Fitness tracking is a fun, easy way to motivate you to get moving. I know since I’ve picked up my own fitness tracker that I’m much more likely to get up and out the door for a run if I notice my stats are dropping, and there’s nothing quite as fun as challenging a friend to a little friendly fitness competition. But if you’ve ever wished your own fitness tracker would go a bit further or do a bit more by tracking other types of exercise, you’re going to be really excited about the Jawbone UP3.
The Jawbone UP3 is being labeled as the world’s most advanced activity tracker. Once you put it on your wrist you can track advanced activity data, advanced sleep data, monitor your heart health, and it works with your own Smart Coach so all of the data you receive helps you make the best lifestyle choices to suit you.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how the Jawbone UP3 works:
Advanced Activity Monitor
Some fitness trackers are great for walking and running, but the Jawbone UP3 is the perfect accessory for any fitness activity. It’s a smart device that learns your exercise patterns and uses Auto Activity Classification to log all activity, so from runs to bike rides and a quick game of ball on the court, your UP3 will pick it up and give you an idea of how many calories you’ve burnt.
Advanced Sleep Monitoring
I love tracking my sleep, because knowing how often I wake up even when I don’t really ‘wake up’ helps me focus on better sleep habits like going to bed early or not falling asleep with my smartphone.
The UP3 will track your sleep stages, from REM when you’re dreaming to deep restorative sleep, and it can give you help with getting the most sleep to improve your day-to-day life.
Heart Health Monitor
The UP3 has bioimpedience sensors built in to track your resting and full-speed heart rate, and it will send you the data so you’ll always have an understanding of your heart health.
Smart Coach
Using the Jawbone Smart Coach app, you’ll be able to capture all of the info your UP3 provides and it can help you reach your fitness goals even faster by giving you info on your activity level, steps taken, and the intensity of your workout. You can also track your food intake when you synch your Jawbone with other compatible apps, keep an eye on your best exercise times, and ask friends to join with you to beat your personal bests.
The Jawbone UP3 synchs via Bluetooth so it’s always connected and ready to go, and it also has a 7-day battery charge so you won’t be plugging in all the time. It includes an idle alert, so you’ll receive a reminder when you’ve been sitting around for too long, and has a smart alarm to wake you up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.
The Jawbone UP3 is coming soon, so keep an eye on fitness and activity trackers on Bestbuy.ca.
This is the one I have been waiting to buy to replace my BodyMedia Fit since it has the same sensors, but it feels like it will be forever before it will be released. So many delays. I’ve seen many people in the US cancel their pre-order. Would you happen to have any info on when it may be available?
Hi @newfiechic
I did some digging and so far it doesn’t look like they have a concrete release date, but everything I’ve read says April could be when they come out. I’ll come back and update you if I find out an actual date.
