Home Theatre at CES 2026

Home theatre continues to be a big draw at CES with TVs of all sizes, like Samsung’s massive 130-inch Micro RGB display and Hisense’s behemoth 163-inch 163MX microLED TV. Indeed, micro RGB is the buzzword this year. Every top TV brand is developing its own version and interpretation of how to deliver the best colour possible while still retaining deep blacks to rival OLED.

Home theatre extends to audio as well, with innovations like LG Sound Suite that allows for a wireless, modular sound experience you can adapt to fit your needs. There are other hot categories in home theatre this year as well, like innovative projectors and movable displays. Here, I’ll walk you through some of the highlights.

TVs: RGB are the three most important letters this year

Before diving into the latest RGB TVs, it’s important to know what an RGB TV is and how it differs from other types of TVs. Rather than white LEDs that shine through colour filters to create, red, green, and blue colours as with traditional LED TVs, an RGB TV eliminates the need for a colour filter. Instead, it uses individual red, green, and blue LEDs. With mini RGB LED TVs, these LEDs are ultra small, and with micro RGB LED TVs, they’re even smaller.

Why should you care? The benefit is precise colour control, reproduction, and rendering, especially with more complex scenes and those with subtle shades. You also get overall higher brightness. Most of these TVs boast they can achieve 100% (or close to) the BT.2020 wide colour gamut. This essentially means they can display every colour imaginable, based on what’s provided in the content source, for real true-to-life image reproduction.

Every manufacture handles this process differently. But the end result is a new wave of stunning TVs to delight the eyes. Here’s a look at some of the most notable from each top brand.

Samsung Micro RGB line

Samsung Micro RGB at CES 2026

Along with Samsung’s 130-inch Micro RGB TV I mentioned earlier, the brand has a full line of Micro RGB TVs ranging in size from 55 inches up to 115 inches. Together with the ultra-small red, green, and blue LEDs, these TVs work with Samsung 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro to ensure a clear and smooth image. You get enhanced colour and vividness, thanks to Micro RGB Color Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro. Plus, Samsung’s Glare Free technology helps minimize reflections.

For audio, you get to enjoy Dolby Atmos and Adaptive Sound Pro that intelligently adapts the sound to your surroundings. Q-Symphony gives you a deeper soundstage when the TV is connected to a compatible Samsung sound bar, while Eclipsa Audio provides immersive, spatial audio.

Additionally, you’ll find an upgraded Vision AI Companion on these new TVs that combines large language models (LLMs) with more natural conversation, powered by Samsung Bixby. With this, you can do things like get recommendations, run conversational searches, and even create generative AI wallpapers for the display.

LG Micro RGB evo line

LG has a full micro RGB evo line of TVs, too. In 75, 86, and 100-inch sizes, they use OLED precision to control each individual RGB backlight. Powered by the upgraded Dual AI Engine-based α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen 3, you get Dual Super Upscaling as well, resulting in natural, balanced images. The TVs are certified by Intertek to achieve 100% colour gamut coverage in BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB. Micro Dimming Ultra ensures high contrast, brightness, and colour control for both bright and dark scenes.

These TVs boast the latest version of webOS that adds features like Voice ID and AI Picture/Sound Wizard. Through the My Page home screen, it can recognize whose watching and provide a more personalized experience.

Hisense Mini LED and microLED TVs

Hisense RGB Mini LED TV at CES 2026

Hisense is introducing RGB Mini LED and MicroLED TVs as well, with a focus on brilliant colours. They include the RGB Mini LED and Mini LED evo line, which add Sky Blue-Cyan as a fourth colour. With an expanded colour range, you’ll see things like a bright blue sky or flowing water rendered more accurately. This also results in a reduction in blue light emissions. The eye-catcher at the company’s booth is the 116UXS RGB Mini LED TV, which is powered by the new Hisense Hi-View AI engine RGB.

The microLED TVs are labeled as RGBY because they add yellow as a fourth primary colour to better render yellow, gold, and amber tones. They also provide better viewing angles and clarity overall. The 163MX microLED TV uses self-emissive pixels and achieves up to 100% of BT.2020.

Finally, there’s the RGB UR9 and UR8 Mini LED series that come in accessible screen sizes from 55 inches up to 100 inches, with affordable price points. Enjoy improved gradients, cleaner motion, and more lifelike images in each TV, powered by the new Hi-View AI engine RGB.

Other TV innovations to watch for

While RGB is the star of the show, all the major brands have other TV innovations, too.

Samsung OLED S95H TV

This paper-thin TV sits as flush to the wall as it can possibly get, thanks to the refined bezel design. An artsy looking TV, it’s also the first OLED that gets access to the Art Store. This service has historically been limited to Samsung’s The Frame TV and opened up last year to other LED models as well.

The S95H is the first Samsung OLED to receive access to it. Behind the scenes Samsung worked on the technology to ensure that burn-in won’t be an issue when displaying a piece of art of photo on the screen for long periods of time. The TV also boasts improved audio built into the bezel so you can get away with listening only through the TV’s built-in speakers if you want a totally clean look.

LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV

LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV

This gorgeous TV marks a revival of a design LG first introduced in 2017. The 9mm thin TV adds a modern spin with true wireless connectivity via the Zero Connect Box. This means you can place it virtually anywhere without having to worry about running wires: the box can sit up to 10 metres away.

It offers boosted picture quality thanks to Hyper Radiant Color Technology. This technology helps improve black levels as well as colour and brightness while also lowering reflections. Powered by the new α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen3, it has a powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and Dual AI Engine. Access artwork from LG Gallery+, display your own photos, or create ones using generative AI.

It’s also worth noting that this TV supports a 4K 165Hz refresh rate along with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, making it a great option for gamers. It has the same webOS interface as the new RGB TVs as well.

For those who prioritize design alongside picture quality, there’s also the LG Gallery TV that comes in 55- and 65-inch sizes with a slim, flush-mount design and customizable magnetic frames. It uses LG Mini LED technology and the α (Alpha) 7 AI Processor, combining 4K visuals with immersive AI Sound Pro (Virtual 9.1.2-channel) audio.

Hisense XR10 laser TV

Launching just prior to CES, the XR10 laser TV uses TriChroma triple laser technology so you can view images as large as 300 inches projected onto a screen or flat surface. You get up to 6,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, 5,000:1 native contrast, and up to 2x optical zoom. With lens shift, you can adjust the picture without physically moving the projector. It comes loaded with the VIDAA smart TV OS.

TCL X11L Series SQD Mini LED TV

TCL is adopting its own moniker with SQD, representing its X11L series of Mini LED TVs. The ultra-slim (0.8-inch depth) flat TVs employ TCL’s new Deep Color System with Super Quantum Dots, along with a UltraColor Filter and advanced Color Control System. Combined with the Halo Control System, the result is brighter images, better shadow detail, virtually no blooming, and deeper blacks.

TCL promises a wider viewing angle and increased contrast thanks to the anti-reflective layer. With 20,000 discreet dimming zones, the TV provides excellent black level to rival OLED. You’ll still get the best black level performance with traditional OLED, but it’s indeed really impressive in its ability to display deep blacks with fabulous contrast. Along with lots of AI features like AI colour, contrast, clarity, motion, upscaling, and sound, you get built in Gemini since it’s a Google TV.

For audio, Bang & Olufsen speakers provide a favourable experience for those who haven’t yet or don’t want to invest in a separate sound system or have to mount a sound bar. I sat through a short demo that included the TV’s built-in speaker and a wireless subwoofer. While it’s tough to discern in a crowded room versus a home setting, the speaker seems good enough for small rooms and apartments where you haven’t yet invested in separate speakers. Once ready, however, you can expand this further by adding TCL Dolby FlexConnect speakers as surrounds. Use Art Mode to display artwork on the TV when you’re not watching.

This TV is on a higher price point, but it’s an interesting option for those who want something that’s a step-up from traditional LED but don’t want to go to the generally even more expensive OLED route for such a large screen size. It will come in 75-, 85-, and 98-inch sizes.

Audio to complement the video experience

Many of these TVs support improved built-in audio, as mentioned. But to get the best experience possible, you want to add separate speakers, a sound bar, or both. There’s plenty of innovation in audio, too.

LG Sound Suite H7 sound bar

LG Sound Suite H7 sound bar

LG’s Sound Suite sound bar is powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, so you get immersive Dolby Atmos through a simple setup of wirelessly connected speakers. Pair LG’s M7 and M5 surround speakers, for example, with the W7 subwoofer, or just use the subwoofer. Expand the system as your needs change.

Our demo showcased how simple this is to do, as well as how you can leverage the LG ThinQ app to recalibrate when you move speakers around, add more surrounds, and more. You can build up to a 13.1.7-channel system. Use LG Sound Follow to adjust the “sweet spot” based on where you are sitting. It’s worth noting that with a future update, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will be available with other models in the LG 2026 premium TV line-up, as well as select 2025 models via a software update to come.

Victrola Soundstage

While it isn’t meant for use with TVs, the Victrola Soundstage is a unique audio product that you could use with TVs. But it’s primarily designed for use with record players and turntables. It sits underneath a turntable (or place it on a shelf or other flat surface on its own) and functions as a wired or wireless speaker, using Bluetooth and Auracast. When placed under a turntable, it isolates vibrations to preserve the integrity of the music. It has a down-firing Symmetric Drive Woofer (SDW) with dual diaphragm technology and Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) technology that delivers wide, even dispersion.

Samsung Music Frame

Samsung introduced the Music Frame a few years ago at CES, and it’s now joined by the Studio 5 and Studio 7 wireless speakers. Both available in black and white, the Studio 5 employs a stylish design made by the same designer who created Samsung’s Serif TV. The Wi-Fi speaker has a driver and pair of tweeters and works with Q-Symphony. For a more traditional look, there’s the Studio 7, which has a Spotify Direct button on it for when you want to listen to music. The 3.1 system has a built-in subwoofer, driver, side-firing and up-firing speakers.

Movable smart displays for theatre anywhere in the home

LG arguably began the trend towards movable smart display with its LG Monitor Swing. Now, others are joining in, and two models stand out at the show: the Hisense FollowMe Display and the Samsung Movingstyle. Both are small TVs on a movable stand that can be used for streaming content, video calls, web browsing, showcasing artwork, controlling smart home features, and more.

The Hisense FollowMe Display has a 32-inch 4K UHD touchscreen with adjustable height and orientation for landscape to portrait mode. It can run for up to 10 hours using its built-in battery and comes with integrated Wi-Fi 6 and DTS Virtual:X.

Samsung’s Movingstyle has a 27-inch 16:9 touchscreen with the same rotating capabilities as well as height adjustments. You can also remove the screen from the pedestal stand to prop it up on a surface using the built-in kickstand on the back. It runs for up to three hours or you can keep it plugged in. With the Tizen OS, you can access streaming services, websites, apps, and more.

Samsung Freestyle+ AI portable projector

Samsung Freestyle+ AI portable projector

Perfect for creating your own home theatre on the go, the Samsung Freestyle+ portable projector adds smarter AI capabilities alongside improved brightness up to 430 ISO lumens. Use the AI OptiScreen to adjust the picture to fit in odd spaces, like corners, angled walls, even curtains. The picture instantly readjusts so it looks as close as possible to a square picture versus a distorted one. It’s useful if you have limited space to project.

With Samsung’s Vision AI Companion built-in, you can access Bixby for assistance and interactions. The 180° rotating design makes projector placement easy so you can project at any angle, even on the ceiling. It comes with Samsung TV Plus access built in along with Samsung Gaming Hub. A built-in 360° speaker means you have everything you need to get going, right out of the box. Enhance audio when using it at home by connecting it to compatible Samsung soundbars via Q-Symphony.
