Hey guys, its Debra your wearable technology girlfriend and general nuisance. Today we’re discussing the Martian Victory Series Voice Command watch. So here we are with another watch that does stuff other than just be a watch. Who just tells time anymore!? BORING!

Hey Team! It’s Debra! Your Best Buy Canada Wearable Technology Minx! (Not my official title … YET!) Well, spring is in the air (we hope) and of course that means BASEBALL season starts soon! (My dad told me) So, this week it’s the BLAST Baseball Swing Precision Motion Sensor. The Blast is indeed “wearable technology,” except the person wearing it is a baseball bat. AND—one size fits all! (How often is that true?)

2015 is living up to expectations as an exciting time for smartwatch fans. We’re seeing Android Wear smartwatches hit their stride, the Apple Watch is due out in a matter of weeks and now Pebble—the company that really helped kick off the whole thing—is back with an exciting new model. Pebble Time was just announced, offering everything we love about the original Pebble and Pebble Steel (including that amazing battery life), while adding a colour display!

When I asked the team what was up for this week, they said, “BEDDIT”. I responded, “Absolutely. Which guy is ‘IT’?” Beddit, I quickly found out, is a new sleep monitor. Ahem. I always thought a sleep monitor was a creepy roommate, but the good people at Best Buy Canada showed me the light!

I love how motivating my fitness tracker is, so I was excited to hear about the FitBark dog activity monitor. It’s a fitness tracker specifically for dogs, is available in a wide variety of colours, and can be pre-ordered right now for shipping beginning March 31st, 2015.

Debra here, strapping on some more wearable technology! This fitness train cannot be stopped!! This week, it’s the Garmin Forerunner 10 watch. This impressive device is for those who run without being chased, without an oncoming Indiana Jones boulder and/or avalanche—those who actually ENJOY running.  So what did I do with it?  Read on to find out:

Perhaps you’re like me, or perhaps you’re a “normal” human—either way, you lose stuff. The delightful people at Best Buy Canada (and a cutie-patootie named Chris Herbert, the inventor of TrackR) are showing us technology that will essentially give you a super-robot memory and stop you from losing your mind and ruining your life. This all comes in the form of the TrackR Wallet.

At first, when my pals at Best Buy Canada gave me the Fitbit Charge HR to try out, I was kind of shocked. I mean, I’ve previously discussed my obsession with my Fitbit—I use it everyday. Am I not exercising enough for you, Best Buy? But then I realized that, as usual, my tech savvy friends are opening my eyes to another life-enhancer! And, although I love my Fitbit, I think I’m IN LOVE with the Charge HR.

A smartwatch that lives up to expectations was elusive for decades, but in the past few years technology has begun to catch up to the dream. The commercial success of pioneers like the Pebble helped bring smartwatches to the mainstream in 2014, Samsung’s commitment to the devices resulted in multiple generations of Gear smartwatches in a single year and Android Wear ushered in the era of round-faced models like the Moto 360. 2015 looks to be even better as app stores take off, manufacturers tweak their designs and the Apple Watch arrives.
