Imagine if you could have all those moments at any time in your busy life. That kind of convenience combined with the lovable moments a pet can bring, plus easy cleanup to boot, is not only possible, it’s downright easy with the Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser and the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can with Voice Control. Read on to find out how this handy combo makes having a pet even more fun and lets you share special moments from anywhere.

From cat videos to cute stories, we all love pets

Everyone loves cat videos, it seems. They basically rule the Internet, and for good reason: they’re adorable. I’ve been known to steal a moment (or two) at work to watch a few on my laptop. Plus, watching puppy livestreams is basically a hobby of mine now. I suppose the availability of high quality smart cameras has helped boost the number of these online. Getting to watch these super cute pets even when I’m nowhere near them physically is something I’ve integrated into my daily routine by now.

Like other people without pets, I also use these live streams to vicariously experience the joy and fun pets can bring. In a similar manner, I definitely ask to see my coworkers’ pets whenever possible. From their adorably chubby cats to their fluffy dogs, photos and videos of their pets are even better, because I get to hear all the stories that go along with them. Like that time their rabbit chewed through their computer cords, immensely proud of itself when discovered, or their dog who’s afraid of waves in the ocean.

Many of those stories involve a similar desire for all these pet owners: the ability to interact with their beloved animals when they’re not at home. I don’t imagine their animals collude together, in the style of The Secret Life of Pets, or anything, but I definitely would appreciate a break at work to see my coworkers’ pets on their smartphones in real-time.

Plus, I know that pets come with cleanup needs, and anything to make that easier would mean more cute stories for me. That is, I mean, more convenience for my coworkers. How would these two things combine, you ask? Read on to find out how!

Keep tabs on pets and keep things clean, too

The Dogness iPet Smart Robot pet treat dispenser sits on a wooden floor to the left of the image; an orange cat stares at it from the right side of the image. You could set up a webcam to keep an eye on your pets, but could that webcam hand out treats, shine a laser pointer, and make sounds, too? As you can see in Shelly Wutke’s review of the Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser, that’s possible. The iPet Smart Robot can maneuver around your home and take video. It can even dispense treats and shine a laser pointer to entertain and reward your pets from afar. Plus, it can make noises like growls, barks, and meows to get your pet’s attention—and even stop them from doing something naughty when you’re not there. It comes with an app where you can control the robot and its functions, plus view the camera’s live feed and take photos (that you can then share with your friends and coworkers).

After you do get home, there’s probably still some cleanup to be done with pets around. You may have stopped the cat from tearing up all the toilet paper thanks to your Dogness iPet Smart Robot, but there is still a litterbox to clean. Thankfully, the folks at Simplehuman came up with the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can with Voice Control. A smart trash can may seem silly at first, but trust me, after you see Shelly’s review you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. For example, you’ve scooped up the kitty litter and now you have to get it into the trash. Instead of having to fiddle with foot pedals or getting your cabinets dirty, you can just say “open can” and drop in the cat litter.

With both these devices, not only will you be able to see and interact with your lovable companions from afar, you’ll be able to keep tabs on them and keep everything clean, too.

  1. Voice recognition on the trash can would come in handy for me as I have a muscle disorder and sometimes opening lids is just a pain

  2. The low volume of noise on the trash can : 52dB sound ensures quiet lid opening and closing.

  3. The feature that stands out to me the most is that the “Dogness iPet Smart Robot Treat Dispenser” can use sound to stop your pet from doing something like pooping on the ground (and not in their litter box). That is immensely helpful.

  4. The sensor can with voice control looks like a handy device to have around, like in kitchen or other high traffic locations around the house.

  5. voice control is a great feature for the garbage can and the video for the robot would be great to see how our pet interacts with it when we are not home

  6. Voice activated trash can is my favourite, I hate germs and always want to avoid dirty surfaces so not touching them is amazing

  7. These days, anything touch less is a given must have and voice control is my favorite feature of all products these days, so futuristic

  8. I love that I can play with my dog remotely. Sometimes I just want to check in and provide some entertainment when he’s alone.

  9. My 2 favorite features are the 360-degree control and view and the
Interactive laser. Keeping an eye on my fur babies while at work is important, but, being able to give them some active play time while at work? Even better!

  10. I like how you can check in on your pet while you are away from home and feed it a treat so it doesn’t feel as lonely

  11. On the treat dispenser I like the remote camera viewing feature and on the can I like the hands free operation

  12. The treat dispenser to keep them entertained as well as taking video and photos! What a great way to keep an eye on them while away, adds that peace of mind.

  13. Those voice commands for the Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can would come in handy to keep the trash lid open when it gets busy/hectic in the kitchen

  14. This looks like an awesome win! The best part of the Ipet robot is that it has wheels! As oppose to others that dont! My bengal can be as high as 8′, the fact that the camera has a tilt on it may work for me! Gotta keep an eye out on my kitty while im away for work!

  15. the remote camera viewing feature on the treat dispenser is great. and voice control on the sensor can would be so handy, both great sounding products

  16. This is great and taking pictures of my cats and also dispensing treats would be a great feature to have.

  17. I like that the treat dispenser also can make attention grabbing sounds to keep your pet on their best behaviour when you’re not around!

  18. laser function on the robot treat dispenser 😉 you can watch it happen through the built-in camera.

  19. Voice activated trash can would be amazing to keep my 19 month old out of the trash. It’s sleek looking and goes well with my stainless steel appliances. Currently we have a cheap plastic fake stainless steel look trash can.

  20. The laser pointer is key for cats and I would assume it would be less scary for the cats. My dog would love the treats.

The dogness ipet is a cool product, thanks for sharing

  21. The Simplehuman 58L Sensor Can with Voice Control. Hallelujah, I don’t have to touch anything!!

  22. The Simplehuman Can best feature is the hands free voice activation and would be great to have this in my home. Thank you.

  23. The voice control is an awesome feature about the Simplehuman Can and would be great to have this in my home. Thank you.

  24. I love how the robot can bark to get your dogs attention. I am always scared leaving my dogs out and alone in case they decide to destroy something.

The garbage can is great for voice activation, when hands are full you can just tell the can to open.

  25. The best feature highlighted by Shelley about Simplehuman Sensor Can is – “If you’re going to come back with more garbage, you can say “Stay Open,” and the can won’t automatically close.”

My favorite feature about the Simplehuman Can is the voice control. I have a motion sensor Can at home but so many times, I’ve to make multiple trips while cleaning and each time I’ve to wave over the can with stuff in my hand before I can throw and this voice control feature is the perfect solution to keep floors tidy and manage cleaning in a better way.

  26. A robot that can play with my cats and distribute treats, it’s cat heaven! Even better for me is the camera as we have a cat that like to pee on things… does this marvelous device have a sentry/follow mode?
I do not think i’d have as much use for a voice activated bin in the kitchen but I would in the bathroom. I am concerned about how and where to plug it in. But I like how it has both motion and voice activation.

  27. I really like that the iPet can use a laser pointer to play with your pets. That sounds so fun. I do like the voice control in the senser can, but my primary garbage can is under my sink, so I’m unsure how useful it will be for me. I’ll have to wait and see after I win the contest! 😉

As a side note, I do not have a pet at this time, but the companionship of a robot pet might be nice. Could I get it to dispense skittles to me?

    • Seriously the Dogness iPet Smart Robot can both dispense treats and point a laser, where has this been all my dogs life. She lives for both of these things.

  28. Dispensing treats remotely is a very cool feature. Especially so when you can watch it happen through the built-in camera!

I’m all about having hands free operation for everything so that trash can is superb!

    • Well, it just breaks my heart when I have to leave my Maltese, Suzi, home alone. Being able for her to have the Dogness Ipet Smart Pet robot keep her company would easy my mind. The treat dispenser would ease hers, hahaha. To be able to open the SimplyHuman voice activation Stay Open would be amazing.

  29. I love the idea of not touching the can with my hands after scooping poop, so voice control would be wonderful! 5 cats, a lot of poop scooping!
