patio.jpgThere is something so magical about creating an outdoor living space that you can retreat to during the warm summer months. Whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee in solitude, or entertaining the entire family, a functional outdoor space needs to have the appropriate furniture. I’m a little limited on space given that my balcony is only eight feet by eight feet, but if I had more room, here are some options I’d definitely consider.

Nantucket.jpgFor Dining

A table and chairs is an essential component to any outdoor living space, and this Nantucket Contemporary 5-Piece Dining Set from CorLiving is a great option. Not only is its steel frame made of weatherproof materials, but it sleek design will add a nice modern flair to any patio. The table also has integrated wheels so you can move it from one side of your patio to the other without having to lift it, and the chairs themselves fold and stack under the collapsible table making storage super simple.

Gallant.jpgIf you already have a patio table and are just looking for new chairs, or if you just need more chairs for your summer backyard barbeques or garden parties, this set of four Gallant Contemporary Dining Chairs is ideal. Built with a durable powder-coated aluminum frame, these chairs were designed to withstand whatever Mother Nature throws at them so they stand the test of time. Plus, their understated contemporary style will complement any patio, deck or outdoor space.

Lounge.jpgFor Relaxation

For those days when you want to curl up with a good book, or get the ladies together for a few glasses of wine, an lounge set is the perfect addition to your outdoor space. A modular set like this four-piece one from Borealis is a great option because it allows you to configure the pieces to suit your space and your preferences. Its right armchair, left armchair, and armless chair can be arranged into one long couch, one sofa and one chair, or can stand alone as three separate chairs. The set also comes with a coffee table and extra thick seat cushions that are weather-resistant for long-lasting durability.

If you have a little more room to play with, this eight-piece outdoor lounge set, also from Borealis, might be just what you need. It too is modular so you can arrange the pieces to suit your entertaining needs, and comes with three armless chairs, two club chairs, two side tables and one ottoman.

Recliner.jpgFor Rest

Sometimes a perfect summer day includes nothing more than dozing in the sunshine, and I can’t think of a better way to do that than on this Wood Canyon Pine Patio chair. Even though it is made of solid pine, the way it is contoured to your body makes it look so comfortable and inviting.

Swing.jpgFor Romance

I don’t know why, but I associate outdoor swings with romance. Maybe it’s because I always see them in cheesy romantic movies or in photos of sprawling Southern estates, but yes, to me, swings mean romance. That said, I could totally see myself sitting in this Nantucket Patio Swing with a good book and a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Its shade canopy would provide protection from the sun’s rays, so you could stay outside all day long in shaded comfort. Plus, the backrest folds down to create a daybed, making it perfect for a mid-day siesta, or a night sleeping under the stars.

Each of these pieces will go a long way to enhancing your patio or deck and giving you endless hours of comfortable outdoor living this summer, and for many summers to come. Just be sure to wear your sunscreen to protect yourself from the hot summer sun.

  1. You have the awesome collection and the outdoor furniture picks are really cool with some kind of unique taste. The patio swing and rest chair are looking pretty with cozy appearance. And I love the color of the dining sets which is very isolated from other furniture sets.
