Arlo security cameras can help make any home more secure, whether you are home or away from home. The peace of mind you get while you are sleeping is nothing compared to the calm you feel while on holidays, still able to see your home with the app on your phone or tablet. They are a versatile and reliable way to be aware of everything happening near your home. This is especially true of the Arlo camera bundles, like the Essential bundle we are giving away in this contest. Learn more about how this bundle is essential for travellers, then enter for a chance to win one.
Why prowlers don’t like Arlo cameras
Last week, a neighbour posted on our community Facebook page that he had a prowler on his property the previous night. His dog was “yapping like crazy” he said and he saw the back of a dark figure running down his driveway. He had no idea who it was and could not give much of a description. I’m sure this particular prowler didn’t like that this property had a dog. However, they would have really hated if it had Arlo cameras capturing a crystal clear picture on video that could be instantly shared with neighbours and with the police.
The Arlo Essential camera bundle we are giving away gives better security than a dog for many reasons. A dog might bark, which might potentially scare off an intruder (but not always since brazen thieves might not care if a dog is inside the house). However, when the camera suddenly illuminates the area, the natural first thing to do is to look into the light. At that instant the thief knows they have been captured on video, and that video has already been sent to the cloud. There is nothing they can do at that point. Another reason that this bundle is better than a dog is because it comes with four cameras, for equally strong security coverage at multiple sites in or around your home. Lastly, this security is equally strong even if you and your dog are not home. While you are on holidays, your dog may be with a friend or family member. Your cameras, however, are placed at essential locations around your home: they’re wireless so you will move them around as you please inside and outside your home. You can access the footage, and share clear HD video of nasty prowlers, no matter where you are in the world.
Rethink what is essential for your next trip so you don’t forget anything
Forgetting is normal, it’s human—but it’s also frustrating! Preparation is the key to a vacation with everything essential taken care of. Will you be travelling somewhere this spring or summer? Check out our travel buying guide well before you leave to help you prepare. Our intention was to make it broad enough so that it could help as many people as possible. That article has five sections to help you focus on the many things you might want to consider before your next trip. You’ll noticed, that the last section is about home security: often this is the last thing people think about. Hopefully one lasting impact you get from entering this contest, whether you win the Arlo Essential camera bundle prize or not, is that you take care of home security well before your next trip.Â

Win an Arlo Essential smart home camera bundle Rules and Regulations
Good Luck!
Both a guard dog and the Arlo system would be great for me.
I believe that most people tend to forget about their home security while they are away and also don’t remember to bring an unlocked cell phone with them.
Arlo camera system. No feeding and no pooper scooping!
I would like to have both, my large dog barks very loud and even keeps strangers from ringing the doorbell sometimes. An ARLO camera system would be great to catch images of intruders and for times when I go somewhere and take the dog with me.
People tend to forget powerbanks and travel power adapters.
Both a guard dog and the Arlo system would be great security features!
both would make a great security combo
I would love to use Arlo camera systems for home security. Thank you!
A guard dog and an Arlo camera because you can never have too much security
People tend to mostly forget power adapters and power banks to keep your tech charged
I would rather have an Arlo camera system that is on 24×7 and not have worry about a dog sitter when travelling.
I like the camera system . you don’t have to feed it .
I would want both the guard dog and the Arlo camera system. The reason is because I love dogs. The companionship is great. I’d want the Arlo camera system because the dog can’t talk and tell me exactly what’s going on so I would love to be able to check in on the camera
Extra memory Card & Water Bottle are forgotten items on our travels. Have to pass on the dog living in an Apt. Prefer being safe with Security Camera. You just Never know.
Most people tend to forget power banks and power adaptors!
I would like a dog and the Arlo security system, this would help secure my house
I’d like to have the Arlo camera system. I have a dog already but he is far too friendly to be any use as a a guard dog
No on the dog yes on the Arlo camera system I seen those in Alaska and they’re great but I haven’t had a chance to have them yet myself to have them yet myself
i think people forget to make sure that their cellphone is unlocked as well as finding out the size of allowable carry on luggage
i would love to have the camera because we are away a lot and i would feel safer being able to check in
I think most people forget to bring a water bottle and extra memory cards.
I have a dog already so I would need the Arlo camera system to complete the security around my home. They would compliment each other. When the dog goes for a walk, you’re still covered, when the camera system needs maintenance, you’re still covered. Best to have both.
A guard dog and an Arlo camera since you can never have too much security.
I think most people forget a power adapter and water bottle.
The Arlo camera system (no dog). Seems less expensive and disruptive at night then having a dog.
I think most people tend to forget to pack their adaptors and power banks before going on a trip!
I’d love to have the Arlo cameras, they protect your home and are less maintenance that a dog (ha ha ha!) — I’m an animal lover, but not home enough to look after a dog properly so the cameras are a natural choice for me!
I would rather have both an Arlo Camera System & a dog, but not a guard dog. The Arlo camera system not only records but lights up the area so that the potential thief will be scared away. I love how the recording of the thief is immediately sent to a cloud which would provide identification evidence of someone trying to break in & we can share that information with our neighbours & the police. I want the dog as well as not only will the barking alert us but the Arlo Camera System’s only deficit is that it can’t give us kisses & cuddles like our dog.
Two essential items would be spare batteries and power adapters.
Both a dog and a camera system since they complement each other’s well.
Tel things people forgot:
smart lights!!!! Such a good idea. And security cameras
I would prefer camera system. I feel like that would give me the most sense of relief.
People tend to forget, power banks in the event they are not near a place to charge, and extra storage for their camera when taking videos and pictures
I would like both, Arlo would let me see without having to get into danger and my dog would alert me with sound.
Would really help me with my dog
Would like Arlo to see and dog to smell.
You don`t have to feed the Camera System or take it out for walks, so that is what I would prefer!
The camera system, as I already have a dog.
I’d rather have both – the dog’s barking to warn away prowlers and the camera to capture images and video to use with police if something untoward happens.
People tend to forget spare batteries and power adapters.
The camera system, already have a dog
Both as the cam system can record and the dog can scare off thieves
Two essential items that people often overlook when packing for a trip are spare batteries and power adapters. These items can be crucial for ensuring that electronic devices remain functional during travel and that they can be charged or powered up when needed.
I bet people forget to bring power adapters and power banks when traveling.
I’d rather have the arlo camera system. I don’t have enough room for a guard dog. But I like the security a camera system provides.
I prefer Arlo camera systems. They provide continuous surveillance and can be monitored remotely, which can offer peace of mind to homeowners. They do not require as much maintenance as a guard dog and are less intrusive in daily life.
I’d rather have a security camera system because I have no room for a dog (and my two cats might disagree with one being in the house anyway…)
An Arlo camera system – An Amazing Piece of Technology and I would feel very safe and secure at home with Arlo.
I think most people forget adapters and a backpack.
Both a dog and a camera system are ideal as they compliment each other. However, I’m not good with animals so I’ll have to stick with the cameras.
