DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  5. I really like that it has the capability to take videos in 8K Hyperlapse! And, it has voice prompts so it would make it easy to fly the drone in the beginning while learning the controls.

  7. I met a guy that has a larger dvi. I was amazed at its features. I asked him what features I should look for if I were to buy one. He recommended a smaller model dvi, simply for the ease of packing for vacation. Then I see this one. I want one!

  8. I’d love to use the auto-follow that lets you lock onto a subject and follow them on my kid when they’re riding their bike on our local trails!

  9. Wow, there is so much I love about this drone. From being light-weight and foldable, to the max distance (10K), the 34 minute run-time and the huge storage capabilities (8K on board and up to 256K micro SD card), it is just what the doctor ordered, LOL!

  12. H Bestbuy, I would love to try the max speed on the DJI Mavic Air 2 which is stated as 68kph. I want to see if it can keep up with me on my dirt bike without disconnecting and also keeping up with my speed. I think I might be able to get some amazing closeup photos and 4K videos of me doing some basic jumps on the bike with the drone hovering above. Fingers crossed. Cheers

  13. Would love the scanner. Did a !ot of paintings in isolation …sure could put this to use!

  14. Being able to film 4K at 60 frames per second means that the resolution is pretty impressive for a drone. Would love to see pictures of the Rockies using a drone with that quality.
