching online.

  25. Our son would love one of the ride -on vehicles as he’s at the age now to drive one while being supervised. He loves cars, trucks and most vehicles so that would be perfect for him driving in our yard demonstrating his skills to daddy, uncle and grandpa.

  40. My granddaughter who is 8 years old has just started to be interested in facts. She has put on the top of her list for grandma and papa –a globe for her desk ie. Elenco 11″ Dual Cartograph Illuminated Globe. Having a younger brother, she is a great influence for him to learn through play as well.
